josip, sounds like the car is runnig really rich.

Congratulations, im sure you are good at lots of things... Im not saying it is the only variable, but i am curious to see what type of rubber people are having success with other than Nittos and BFGoodrich. Robos is pulling some awesome 60ft times, so i dont think we can say he cant drive. yeah i am reading up on these tyres now, they sound pretty good, just called my local toyo dealer - bloody useless couldnt even get me a price on any of their motorsport models...
-
wow those toyo's sound good, ill have to do some research on them. are you talking about the proxies RA-1 or T1-R passanger? your 60ft times sounds pretty good though, i would be happy with a 2.0 or anything under. i found that my only problem was just getting traction. mind you i ran on 205 continental crappies. what was your 60ft for the 13.09?
-
Well you did better than me too! my R32 GTS ran 13.5 @110mph, but with my crap tyres i couldnt get a 60ft better than 2.3 what rubber are you running?

Who has fitted a 2wd RB26 in their GTS?
bbenny replied to bbenny's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
They were exactly my thoughts roy. I had a drive in a mates GTR the other week, and while he only produces about 15rwkw more than me, the RB26 is just so much more drivable than the RB20. sure mine is heaps of fun, and has been seriously reliable, but the RB26 feels so much greater, and the potential for more power and easy mods is there. it has a shitload more torque down low too. I just cant justify spending any more on my RB20 when i should just get an RB26. considering the sale of my RB20 and 2530 turbo, it would be fairly cost effective. -

bbenny replied to bbenny's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thanks for all the info guys. I have thought about the RB30DET, but thought it would be the more expensive option, considering selecting a turbo set up for it. rather than a std RB26 set up. -
Hey guys, I have done a fair bit of searching on this topic, and want to hear the experiences of others. I Have spent lots of money on my RB20 and it is going great, but i feel spending any more money on HP gains just isnt cost effective, and think i would be better off throwing in an RB26 with a 2wd sump and GTR box. Who has done this, what additional costs did you encounter, and how did you go about making a 2wd sump. As far as labour costs etc, i plan on doing most of this myself, maybe a few odd jobs will be sent off to the experts. all info and advice would be awesome! thanks. Ben.

Whos delt with Envy Imports?
bbenny replied to madcabbie's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I bought my skyline off Envy, and had them do all my initial service work. I have nothing bad to say about them, they were very cheap, extremely helpful. I have heard ppl say negative things on here before, but my dealings with them were all great. now that i have learnt alot more about the RB engine (thanks to this forum) i only use envy now to order my parts and i just do everything else, and they are always extremely helpful and very well priced. -
well apparently there is a different feed internally, but the main advantage is having the good fuel fittings and getting rid of those crappy clamps! i guess on a high hp engine you would be better safe than sorry, imagine blowing off the fuel line! ouch
-
haha stop picking on me troy! you bag me out what ever i want, when i first suggested the GTRS you were talking me out of it, now this! no i have all the braided fittings for all my fuel lines, but the crappy clamp fittings on the fuel rail. and i smell petrol!
-
Im looking at the HKS RB26 fuel rail, and just wanted to confirm whether it matches up to the RB20? i know injectors are the same feed etc, but just wanted to know if i would have any troubles fitting the HKS rail on my RB20?? cheers Ben.

yeah i beleive you did it right jnr32r. as i had the exact same problem when i tried it, yet when i replaced the standard ones back (installing exactly the same way as the GTR cams) everything started perfectly and is still going great... so i dont beleive it is an installment issue. as everyone attempting it themselves has had the exact same problems, yet when returning to the standard items, everything is fine. so i think the mechanical skills of the ppl attempting this mod is not the issue.

