Nah mate. Got rims a plenty.

The ATTESSA controller, is the Ruzdic engineering the one to go for? Are there alternatives? Be interesting to read up on these. Thanks for your input.

'boss' Drive On A Twin Plate Clutch

So, does this have a sprung centre? Sure looks like a series of small springs in the middle jigga? -
'boss' Drive On A Twin Plate Clutch

Thanks. So boss drive = solid centre? -
Great info. Thank you. Yeah, good point re the 4wd system. I guess I have a switch to 'lose' the fronts for a little sideways action so am interested in the diff as a 2wd set up too. I'll look into all the points you've raised.

Bump. Welcome to Monday for those who surf at work.

My goal is to find a twin plate clutch that as much as possible will be tractable and quiet and at the same time hold 350RWKW (which I don't have but I might one day and can't be stuffed doing the whole clutch thing twice. I've got 300). In my searches I've found a Nismo Coppermax and Exedy 'something or other' twin. I've come a cross the term 'boss drive' and would like to know what this is and what it means in terms of how the clutch will perform. Also, I understand clutches with sprung centres reduce vibration and chatter? Any suggestions in terms of me finding a clutch that meets the above criteria will be gratefully received. Cheers.

OK. So I've been on the Nismo site and yes the TT is the milder diff, contrary to the advice I thought I'd been given by a vendor! Sounds like that'd be more suitable for my application. Next hurdle is the 1.5 way versus the 2 way (or other brands.....). I understand the std R32 GTR rear diff is a 2 way, but that it is quite a slack diff? So not too aggressive. I also understand the 2 way locks as much on decel as accel, but don't beleive that this relates specificaly to how aggresive the diff is e.g. the skipping and chattering etc but this inference seems to have been drawn in some threads.....? So, what is the effect of a 2 way compared to a 1.5 way both in terms of its livability day to day and its performance as a diff when its doing its stuff (its....) Thanks.
-
Thanks. so did you put the Nismo kit in your std diff?
-
Thanks for that. It will have R spec and won't be a daily but that all sounds like a lot of agro. I was told by the supplier the TT was for track use........Best I do some more research. Any other opinions or experiences out there?
-
Perhaps then the lower setting would be useful for the road? Given occasional track use and some road use what other diffs do you think I could be looking at? Thanks.
-
Yeah, mine does it too until it's warm. Mechanic tensioned slackened and tensioned again. didn't shift it. It's a low level whining that seems to slowly disappear as the engine gets temps. It's almost like a cistern filling. I know that sounds wierd but that describes it for me. p.s. my belt is new and I've got adj cam gears.

Bump for the weekend crew! Someone must want some forged lighweight mint condition rims. They look the goods on a silver r32 and many more I'm sure.

When I got my new zorst my tuner was adamant that it had to have a legit high flow cat due to his exposure if the EPA caught up with me. So, I'll presume based on his reputation and his self confessed, self preserving ways, that is what I got. The other half of this story is my car blows big flames. I've caught them in my side mirrors in full day light and at a recent track day I was told it was blowing flames 'big time'. The back of the car needed a cut after the track day which I'll put down to flames or a toxic over rich mixture, or both...... It runs super rich when you give it the full pedal, so I guess plenty to burn with a hot pipe. That's my experience.....

I suspect my LSD is getting tired so I'm investigating a newie. I've come up with the Nismo Pro 1.5. It comes in 2 versions, one of which is adjustable for how much it locks up. It has three settings (low / med / high) depending on what use you've got for it. This can be adjusted externally on the side of the diff housing with a socket set. All you got to do is get the car on a hoist or some ramps / stands and away you go. Cost difference is $170 so negligible in the scheme of things.... So the question is.....in the real world how useful would this feature be? And is it reliable? I guess it's Nismo, but it also sounds like something else to go wrong..... Thoughts?

Bump for the night owls.

More pics. All PMs replied.

No idea sorry. I'm sure if you search this forum you can find out. There is a wheel fitment and offset guide on here somewhere.
-
Thanks . They are indeed that size and offset. Might be worth mentioning the powdercoat job was back to bare metal. Both chemically stripped and sandblasted. You won't get a better quality job. A pity they have to go.

Item: 4 x R33 GTR Rims with centre caps - no tyres Age: Unknown Condition: MINT Price: $1,200 To Fit: R32/33 GTR and others Location: Melb SE Contact: PM or thread Comments: These rims have been hot powdercoated Precious Steel Pearl and have never had the tyres fitted. They are literally in mint condition. There are no nicks, dints, scratches, rashes. They are literally in brand new condition. Reason for selling is my brake upgrade plan just got bigger and I now need 18s.
-
Troy! I'm confused enough. I'm sticking with AP. I don't reckon 380 will fit under my rims and I'm sure 356 / 365 is more than enough for me. I bet your option is bigger $$ too.....
-
I'm pretty sure I get what you're saying, but my application is road and sprints. Far less arduous than the racing utes, so I'll assume your description of 'road' extends to light track applications?
