  1. Hey guys, thanks for your replies. Why Splitfire and not Nissan? Let's take price out of the equation in the answer to this.
  2. Sounds like the coils then.....I think they're now $625ish. Nissan wants $1,200.... Gearbox is OK. Bit of bearing noise and 2nd synchro could be better. Long way better than my old one, but I'm still looking for the gearbox holy grail.
  3. Got a misfire. It's most noticeable in 2nd under full throttle and it starts misfiring at about 5500rpm. In 4th at about 5000 rpm full throttle. I'm guessing it's coilpacks. In all other regards she's running fine. I'm sure other gears too but these are the stand out occasions. Is this likely? Cheers.
  4. Aaaaargh. So close again. Bute wheels.
  5. If you need a hand, I can return a favour. First dibs if they don't fit.
  6. Yep. I've sourced a 5th R34 GTR wheel and will have something fabricated to hold it down in the boot recess as best as possible. Oh the joys of modifying cars.
  7. Well from the templates posted above (which I already had) the cl of wheel to outside of caliper radially is 203mm. Allow 5mm clearance and you've got 416mm. Phunky is going to use the template on his rims and let me know so we'll see how that goes.
  8. Agreed. I was suprised that a 17" rim would yield 416 ID which is approx what I'd need for the 355s.
  9. Wow. 17" is 432 mm. If I need 416 ID that's 8mm per 'side' left over to make the body of the rim. Can I ask how you 'know' this (other than being the revered BB of course). Own personal experience? Cheers. The 17" option looks good, thoughI bet they're just as hard to find.....
  10. You got a PM......EDIT which you can now ignore as we spoke and the offset ain't no good for me
  11. Thanks for the info and the offer. Trial fit would be fantastic. I'll give you a shout once the brakes are on the beast. I guess the ID needs to be something like 416mm and the measurement from the outer face of the disk to the inner side of the spoke needs to be about 70mm.
  12. PM me your number mate. I'll give you a call.
  13. AP CP5555 and 355. Got anything? Maybe, just for instants TE37s 18 x 9.5 + 22 (my dream wheel?)
  14. After brakes come rims.......Ok, to open up the field with rim selection, who knows of any 17" rims that will clear my coming soon set up? Clearly both in diameter and laterally? Such a thing? 17" will give me cheaper tyres, the rims may be cheaper themselves and I've heard that 17 x 9.5 is the optimum handling size for an R32 GTR...... Thoughts? Suggestions?
  15. Bumping this up. Let's see you best gentlemen! Cash waiting. I'll go broke with a nice set of rims. You hopefully won't.
  16. I've just check this for the first time in 2 years of owning my R as I'm about to go on a long trip. I'm pretty sure its never been out of the boot so I checked the pressure which was 13psi. I pumped it up to 32psi as I couldn't convert 4.2kgs/cmsq to psi on the spot (the rest is in Japanese so I'm presuming this is a max or recommended pressure) so thought I stop there. When I got to the office I came up with 4.2 kgs/cmsq = 59psi which sounds very high..... So my question is a) can someone confirm that 4.2 is 59 and b) that this sounds right? At 32psi the thing bounces like a like a rock........ Thanks.
  17. Another off topic 'does my bum look big in this' question, thoughts on these re lateral clearance? I'm hating the red lip (but that can be sorted fairly easily) and I'm not sure about white (but that can be sorted too). They are light and Rays and forged and hopefully have good clearances and there are a couple of pairs floating around at a relatively good price.....
  18. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ge...Wh-t238964.html Reckon these suckers will clear me new brakes laterally? New brakes = R34 Brembo = R32 GTR plus 15mm in terms of required lateral clearance. Long shot I know. Reckon the'yre too similar for a second set anyhows?
  19. PWR. They are curved vane but other than that I know nothing of them. I ran it past 'Roy' and he had no experience of them other than to say they do some high end OEM stuff so couldn't be too bad. We'll see. If anyone thinks they're no good, then keep it to yourself and let me find out for myself....!
  20. Yeah, I'll find out about the virues of great brakes soon enough. My pricing does not include AP rotors (they will add $), and I've heard many people advise against floating rotors be they bobbin types or strap drive. Bobbins are noisy and prone to wear and strap drive are apparently very fickle and easy to break can't be machined, don't like reverse braking etc etc. Mine are semi flaoting i.e. they have a tiny amount of lateral movement to allow for some thermal expansion, but that is all. The calipers have knock back springs so this goes someway to addressing knock off. Warning - I might sound like I know what I'm talking about but really I'm regurgitating what others have told me. Remember, I've not even had the brake fitted yet. Three months ago I was writing to this forum for advice on how to make my standard set up work..........
  21. Thank you Ryan, but I'm hanging out for forged jobbies.....
  22. I doubt you're poor Mr BB.......
  23. $6.8k.....Hurts just writing it down . From my searches this is a good price too. There are many who will ask $5 to $5.5 for fronts only but to be fair the parts on offer do vary.
  24. Still looking. R32 GTR offset.
