  1. That looks.... interesting. I've never seen a picture of it on here, but it might be a member. Where did you find the photo?
  2. Thats gold Sounds like a P-plater or stolen car to me. But I am biased against p-platers and car thieves in general...
  3. Just checked their website and found the fees for this specific car park: Day 0.0 - 0.5 hour $4.00 0.5 - 1.0 hour $15.50 1.0 - 2.0 hours $36.00 2.0 + hours $48.00 Max Night & Weekend $5.00 per hour, $15.00 Max Early Bird Special $16.00 I think I'm in the wrong business!
  4. I'll definitely look for street parking in future. Unfortunately I was in a hurry (as most people are when looking for hospitals) and went to the closest one I could see. I assume this is what the owner of the car park is counting on. Didn't see a price board anywhere either, but I wasn't looking too hard. To anyone who is in a similar situation - park, rush your patient in and then go back and move the car to a cheaper location! The first 30 minutes is usually less than $5.
  5. Just got a bit of a shock after taking a family member to the Eye and Ear hospital on Victoria Pde. I parked in a Wilsons Parking garage with a big "Hospital Parking" sign outside. We were there for just over 4 hours and the total cost came to $45. I've worked in the CBD for many years and never paid over $25 for parking at one of these places no matter how long I was there. Used to park at Crown casiono for $5 a day... Have the prices been jacked up in the last 6 months or did I just manage to find the one place that charges excessive prices? Do hospital parking garages cost more? Combine the cost of fuel and parking and a taxi would have been only a little more expensive
  6. I personally think you're not going to get out of this one. You might want to talk to a lawyer and see what they say. No one on here is going to be able to give you the advice a good lawyer can. Note that I said GOOD lawyer, not the guy who runs a small practice down the street next to the fish and chip shop. If they do book you as a p-plater I assume it would be 3 points for not displaying plates, plus points for driving a high powered vehicle (is that a points offence??) so you will possibly lose your license all together.
  7. ACA and TT are terrible "news" shows. I'd be surprised if anyone actually takes them seriously. They're the televised version of New Idea and Womens Weekly. Also - inb4 al33x having a baw about a Skyline "hoon" thread.
  8. You had me confused, but now it all makes sense Top thread btw!
  9. Shocked about something... or just whoring it up??
  10. Taken from his original For Sale thread: "its a gtst with rb30e motor n 5spd fitted , good luck with your sale bro" "it is currantly unregod because i got defected and didnt have money to clear tha defect its jst tha exghust that need changing or jst tha tip .." So its an R31/VL motor, the car is defected, it needs work, its been up for sale at a cheap price for a fair amount of time. I'd say avoid it and find a non turbo in good running order with reg and rwc. Check the for sale section on here and I'm sure you'll find a good car at a decent price.
  11. Its a turbo thats had a non turbo motor put in. I'm not sure what the laws are where you are, but if you're not allowed to drive a turbo, even with the engine swap this may not be legal to drive. Sounds like it might need a bit of work. If it was so simple to hook the speedo up surely he would do it. Is the motor an RB25/30 or is it an RB30 from an R31/VL commodore? Theres so little info in his ad. If you're not really mechanically minded I'd have someone who knows what they're doing have a look over it. Could be more trouble than its worth. You might be better off buying a car for a few thousand more with reg and rwc supplied.
  12. Can you give more info on the car? A link to the ad or copy and past might help. Pictures of the engine bay would be a bonus. Find out who built and installed the engine if possible.
  13. You can have a look through goobike.com to get an idea of whats available and prices: http://www.goobike.com/cgi-bin/search/sear...cgi?genre_id=09
  14. My car prior to the accident:
  15. Excellent Graeme. You're a credit to the force
  16. That seems like a decent price for the car. I'd be happy with it. Might see it in a couple of years fully restored.
  17. Third party insurance and it involved a serious accident where a person ran a red light at over 80kmh. I started a thread about it a few months ago. My solicitors required the police to take a witness statement from a person. The officer in charge of the matter was in hospital for surgery and was away for 3 weeks. The other officers I spoke to at the station had the "not my problem attitude", it wasn't until I had my solicitor contact them and a few stern phone calls that anything was actually done. This delayed the legal process by close to a month and probably cost me more in legal fees, not to mention an extra month without a car and a month where the only witness to the incident could have been run over by a bus. One of the other incidents involved a hit and run. I went straight to the police station and reported it. The attitude of the officer was appalling, as someone mentioned above, he acted as if I had no business interrupting him. I have a couple of relatives who are officers, both are fed up with the attitude of their fellow officers and their complete lack of work ethic. Unfortunately it seems to be causing the good ones to leave. If these people don't want to do their job, they should find a new profession. If I acted like this at work I would be disciplined or fired.
  18. Don't think I would want to be at that familys christmas dinner 150kmh in a supercar in an 80kmh zone isn't a very good idea, as was shown when that guy killed himself and a girl out at Seville in a Ferrari a couple of years ago.
  19. Did you film it? Videos of squids hurting themselves is usually hilarious. For instance: No throttle control, terrible balance and only waring helmet and gloves.
  20. Listed on ebay with a starting price of $1000: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...T#ht_500wt_1182
  21. I've dealt with several officers in the last 6 months who've shown no interest in doing their job, one of which involved a person running a red light and totaling my car. You should call crime stoppers or that hoon line, pass on all the details and then report the cop who you spoke to. If he's not willing to do his job or take the time to at least pass the details on he should quit or be fired..
  22. Very true. If they really want the car they will get it no matter what security you have.
  23. "Police said the driver will have to pay almost $1000 in fines and fees for collecting his car from the impounding yard." I don't think he'll be overly concerned about the $1000 considering he owns a car that costs hundreds of thousands.
  24. Price drop to $300 firm. PM me your postcode for a courier quote.
