I found that when I had my series 1 the only pads i could get were OEM pads from Nissan Australia. No one made any aftermarket pads to suit...

Thanks for the compliments guys only had it for two weeks now but loving it! so much improvement over the C34. Yes I know there had been discussion, but I spoke to alot of outside sources that work on highly modified GTR's and staggered wheels on R32, 33, 34's hadnt been a problem for anyone. As long as rolling diameters are the same... So I couldnt see why it would be a problem with the stagea. I also discussed this with the shop I bought the wheels from. They were really helpful and tried all sorts of tyre combos without any luck. Fortunately they have offered to refund or replace the wheels with something that works. I only chose those wheels for the massive dished lip on the rear - and because 10inch wont fit up front it would mean 8.5 all the way round, which didnt look as good. So at this stage im opting for something different - Enkie GTC01 at this stage. See pic below: Does anyone have any ideas? Im thinking of going 19x9 all the way round - I want something that will really fill the guards. So I will try a lower offset like 25ish if possible in a 9 or 8.5 wide It seems the front needs a reasonably low offset as the wheels tend to rub the front suspension arm. Enkie GTC01

Yeah its working fine with the stock wheels now on... Ill just get same size wheels all round with the same rubber all round. If that doesnt work im baffled!

Buying A 2002 Stagea M35 Rsfour Or Not .....
bbenny replied to jxanon's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
having owned both There is a massive difference between the two. If you are purely after getting as much power as possible, then got a C34 260RS - basically its a GTR wagon using an RB26 and all GTR drivetrain. But in saying that the M35 drives so much nicer, has loads more power low down and with a few basic mods, is a very quick car for a big wagon. The M35 is much more luxurious and comfortable. handling and stability are alot better. thats my 10cents anyway Ben. -
We tried 3 different tyre configurations including the same rubbed all the way round - nothing made a difference. I was confident there wouldnt be a problem, because like you I understood that the Attessa system only activates if there is a 5% difference between front and rear rolling measurements. It didnt matter whether we used the same tyres all round or different sizes... So the attessa system must be measuring something other than just rolling differences.

Well... I got some wheels for the M35 this week, but wasnt to successful! I fitted a set of Lenso 19x10 and 19x8.5 (staggered) The good news is that an M35 comfortably fits a 10inch wide wheel in the back without any rolling of the guards or any scrubbing - in fact I think 11inches would be possible! These were a +40 offset. Now the problem was staggered wheels. Although it drove smoothly and perfectly, I noticed that the front torque gauge was playing stupid! sending torque to the front when it wasnt needed. I have attached some pics so you can see how the wheels fit and the technical details below. But for now I have some 19x9 +35 Enkies on the way to hopefully fix the problem, and look even sexier! Attempted sizes: Rear: 19x10 +40 offset (fits perfectly) Front: 19x8.5 +40 offset (using 10mm spacer to fill guards better) Wheels ordered: 19x9 +35 all round. - I will post an update when these are installed later in the week. Ben. Here are some pics of how the car looked:

According to the Guys at Just-Jap they told me that its the same bolt pattern as R33 GTST AFM's. They recomended bolting an Apexi R33 pod straight up to the AFM. I havent checked this, but I have pulled the AFM out and traced its shape so I can go in and check before purchasing.
-
So Here are some pics of the car before and after: Before Front: After Front: Before Rear: After Rear: As you can see the front lip is a little too low now. I think Ill be lifting the front a few cm and dropping the rear a cm on the weekend. Here are the shocks in place. Alot easier to fit these than remove the originals!

I got them through JDM concept here in Australia. Ordered them online, they came from Japan and I had them within a week! I would recomend them for sure. I paid $1585 off the top of my head. Ben.

