R34 Gtt To R32 Gtr Engine Conversion....help Appreciated
SLED replied to elir32's topic in South Australia
Eli, what you're contemplating is a hell of a lot of work, that will see you off the road for a very long time, that will not get you through Regency, and if none of that phases you and you still go ahead with it, the final product will still be a 34gtt that's worth buggar all -
yeah but you 2 guys are dealing in logic....these online companies havn't come across that word yet
-
Very true Krish and unfortunately, the very 1st cop that sees it will throw the book at it. One thing that you should be aware of Josh, displaying your plates on here can get you a letter in the post asking demanding you present your car for full inspection

That's good to hear. We get a lot of negative feedback from various shops so it's nice when we can pat someone on the back from time to time. I've known John from Southern Hi Tech since he was a teenager and can vouch for his work..... some may not know that the guy was on the V8 Supercars team many years ago.

Gee Steve, next time we rig up a fleet car or delivery truck for surveillance I'll remind myself that we can't do it We've been doing it for donkey's years bud
-
Hahaha, with over 800cc per cyl at hi-comp, I'd have a peg leg in no time......or a calf the size of Nightcrawler's thighs Thanks for the info bud, I'll def look into lithuim ion units next time the bike eats a battery
-
All good info Troy. I need something better for the bike as it doesn't have compression releases on each cylinder and as a consequence it eats batteries regularly. Modifying for compression releases costs way too much so I'm thinking that there might be a battery from the link you gave to Luke that may last a little longer....ideas??

saw that awhile ago Ben....awesome!! Here is the follow up video....apparently Karl passed away just over a year ago This is an interesting reply to a question as to "why doesn't the truck move at full throttle/"

LOL John, we've gone from Track Days to Winnebagos !! ....so while we're on the subject, I sold my luxury monster last week for $65K so I may come & have another look in your yard. I'm guessing that amount of cash will only be good for a deposit on a new bus

What Does One Do When You Get To The Cross Roads?
SLED replied to SkyHi_33's topic in South Australia
yeah that's the biggest problem with old cars........bottomless pit unfortunately!! You're better off biting the bullet and forking out the extra $$ for something newer these days....not to mention that it keeps sapol off your back. As they say, "the poor man always pays twice". -
^^^ Yeah, the young fella there (Alex) is a very nice lad too....always willing to go that extra mile to keep the customer happy

That's the key though Troy..."if you know what to buy". There were over 2000 classic cars at the Mecum Auctions in Florida (which went over 6 days) with many selling for more than the cost of a family home......and that's with the shitty economy they're having too. -

Purely my opinion Marko but since you're asking I'm sure you'd want honest responses. If it was a GTR....keep it! The fact that it's a r33 gts (not even a 32 or 34), it is unfortunately the least sought after car of all the Skyline family. Unfortunately it's worth very little now and unless it's going to finish up like Matty's (whatshisname) ride, it probably won't be worth much more with the extra mods. IMHO, flog it and invest bud. -
Simple....they even gave it a name...It's called a "Joyride"....therefore (according to existing law) it's not technically theft. As I said earlier, this is a different case because parts were stripped off the vehicle and it wasn't abandoned.
-
No it doesn't.....however, it won't be classed as "illegal use" (usually a slap on the wrist) because they didn't go for a joyride and burn it....they actually kept it and stripped parts off it. It now becomes "grand theft auto"........heavier penalty for them and better chance for you to claim material damages but they'll probably still only get a kick up the bum instead of a slap on the wrist. A lot of you may remember years ago when the laws first changed from an automatic theft charge to an illegal use charge (much softer penalty, if any). ...and it's all because some smart arsed lawyer set a precedent in place by successfully defending some little thieving prick by convincing the judge that he merely 'borrowed the car' and had full intention of returning it.....what a load of cock!! If you were living in Africa you could ask the judge to have one of his hands cut off and the judge may actually oblige your request Laws are pretty soft in this country when it comes to car theft unfortunately.

Back in the day, a burnout across the start line wasn't a problem but a static burnout in certain areas was a big problem to avoid ripping up the surface. Wasn't there but that may have been the reason.

interesting how markets have changed since this thread was started only 7 mths ago. We were saying that Adelaide prices were still on their way down with no light at the end of the tunnel while interest rates were still on their way up. Today is a different story though...we have already experienced 2 interest rate drops with a another .25% drop predicted for the Feb quarter. Analysts are now singing a much better tune, predicting a full 1% drop in rates by the RBA before the year is out....if this does in fact happen and unemployment doesn't rise, we'll most likely see a 'mini-boom' by the following year me thinks. Other contributing factors are the fact that it has now been 11 years since the last (bigger than usual) housing boom and these sort of things tend to be cyclical as proven over the last few decades....another factor is that Adelaide prices have now sunken to their lowest and are expected to just flat-line this year.....a flat-line in the market after such a depressed market is what property investors always look out for, so expect them to start spending again as the year progresses.....this will also add fuel to the 'mini-boom'. Having said that, until rents literally double, we won't be seeing a housing boom as big as the last one......not before I'm ready to retire anyway.

Agreed Martin...this is outta here!

Cosi, I spoke to Grant Zipple about this cruise last week.....it's generally focused around American Muscle cars but unlike the "Zipple Cruises", this one allows Imports. They expect anything up to 700 cars

Merry Christmas Martin & Kier....and everyone else...............man, I've eaten way too much
