Can they just issue defects on their "proffesional oppinion" or do they actaully have to measure it first. I mean otherwise they could practicly defect u for ANYTHING even when the car is perfectly fine which is pretty lame. I always thought it was more like, they find something wrong on your car and have physical proof of this (ie; measure the height, measure the db level etc). Then the car can be defected and u have to fix up the things wrong and get it cleared. But it appears as though its more a case of the cop going "I think thats illegal, so i'll defect you and fine you", what if the cops opinion is wrong? what if ur db level is under? Your the one who has to foot the fine and waste your time and effort getting it cleared. that cant be right can it?

Thats exactly what i'm talking about. Isn't that a kind of discrimination? I'm sure if we're being discriminated against its means to lodge a formal complaint. This cops a cleva one but he was bound to slip up sorner or later, i say if u get done by him, pounce on this opportunity becauase what he's doing is not fair in the slightest. It has nothing to do with saving lives or making the road safer for other people. It has nothing to do with people braking road traffic rules. It has everything to do with a personell grudge and revenue raising. It's actualy getting beyond a joke now. He pulled an illegal (no sirens = he must obey normal road rules) U turn which put OTHER motorists in danger just to pull over a soarer with rims (do a search on ns.com) If he's gonna pick on modified cars he better do his homework and apply the law to everyone rather than just picking on imports

yes i love that video but theres several things u need to remember mazai circuit has many tight low speed corners, very short straight away sections The drivers of the ae86 were PRO drivers and hte gtr driver is an amatuer. The weight difference severley hurt the gtr on that track due to there being so many corners. Personally I think that 6 grand for a mildly modded aus spec ae86 is a pretty good price. 100kw + 950 kg = fun

Thats only for VT + comos But the vn, vp, vs and vr are over. My mate got pulled over by mr pettet and was in a 5.0ltre vp bt1. Didnt get done for capacity to weigh even when his car's clearly over. Yet i read so many threads of people geting done for power/weight in their nissans etc so is this not a case of discrimination by car type? I mean, if ur going to be absolutely anal about your job and uphold the law, u might as well cover the ENTIRE law instead of just hte segments that suit you (ie, fueled by a hatred of imports)

That was a really wierd and stupidly put together segment. They go on about how P platers are inexperienced bla bla bla, leads to crashes. Then try to blame car adds because of this. wtf? It makes no sense. How does a snazzy car add lead to inexperienced drivers dieing? The reason that girl was invovled in a car crash is because of pure stupididty. You do not stop a car in raining conditions in the middle of road when theres poor visibility, u park on the side of the road. DER! Sooner or later the media is going to run out of scapegoats to pin this on and they'll have to do some real work and research and present the real facts. one thing about the p/w ratio, there is a coresponding capacity to weight ratio that your not allowed to exceed. My mate got pulled over by mr p for speeding and he was driving his bt1 vp como 5.0ltre, which is illegal for p platers. But all he got done for was speeding. Now i dont know whether this was just uneducation on mr P's behalve or what it could be. But this same officer has also fined many people for being over the power/weight limit in sr20det powered cars (use ur imagination )
