  1. very solid advice IMHO...goodluck with it Craig
  2. no probz, I get what you mean
  3. thanks George ^^^ I by no means will go out of my way to protect a repairer or cover up their shonky work, however, I will protect the owner of this site from possible litigation. Only problem that may arise from a thread like Roo's suggestion is that hints maybe made as to who the repairer is and we're all too busy to be policing sensitive threads like that every few seconds of the day.........take it to Wasteland or PM I reckon.
  4. Dave I know that you do have evidence only because I had some involvement but to post your thoughts on here would mean you would have to post all of your evidence as well and SAU Mods & Admins would probably not want to be reading for the next 5 days, not to mention that we would have to review everything 1st before you could post.....we do have lives away from SAU. Hope this makes sense. VU, photographic evidence does not speak of circumstances unfortunately so without doing the above as well, photos alone are not a clear indication of an outcome unfortunately.
  5. yeah I appreciate your position George and I see where you're coming from Craig but unless the evidence is at hand, it's still hearsay. Nightcrawler had a similar experience awhile ago and was contacted direct by a business's lawyer (poor Prank had his hands full with a similar situation).......hence why we're a bit anal about publicizing such details on a public forum. But hey, by all means PM each other and go to town on any company that has trashed your pride and joy. Hope you can understand our predicament.
  6. unfortunately, no TRIM functionality whenn SSD's are in RAID 0...but even 1x SSD kicks the butt of a couple SATA's in RAID 0
  7. Steve & Luke This is the case I was telling you guys about tonight. I can get it from my supplier for approx $160 delivered. Fractal Design R2
  8. Correct, I figured that out from his earlier post. In my early days at Adelaide Engine we regularly did alot of maching for tune shops and on occasion (not all of them) we'd come across young employees assembling our machined parts with no qualification whatsoever and guess who got the blame when a motor went bang......subsequently, we'd pull some of these engines apart and on occasion found little balls of silicon trapped in an oil gallery where the assembler got happy with the silicon gun. Needless to say, they'd get our labour bill quick smart......if on the other hand it was our fault, there'd be no charge obviously. Correct again.
  9. yeah I'd have to agree with the majority See if you can change your mates mind with a bit of logic and go with someone who is trustworthy and has the runs on the board = Kristian
  10. yeah yeah yeah....last time I checked, you need 2 arms to steer
  11. like I said, see someone at OCBA first, but I'd be telling him to either fix it or you'll get someone else to fix it and send him the bill. Did he make you sign a waiver that none of his work would be guaranteed....even that piece of paper wouldn't hold any weight if it hasn't been too long since the build. Whether a business offers warranty or not for their work is besides the point, the law requires them to stand by their workmanship..........unless of course it's a race car then I suppose it becomes a moral obligation.
  12. like I said....he's just a jealous boy
  13. err, I was in engine reconditioning for 20 years and we would always stand by our engines.....that comment is a load of cock. if he used s/h bolts or didn't torque them correctly or didn't check brg crush before assembly, etc, etc, etc........then this can happen months done the road.
  14. what did your tuner do? have you checked the simple things like oil level? if you haven't been launching it and your tuner hasn't got a happy foot, I'd be asking questions of the builder. Speak to OCBA first.
  15. probably just jealous
  16. oh heck yeah.....VB's not the worst drink at the local by any stretch.........as a matter of fact, Ive got one now!!
  17. Yeah I know tastes can vary from bottle to can and vice versa........slightly. But if I urinate in a can then tranfer it to glass, me thinks it'll still be urine
  18. or just stand in front of Shane's 350Z while Christine hops out for a sec to check her letterbox........oopsies, sorry Shane
  19. c'mon guys A Mod has already dealt with Cara's comment.........the 7 posts after it where unnecessary and not to mention, not contributing to the topic. Back OT please.
  20. Like I said, a composition style head gasket is more forgiving but even one of those won't help you if you don't resolve why it blew in the 1st place. Don't just throw the old one away if your doing the job yourself cause it may give you a clue......I'd be showing the head and gasket to a mechanic once it's off.
  21. they're trying to follow in the footsteps of Pure Blonde but unfortunately they're 100 paces behind. Munro was kind enough to buy me a Clear in a can at the dinner....was my 1st and my last Pure Blonde on the other hand is a winna
  22. yeah unfortunately I have to look at it this way as well. I wanna take the fam to Europe & the States before I do Japan
