How did you go BU5TER? Did your poor little GTS-t make all the mighty GT-Rs quiver in their boots? Would have been impressive to see it run, especially the howl of that screamer pipe! And in front of media crew!

The HKS kits use a 60mm GT wastegate, although that is pretty massive. What's the problem - not holding boost? Boost spiking? Boost bleeding off?

Garrett Gt3540r - Modified ?
DoughBoy replied to discopotato03's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Check out the XR6 forums, iirc the highest from a "stock" XR6 GT35R w/ported wastegate orifice is around the 400rwkw mark. -
Especially when all our locally made "high performance" cars were based on family cars....

I'd say with their motor combination they'll probably hit the limit of the turbo, and it will be a good showcase for Hypertune's range of products. I suppose their goals might be a bit more realistic than, say hypothetically, stuffing a big dollar race quality motor into an 1800kg grocery getter? Don't Coles carparks have a 15km/h speed limit?

1996 V-spec R33 Gt-r Running Gear
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I've got another sale post for a GTR rear end modified to fit an R33 GTS-t. There are a few mods that you need to do, and depending on how you want to run it (and what parts you're willing to buy - like shocks). I wouldn't run an ALSD diff, too much mucking around. I'm not sure if the Vspec ALSD has the same connections as the GTS-t ALSD. But yes, essentially the GTR one fits. -
1996 V-spec R33 Gt-r Running Gear
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Complete fuel tank with pump - $200 Gearbox - $1,000 Rear cradle w/diff, axles, hubs etc - $750 AFAIK transfer case coolers only came on Aus delivered models, I do have regular GTR diffs that don't require the active LSD gear. Motor - $4500 As I posted earlier I'm not too keen on splitting up the lot, will have to wait a week or so to gauge interest. -
Selling the running gear out of a 1996 V-Spec R33 GT-R. Car had 53,000 k's on the odometer. Have everything from intercooler, radiator, all pipework, motor, exhaust to cat, wiring harness, CPU, gearbox, clutch, tailshaft, diff, rear cradle w/axles. Everything you would need to convert an N/A car, have an R32 wiring loom if needed. Setup is completely stock except for HKS pod filters. $7,000. Located in Sydney. Will seperate if there is enough interest in the various parts.

Circuit Slicks - 18" Radials, Wet + Dry
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
$2500 for the R34 rims. Pics attached. -
As someone posted earlier in the thread, there's acutally a publication on rebuilding RB26's that shows the build process at Tomei's factory. There's really nothing special that they do, no special parts or custom fabrication that would warrant placing them on a pedestal. You could argue that their experience with building Nissan RB motors gives them an edge, but any decent machine shop/engine builder is able to do the same job. But then again, the brand name is similar to your nickname here, and alot of people are impressed that the engine is built by Tomei.

Circuit Slicks - 18" Radials, Wet + Dry
DoughBoy replied to DoughBoy's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Price locally on the dry slicks are $500-580 per tyre, so pretty firm on the price. Individually I want $380 per new tyre, and $250 per used, but depending on interest. Last thing I want is to be stuck with some odd sized slicks. The 230 or 250 is the width in mm, the 650 is diameter in mm. So they are 9 inch or 9.8 inch wide tyres, and due to the square shoulder design on them it's pretty much the tread width. Although both sizes are able to be fitted to 9inch rims. -