Well I successfully fited the coilovers today!! Although its a little too low at the front - looks awesome, but when I got home I hit the front lip and undercarriage pretty bad getting into my unit blocks crappy driveway entrance. Fitting took me a solid 3-4 hours - mainly due to the cheap spring compressors being a nightmare to work with and bending enough to scare the hell out of me! haha The Tanabe's are great quality and everything lined up and slotted into place perfectly. The ride is very simillar to the standard shocks, but you notice the stiffer damping when cornering - you also notice its not quite as supple on really bumpy rough roads. So I'm really happy with it, and the car looks so much more aggressive low to the ground Hope to have some rims fitted in the next couple of weeks - the standard wheels look exceptionally skinny and small all of a sudden! Pics up later tonight. Ben.
-
Thanks for the heads up andy! I was planning on doing it that way, but wasnt aware that the bold was eccentric! thanks for that
-
hhmmmm I dont have a rattle gun, just my trusty socket set! haha Fingers crossed that will be enough. Did you have to pull any interior out to access the rear strut bolts. I only peered under the car, and it seemed like I may be able to remove the shock from underneath. Thanks for all your info though. I appreciate as much as I can get before pulling bits out.
-
Im not 100% sure, but I did read somewhere that there may be a problem. I cant see much difference in terms of size and shape between these and my non Hicas standard shocks.
-
Picked up my new coilovers for the Stagea today! As long as im not too busy tomorrow I will install these puppies myself! They are the Tanabe Sustec Pro NF models - so no rebound or preload damping, but height adjustment. They are meant to have a similar spring rate to the standard shocks, but damping is a little heavier so it doesnt sway and bounce so much. Quality looks great - So I hope they perform. Once these are set, Ill pick up some rims to really set the car off Has anyone installed shocks on the M35 before? Fronts shouldnt be too hard, but im worried that my cheap Auto 1 spring compressors wont be good enough for those rear springs. Pics of before and after up tomorrow hopefully! Ben.

Maybe - it had colour coded skirts, wheel arches etc like an Axis. I didnt see the front so Im not sure if it had the grille too! Man how many M35's are on the beaches? lol I only ever see one regularly - a silver one parked on pittwater road in manly.
-
haha small world. I used to have a s1 C34 stagea - silver been driving it around dee why for the last few years, and just picked up the M35 2 weeks ago. Loving it, but have a few bits going on over the next two weeks to make it a little nicer Ill keep an eye out for your Axis
-
Nope but I have seen yours around! This one had an ARX badge back and no autech badge. Im in dee why - where are you?
-
spotted a Silver ARX with Axis kit and wheels on condamine and pittwater road last week. (manlyvale - brookie) Drove beside and behind for a good 1-2km in my Blue M35 with aero kit, but I dont think they saw me...
-
Yeah good choice! The mesh wheels are wicked on M35's and you need 19+ on such a big car cant wait to see pics with them on! Can I ask what you expect to pay for rubber on those 20's?? Ben.
-
I want something as wide as possible to really fill the guards. I had 8.5" wide in my C34 stagea and I think that another 1/2 inch would have filled the guards a little better. Im not a fan of spacers, So I would prefer to go as wide as possible R34 GTR wheels fit very well and I beleive they are a 9 or 9.5" wheel.
-
As far as I know they are pretty unique. at $1000 for rears alone, I would look at Tanabe NF coilovers - I just ordered a set at $1580 for all 4 - they are height adjustable and use the same spring rate as standard. Damping is a little firmer just to reduce body roll and excess bounce around corners. I got mine from JDM Concepts. I should have them in a week, but I have heard really positive feedback from other forum members using the same shocks. Note* Apparently they wont work with HICAS (4 wheel steer) model M35's

M35 - To Perisher For The Weekend
bbenny replied to Angus Smart's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So jealous!! I was meant to go down for the weekend - so there would have been another M35 up in the mountains, but had to bail with too much work on! I went to Niseko, Japan early this year and had the best snow of my life! So im hanging to hit some more pow! -
Another will it fit question.... anyone that can shed light or advice would be much appreciated I am looking at getting a set of 19x9.5 in a +38 or +25 offset - can anyone confirm if these will fit my M35 250t? Im thinking the +38 offset will be the go... I want something to fill the guards properly - there seems like plenty of room with the standards, but feeling the inside of the front tyre - they seem pretty close the suspension swing arm.
-
I dont think I can get more than 400km on a full tank in my M35 - I have only filled it twice since I got it, but it is chewing a hell of a lot more than my C34 stagea which was modified - My M35 is 100% stock! Maybe I need a tune...