Advice on slotted rotors
bbenny replied to nismo_au's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
"So whats the difference between the DBA slotted, and DBA 4000s??? Or isnt there a difference at all?" you can get the 4000s in slotted and not slotted, i think thats the difference... I got the DBA 4000 slotted from supercheap auto! dont laugh they were awesome, I called up and ordered them one arvo, they had them the next morn, and they only cost $900 for all four including the frieght costs. best part is they are just simple bolt on replacements, so i had them on in about an hour and a half. what was even better is that they stopped all the squeeling my performance pads made on the std rotors. havent had them on the track yet, but they feel awesome on the street. -
Sorry to hear it didnt work! you have had the exact same problem as 4 of us who have tried it. has anyone here bolted in some HKS or Tomie items into their RB20 yet? i dont understand why they should work as a bolt in, yet the GTR ones cause so many problems...
-
Yeah ive got the stock rotors, front and rear with minimal wear. you can have the set for $50

Trek Liquid Custom Build (M) 17.5" List of components: - Trek Liquid ZR9000 (stronger than steel lighter than titanium) handmade US frame 4-5inches travel with instant geometry adjustment - Fox Talas R rear shock, flick the switch and change stroke and eye-eye length - Rockshox Psylo Race 125mm (5inch) - Shimano XT front mech - Shimano XT rear mech - Shimano XT disc hubs front and rear - Shimano Deore M555 Hydraulic disc brakes - Mavic 521sup rims - Azonic Love seat - Azonic Double wall 2” Riser Bar - Azonic Shorty Dlx Stem - FSA sealed bearing headset - Bontrager Race ISIS cranks (Made by Truvativ) - DMR V12 pedals - Sachs PC99 chain - HG70 cassette - Maxxis Ignitor Tyres 2.3” The Build comes to over $6,000. This is the ultimate trail bike, and I really do regret having to sell it. But i have been unable to ride for the last 6months due to illness, and the poor baby has just been sitting in my room. When you ride this you are blown away by how efficient it pedals. There is no bob at all when pedaling, so it accelerates quicker than my Azonic hardtail, and climbs better than most XC hardtails, yet the second you take the wrong line or hit a drop you know it has 5inches front and rear. A reluctant and speedy sale at $2,699ono This bike is only 9months old! And has honestly seen maybe 15hrs ride time when i was well. you can see this is evident in the pics. cheers Ben [email protected] Pictures:

max boost for RB20DET (internals only)
bbenny replied to Doctor 30's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
before you do that get it on the dyno as your standard ecu might start doing stupid things, mine did. i got it rechipped and dont have any probs now. but dont wind it up without checking on a dyno. its too expensive not to be sure. -
Here is my pride and joy.

ahh32, im hoping to beat you too it haha. but i need a new DH bike, and they make a turbo seem cheap! but it would be great to see the results of one on an RB20 over here. dangerous, i would expect the GT-RS to give that little extra it is actually rated at 400ps (same as a 2835) but reported to have response similar to a 2535. now if thats all true (i have heard mixed responses) then it would be the ultimate turbo for both an RB20 and 25. can you imagine having that response with the ability to flow 400ps? so put it into perspective - the 2530 flows 320ps and makes 300rwhp at 1.2bar on my RB20. The GT-RS flows 400ps. so all being equall thats turbo that "should" flow 25% which would be 375rwhp. before everyone starts arguing, i know it doesnt work exactly like that, but realistically it should be able to produce 350rwhp and have very decent mid-range and awesome top-end, which is the sort of tune im after.
-
just get a GT-RS turbo on it. rated at 400ps and with response similar to a 2535 you should get a nice power curve, and no one else has done it yet. ive got a 2530 on my RB20 and its great, but i want to make a little more top end. response and midrange is fantastic, but i would like that little bit of extra pull up top.

What aftermarket turbo are you running on your RB20DET
bbenny replied to VLRB20DET's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
the TD06 uses a different manifold, with ext gate. see Troy's link on post #2 for all the details. it is a much different set up to the 2530. if you are chasing good power (over 240rwkw) go for the TD06 -

HKS 2530 230rwkw at 1.2bar wicked response too -
why dont you get the GT-RS turbo, HKS have now released it in T3 flange to suite RB20/25 as a bolt on application. its rateed at 400ps the same rating as a 2835 but responds more like a 2535. best of both worlds there, it would be super responsive on an RB25 yet flow some serious top end... you should make at lease 250rwkw with a 2530, i would imagine some good figures would be seen with the GT-RS
-
yeah just buy a TD06 20G kit thats for sale, wind the boost up and enjoy!
