  1. Pinging sounds just like that, a metalic pinging. Not real helpful, sorry. Re-setting your ecu should not be a problem - at the very least it happens if you get a flat battery.
  2. seat base should come all the way out independantly.... Thats right! (its all coming back to me now!). The seat base is also clipped into the metal under it, make sure you gently pop these out too - directly upwards.
  3. Seat base first with bolts under the leading edge. Lift it up and forward. Seat upright second, bolts at the bottom outside edges and lift up to release the hooks at the top on the back side. ...oh...gtr...well, thats for a 33t...couldn't see it being that different.
  4. I whacked a cat in the GSR - saw it crossing the road, changed lanes to give a wide berth and then before you know, its freaked out, doubled back and gone right under the front passanger wheel. Biggest thing in the skyline.....one hellave a big bug - there was a dull thud and then the most massive 'splat' mark I have ever seen. Hopefully, this will remain the largest thing I ever connect with in the speedskyzer....
  5. The 'double whammy' push is the dual stage boost. Standard, it runs 5psi and and then ups it to 7psi. Not sure how this will affect your higher boost - suppose it depends on how you have wound it up....
  6. You can usually get it at a supermarket with a big range of metho, kero, dry cleaning fluid etc. (it is another variation of same). Sounds like persistence might be the only way to get it off!! Have you tried a plastic knife? (sharp and fine edged yet not as harsh and damaging as a metal one).
  7. What does the SLIP and LSD-A mean? They are both ON! ... wats wrong with the car and how much to get it fix? On permentantly? Thats a problem, however, if they just 'flicker' thats means they are doing their job. By the way, it might be worth your while doing a search on both those features, if I am not mistaken, you have scored some fairly rare options on your car. And my front lights flicker a little when i turn on the car, any way of fixing that. can it be done at home? How much to get it done? When you turn the engine over, the headlights will 'dim' because of the current being drawn from the battery in order to start the motor. Its the same reason that the stereo will 'turn off' when you start the motor. i was installing new head unit and undid a few wires, there was a little smoke and my clock stopped working. DO i need a new one, or can i just reconnect the wires, I'm just not sure what wires to reconnect. but the system works fine. How much to get this fix? Smoke is never a good sign... Start by checking the fuses, then the integrety the wiring in the vicinity of the clock (or where the smoke came from). At the risk of stating the obvious, the clock will not work until you re-wire it. And i have to change the seals because water is getting into my boot and when there's heavy rain, it gets little damp under the floor mats. How much do get all seals redone? Do a search for a few recent threads concerning water leaks in the boot - odds on it is not the rubber seals but rather the panel join seal. Is there water in the rear of the car as well, under the rear floor mats? And yeah lastly, the AUTO button for the air conditioner doesnt work, i have to press the button below it to turn on the aircon to turn on, anyway of getting this fix. and cost of this? The 'auto' button is for the climate control function, it is possible to switch the A/C function on and off independantly of the climate control. However, it is possible to run a diagnostic on this system in the car. Do a search for A/C daignostic mode. Have fun!
  8. If you are after servicing/maintainace these people are honest, good value and will not stuff you around. Jenlen Automotive 550 Kessels Rd MacGregor 4109 (07) 3849 8999 (only a couple of minutes from town on the South East Freeway)
  9. Shellite - will not damage anything (used it on everything from drafting boards to thirty thousand dollar digital copiers) and yet surprisingly good at removing ufo's (unidentified foreign shif). IMHO....
  10. Welcome to the 4 door club!!

    Insurence?

ah, another southerner that has seen the light - the sunny Queensland light! As for insurance, try 'young and cool', shannons, suncorp or 'AON' as key words if the general search brings up too many results.
  12. For most 'normal' people, a three inch does all that it is supposed to (less restriction). Anything bigger is for show or really, really high horse power applications (you do actually need some backpressure to run smoothly/properly for anything remotely like daily driving).

    Insurence?

Did you mean to post in the Queensland section? Do a search in just about any section, this has been talked about heaps and there is some really useful information already around.
  14. It seems to be a fairly common problem in the Skylines. Do a search because there are a number of solutions/theories that seem to work.
  15. G'day Nis33 Welcome!
  16. Two40 $80!! I will give two thumbs up for Royal Purple - but $80?! I swear I paid less than that last time..... It is excellent stuff though boosthrd.
  17. Retrimming the interior can be tricky, prolly best left to someone who knows what they are doing, but it also depends on what exactly needs to be done... The exterior would be very diffficult to stuff up yourself (with regard to cut/polish etc). Stick to the fine cut cleaner and then, unless you are a complete toolhead, you wont hurt it.
  18. They will look after everything or sort it out for you. Fair pricing - keeping in mind you get what you pay for and they will not 'do the dodgy', take any shortcuts or rip you off. A good wash, cut, glaze and wax will do wonders for the paint on a car, have you considered putting in some sweat before paying someone else to do it?
  19. BCM Body works, southside (magic mile). Excellent work and been around for years - hence the excellent reputation. Where in Brisvegas are you fellas?
  20. Seperate interior bits? Pm sent.
  21. The position of the intercooler in front of the wheel arch prolly means there is a fair bit of air being sucked through (by the lower air pressure in the wheel arch) when moving. Fan might not help this.
  22. If you are talking about fitting a two door kit to a four door car - front bar should, side skirts won't and rear bar prolly won't.
  23. The best bang for buck tyre I have used is the Pirelli P5000. No, not the greatest, but real value for money. They certainly are a LOT better than some of the tyres I have driven on and yet work for most budgets.
  24. What he said. It possibly is the joints along the boot 'drain' channel. It has a sealant and paint over it from the factory, but can develop hairline cracks over time (which can leak a startling amount of water). Take it to a good panel beater and they will strip it, reseal it and refinish it for that better than new look. Should only be a hundred bucks or so from memory.
