Can't say I disagree with anything you've posted Darren.....the towing of a 25ft caravan that you mentioned is another interesting issue. Amazes me that there aren't any restrictions with towing until a certain level of experience is attained. I think that initially they were gonna make Turbo Diesels exempt under the new Act but now they've included them in the banned list........Farmhands will be able to apply for an exemption under the Act during working hours if accompanied by a letter from the employer me thinks.

Jenna, you make so much good sense here and therefore this post gets 1st prize in this thread 2 good points here: 1/ I'd never consider buying another brand new car if my main concern was how much value it loses when it parts company with a dealer.......new cars would never sell! 2/ Ask any local govt dept or any member of sapol who the main offenders (hoons) are and they'll quickly tell you they are the under 25 group. So we have to thank this group that the genuine motor enthusiasts have been tainted with the same brush......hence making it more difficult to convince the likes of Rann that we need a new Motorsport Complex. I'm hoping by removing high performance vehicles from the genuine hoons that we return to some sort of sensibility with statuatory authorities again and that the word "Hoon" that didn't exist 20 years ago, disappears again.........sorry if this cuts deep amongst the under 25's but I don't give a shit since some of you didn't give a shit when you stuffed it up for the real motor enthusiasts.

Is that what your tuner told you? Your valve timing should never be out, your crank & cams are either in sync or they're not...........what's this safe tolerance business?? Your ignition timing can vary and be within a safe tolerance however. You can run an overly rich motor (which is also bad) but advance the shit out of your ignition timing and still get a high knock count..........why didn't your boys pick the TDC alignment issue up a year ago? No disrespect to your tuners Ben, but even a 60 year old mechanic that's been assembling engines since Noah was a boy may not have the same machining or diagnostic experience as maybe a 35 year old with 20 years of engine reconditioning experience.....they each have their own speacial talents and could no doubt teach each other new tricks of the trade. By the way, I'm only a smidge over 35

Ben you need to calm down or go somewhere else to play. On your statements of mechanical knowledge, where you putting me in that group as well?? I was involved in engine reconditioning for more than 3/4 of your life and can no doubt teach your boys at Road & Track a few things..........I'll grant you that they would have me in the tuning department. A block's thickness is totally indicative to a rod spinning a shell or a land cracking......you can blow engines in a bad way without an inspection hole in the side to show for it. If as you said, your valve timing has been out for a year or 2 and you've hammered it like I've seen thru the Adelaide Hills, your pistons are probably itching to let go as we speak. Anyway, calm down.....we're only talking car shit between friends.

Ben, you'd be doing well to do over 320 atw with stock ECU & AFM's but at 20-22 psi, it's not just bottom end you'd have to consider in a daily, get used to cooler hoses popping off in peak hour traffic on your way to work just for starters.....and your $$ figure for all those mods with labour will see it double very easily

So they adjusted your ignition timing to compensate for incorrect cam & crank sync??............never gonna work You probably won't know your car once you get both sorted.........also, I wouldn't be running 20 psi on N1's for a daily
