Well, Heikis car went bang....Lewis has had an amazing run of reliability. Its not out of this world possible that he has a mechanical problem or falls victim to first corner dramas, but i hope that is not the case. We saw enough of that with MS. Anything is still possible, hell this time when he clips the wall in the wet he may have suspension fail. Or someone may run into him in the pits. Or someone on the better tyre for the conditions may force him onto the grass in the wet...or his car can just go bang. Is this race the second race for the engine

What Do You Like Best About Your Rb30det
Roy replied to Guilt-Toy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
meh...cavemen! -
That sort of lift cams may beed to relieve the head for clearance. They also sound like Procams which means you need new valves springs and solid lifters....so thats a lot of money for a head. 3lit3 32 ... any credible before / after dyno runs with the cams on teh same dyno / tuner?
-
Yeh, i have a seat but i dont leave it in when i am doing lots of street driving. Before PI it was a rush to get tune leaned on for more power and new tyres fitted, so seat was left in the bedroom...i miss it when its not in the car. Yeh, since i am not tracking my car at present i welcome the R32 brotherhood borrow some parts to help us all suss out what works and where we can improve our respective steeds Bumpy Lakeside will be a real test for them and you are a more experienced driver then me so any thoughts would probably be more accurate then mine. LOL, but i would love to see an in car vid to see how the car is handlling/driving with them

Gearing could be different. But mine is pretty damn short anyway. Just keep an eye on if you were run 4th gear to 7,000rpm what speed it equates to? The gearing of the GTSt (tyre diam permitting) is that if you have the std ECU then you hit the speed limit and the rev limit in 4th gear pretty damn close together. So top of 4th gear is typically around 180km/h at 7,500rpm. LOL, i use every one of those revs as the turbo needs it You can see the gearing is pretty short as i am almost running out of revs in 5th gear and i am only about 235km/h http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=y2az4jeRzvg Oh and Ben, this was my car with the Bilsteins pre Teins. It has settled down a lot with regards to pitching under brakes and lift off oversteer, all the nasty stuff

Changing R32 Upper Arm Design To R34
Roy replied to bnr#@'s topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
UAS has some being engineered. Must be getting close. I have found the Noltec arms far more durable then the bushes i was ripping through at an alarming rate -
Blitz Dual Soliniod Boost Controller

Can you clarify which one it is? Or If it is the top one, ID Spec R? What colour is it. Odds are i will take it. -
I knew Lakeside is quick and the entry on to the straight is quick...lol from watchin Touring car races Just surprised as my car is only a tad quicker down the straight at PI and its all down hill, copme onto the straight similarily in top of 4th into 5th so at about 180km/h...and i have substantially more power?!?! So it seems that my extra grunt is only good for another 5-10km/h

R33 Gtr Aftermarket Rotors And Calipers
Roy replied to GtrVspec's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I trial fitted them to my car. Nice kit, basically an AP kit, only you need to make sure you get the 355mm kit and not the 330mm kit. Difference being the 330mm kit is 26mm thick and the 355mm kit is 32mm. On an S13 etc the 26mm thick rotor may be ok...but on larger more powerful cars you really want the extra width in the rotor...i think:) They have a loyal following and i will admit the rotor hats are beatifully designed -
I just want a phone call when the usual punters are at the strippers

Is that a Velo seat? LOL, i find myself wanting to buy your RX7, looks very cool!

Did Joel have any soft porn photos of models? Bugger, i always miss the good stuff

6,900rpm in 5th is moving. I think thats about the sort of revs i hit down the straight at PI? Is that possible? I guess that means you were over 225km/h. Harry, what is done to the Supra? I mean tyres and suspension wise? I dont know Lakeside lap times...but it seems the thing gets along well

R33 Gtr Aftermarket Rotors And Calipers
Roy replied to GtrVspec's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Considering the tyre and suspension, i would suggest you just get some good pads, and good fluid. Remove the dust shields and consider some braided lines. Though as Lotus will suggest...dont let me anywhere near youcar come fitment of said goodies Spend you money on better suspension rather then too mcuh on brake hardware. If your rotors are shot then consider some DBA 5000 or preferably direct replacement 2 pce Endless or Project U rotors. As for pads i have really liked Endless CCX, though its possible they are hard on rotors. Though my car having problems with DBA 4000 and RDA rotors and the CCX pads is hardly enough evidence to support that theory -
R33 Gtr Aftermarket Rotors And Calipers
Roy replied to GtrVspec's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
But what power is your car making? What tyres, what wheel size what suspension? You may find that being an R33 that you can get away with good quality pads and decent vented rotors, at a minimum DBA5000 but preferably something better -
Yeh, Renault are good with ING, they haev lsot money but the relationship with F1 has been very positive for them, they are still strong despite all the current agro, but despite all this have just been guaranteed money to ensure confidence as they have declared a loss for the 3rd quarter But yeh, by by Williams with RBS, Lenovo etc all struggling and in smelly piles of dog poo

R33 Gtr Aftermarket Rotors And Calipers
Roy replied to GtrVspec's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Willwood make great calipers and they make cheap made to a price stuff. They make too many calipers in my opinion and relegate themselves to the too hard basket unless you have really dont your homework. Their good stuff is good but as you said expensive. Budget is king with brakes, consider what you are willing to spend and go shopping, as budget will dictate. New you will be looking at up to 4k for fronts and similar money for rears, but common rear upgrade is just the GTR Brembo, or the N1 rear which uses bigger rotors again with a similar Brembo two piston caliper. The 50% track and 50% road thing is all in the pad selection. If you have enough rotor to dissipate the heat then you can get away with a pad that may do both...but the trade off is wheel size requried to run brakes, whih means expensive rubber, more unsprung weight etc etc. So, finding the right brakes at the right price sux -
So is that the baseline time? What tyres did you have on it? Interesting to see how the green meanies go in your thing, especially on a bumpy, sweeping track like Lakeside

Well, i cant wait for next season What i have learnt from this year. Heikki is the new Fisi, good driver, but not special enough to shine in a good car let alone carry a bad one. Vettel vs Webber is going to be the highlight of next year....either way we find out if Webber really is the most deserving guy in F1 or whether equal to the equipment he has been hired to drive. If Jr keeps his seat then Renault have really mellowed now they arent WDC pace. And finally Lewis, will be interesting if he mellows as WDC or really lets fly now he has the silverware

Rh9 Gtr Makes 904hp At Autosalon
Roy replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
BS, what size injectors, what sort of dyno. What mph has it run....blah, blah, blah! LOL, thought i would just fast forward the next 10 pages -
I am watching it on Star Sports, i supose that is one benefit of being in India I finally think i have now become apathetic to Lewis So ... i would still rather see Massa win the WDC but i think the schmuk winning a WDC and continuing to be a nob is inevitable. No point fighting it

Rain...hehe, well sadly Mclaren look supreme in the wet, but who knows if Hamo can keep clear off the line

I am OS at present but if you could pm me your email address. I would be interested in some more pics, engine bay, interior etc. Also does it have an intercooler, R32 loom, what suspension . How long have you owned the car, did you do the engien transplant etc etc etc. Does the aircon function? Retractable mirrors still function? Windows work properly? Is it a HICAS model? Sorry about all the questions but really interested. I was planning on getting a Cossie Sierra for my 80s cool fix but have always wanted another GTSX
