Got Wheels On My M35 - Lots Of Pics!
bbenny replied to bbenny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Well when I put the standard wheels on, the only time the atessa comes on is when its breaking traction. There is a noticable difference on the guage between the two wheel sets. Mind you... if there wasnt a guage I wouldnt think there is a problem. everything runs perfectly, no warning lights, or vibrations or anything! -
Its simple... Test drive both on the same day. The difference is huge. For a turbo engine the VQ25 is very torquey it feels like a V8 in terms of response compared to an RB25. For me it came down to two points - I needed a wagon for work - didnt have to be huge, but more room is better. The other point, is I like to drive. I dont drive a huge amount of kms every week, I just enjoy driving, and the stagea is the kind of car, that after work or whatever it is you do, it makes you smile when you give it a good squirt. But I have to admit, its the best road-trip car ever! load it up with mates and head to the snow! its perfect!

Got Wheels On My M35 - Lots Of Pics!

Any time its under heavy load. if you gently accelerate its no problem, but if you give it a little it puts torque through. And yes im quite sure its no where near breaking traction. If the standard wheels are on, it stops doing it... -
Hey Guys, I finally got a set of wheels for the M35... I got some Enkei GTC01 in 19x8.5 +22 Tyres are 225/40/19 The fitment is perfect! exactly what I was going for in terms of filling the guards. Check out the pics Some of you may remember I tried running a staggered set a few months back but had attesa issues.... Well I have now bought a set of 4 matching wheels and tyres, and still have the attessa shifting torque to the front when it doesnt need to. Has anyone had this issue with aftermarket wheels on the M35? I never had this problem on my C34 stagea. Any advice/ideas would be great. In the mean time check all the pics below! Im loving them I now have loads of room for 350Z Brembos Ben.

Yeah im running 215/55/17 and my speedo seems to be out 10%.... Ive just bought 19's, so i think ill go something like a 235/40/19 I think that was about the same size and see if I can get the speedo adjusted (is that possible?)

Hks Gt-rs Turbo Compatability For M35
bbenny replied to mym35's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Check this link: HERE It was posted a little while ago, but its a guy in japan that has fitted a GTRS to his VQ25DET Full custom manifold and exhaust. - If I ever have to do turbo, I will go GTRS, it seems like a great match to the VQ25 even if its gonna take some playing about to get it in there! Ben. -
Any luck yet Danny?
-
So stolked to see that Danny! Its exactly what I have been planning. Can you give me the part numbers for the rotors you used. Also did you need to to make a mounting adaptor for the rear calipers, or just make room with the dust tins? Ben.
-
You can safely fit 10" on the rear with a +40 offset on a RS 250t so with the extra guards on an ARX you could go wider. The biggest issue on the M35 is the front swing arm. I think the max you can go on a RS up front would be 9J with a +28ish offset. That will take it right to the guard and only leave 8-10mm between the rim and swing arm - so its pushing it. as MX Fly suggested 8.5J +22 offset is prime (maybe you can go bigger with the ARX guards)
-
yeah, yours with the line looks way better/classier - the one on import monster looks a bit tacky imo.
-
thats wicked! I like the line through the middle! Nice one

Yeah Thule all day! They are the best quality racks out there and also supply the largest range of roof rack accessories.

M35 Dump Pipe - Making Up A Few
bbenny replied to Angus Smart's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So are these complete and ready to buy? or still being finished? Im ready for one as soon as they are Ben. -
8.5J +22 offset is pretty mild - im confident it will sit perfectly, without the need to roll guards etc. I havent gone with anything yet, but I have 2 options at the moment, and pending that dummy fitting I will make a decision on one. The problem is, with most japanese wheels you cant get the deep (concave) face unless you go 9J or wider. Knowing that 9 x 10J fit no problems on the rear its only the fronts that limit options on this car. I have also found a few Japanese M35 stageas running 20x8.5J +18 without rolling.
-
I have done a lot of maths on this as im ordering rims from japan and dont want to spend all my cash and find it doesnt fit... and it seems that the ideal fitment for a 250t to really fill the guards will be 8.5J with a +22 offset. Now you can probably fit a 9J with +20 offset but the fronts might scrub the guards. But 8.5J +22mm will get them right out there without fouling the guards or the front swing arm (if it wasnt for the stupid front swing arm on these cars you could easily fit 9.5" all round). Now I worked this out with some basic maths, but I will be putting a dummy set in place next week to 100% confirm before ordering my wheels - I will keep you posted I recently had the following staggered combo that fit fine, but screwed with the attesa: Rear: 19x10 +40mm (filled the guard perfectly!) so that makes 87mm from hub to guards without rolling - add another 10-15mm with rolling Front: 19x 8 +30mm (needed at least another 15mm to really fill the guards) so about 86mm from hub to guard would be ideal. The issue is inside clearance on that front swing arm. Cheers, Ben.

keen! when and where?
-
Yeah keen aswell! I would also like one thats not too tall, meaning it would take less modification to fit. Im also keen on stealth so all black with black silicone connectors and pipes would be cool!

Just Fitted A Boost Guage To My M35 Today
bbenny replied to bbenny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
thanks for posting those vids up iamhe77 Yeah Legalis looks the goods, sits nice and high up into the body too - standard one is very low and sometimes hits the ground when coming out of driveways etc. -

thanks for all the replies! Im on the northern beaches, but am happy to drive out to meet and hear the car in person. Im always keen to see/hear your videos too! One other question, can anyone recommend a store/web store to purchase one through. Have seen few sites selling the, but always prefer to hear where/who you got yours from. Cheers, Ben. -
Just Fitted A Boost Guage To My M35 Today
bbenny replied to bbenny's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I would love to hear one of these if anyone is interested in taking me around the block some time! -
Fitted a boost guage today as I have a boost controler to be fitted. Now I have read a few mixed reports on what the standard boost level is. My car is 100% stock - not even a filter fitted yet, and its running 1bar (14psi) and trailing down to 0.8 right at the top of the rev range... Is that normal? What are others experiences? I was planning on using the boost controller to get it to 1bar, but I dont need it! haha I am also planning on getting an exhaust with my tax return. Im pretty keen on a Fujitsubo Legalis - as I had one on my C34, it was great without drone, good flow and a nice sound when you gave it a boot-full. Does anyone have any opinions or have a Legalis on their M35? Cheers, Ben.

Really exciting stuff! Well done for putting in the time and effort. Im sure that all the M35 guys on here will appreciate it I know I do! and look forward to when I can just drop my car in for a retuned ECU! Ben.
