  1. Well, are you in Melbourne and are they 100% gutter rash free? Tyres?
  2. That an R32 and R they for sale?
  3. Great thanks. Re the plugs. Mine are new as of 8000km ago, but the coil packs are original (120***kms). What are the chances it's the plugs versus the coils? I'll ask the same question of the guy who reckons it's the coil packs. Thanks Sean.
  4. I'm told by someone doing other work on my car that I'm in need of these. Rough idle apparently. Let's start at the beginning. What EXACTLY do coil packs do? What might I expect by way of symptoms if they need replacing? What brands are recommended? I note JJR, Splitfire, and OEM Nissan seem to be the range. What are tired and tested? What is the go? Do I need to go to the dyno once they're fitted? What else do I need to know? Thanks.
  5. Yup, I got told this too by my mechanic. He was able to adjust the idle down with the Power FC. Still about 1000 at idle. Said it's a real fiddle to fix.
  6. Right, the Targa car will have to run 17" rims so hence 343mm rotors. That right?
  7. Thanks. Never heard of the set up you've described, but good feedback. Is that on a 32/33/34? Interested to know if that is what you've put the 17/16 bmc onto as per the other thread.
  8. I had a great chat with Sebastion who sells these brakes, and was pretty impressed overall. I am interested in comments or feedback from people who have run these brakes in their GTRs, especially on the track. Anyone care to share their experience? I'm looking at 355 6 pot front and 343 single pot rear. Cheers, Nick.
  9. Phunky, these fitted yet? How you going with them?
  10. Er, R32 GTR V Spec? It seems to have been suggested above that the std R32 GTR size is 1" and the V Spec is 17/16"? Where did you get this from, for $350? Nissan are quoting me $500-$600 and have 6 different types to choose from. I need to supply them a chassis number for them to know which one, as the details are all in Japanese. It's a shit fight!
  11. I've just gone through the same condundrum. I run 300RWKW and have just done a track day at Phillip Island. I spoke at length with my mechanic who said the sump baffle is a big job and not necessary for what I'm doing (sprint work / track days / fairly std brakes and R specs). I'd still like one though, but perhaps next time the engine is out (not soon I hope) They changed my oil and overfilled my sump by 500ml. I run an oil cooler and have a large after market alu radiator. My main bearnings are machined for extra oil flow around them too. It pulled like a train all day and the temp gauge never moved - and I never lost oil pressure. The car came home happy. p.s. I have my beautiful new engine as the last one went pop at a track day, so there is danger without adequate precautions. The track is a stressful place.
  12. Calipers are very likely to be Alcon 6 pots. I guess I should get the Alcon piston area stats and compare to the Sumitomos right?
  13. OEM brake master cylinder kit for an R32 GTR is $85 USD. I don't know what it has in it but it says it's suitable for an 'overhaul' http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm/Nissan-OEM-Bra...line-GT-R-53712 Hope this helps.
  14. Thanks but I just picked one up from a wrecker for exactly that amount.
  15. Does you know where to get a v spec 1 1/16 m/c or an r33 1 1/16 with ABS (which seem to be the same) reading other threads?
  16. Fantastic thread. Just what I need. So, the R32 m/c seems to be the same as the R33, except for the bore is up by 1/16"? That being the case I need an R33 m/c that is either reco'ed, in great condition, or is new. Where from?
  17. Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I have a leaky master on my povo pack R32 GTR. I'd like to get it reconditioned, but don't want to do so if it is too small for a 'big brake' upgrade. I'm being told that the R32 V spec / R33 1 1/16 would be better suited for larger piston areas. I'm also being told (on the other contradictory hand) don't bother, the std 1" master will be fine, just get it reco'ed and away you go, std brakes / big brakes doesn't matter. Any thoughts? Cheers.
  18. I think this may be for me? The answer is I think so. 8 hardish stops from 120 - 60, then drove normally on them for 500kms before getting them on the track. How does that sound? Let's assume this is not adeque running in, what now in your opinion?
  19. I had a chat with someone 'in the know' last night and they confirmed exactly this. Up to 365mm Alcons in the R34 rims and up to 380mm with TE37s etc.
  20. Thanks. How much would you want?
  21. Right. 375 is a MASSIVE rotor right? I'm guessing 365 would be way larger than anythingf I'd need.
  22. That's appreciated but that one is for a 33 not a 32. Where the torque gague is, the 32 has 'volts' which is really useless but the main cluster already has the torque gauge so no need for it again. Cheers anyways.
  23. Anyone got a 100% working one of these? My oil temp gauge doesn't work and I need a new one. I'm in Vic. Thanks, Nick.
  24. Thanks for that. So, the internal diameter of the R34 rims is less due to their design despite the fact that the external diameter is the same? Cheers.
