  1. Yep-o awake. Bed shopping today!
  2. Actually Jason, get it, get a tow ball, and get a proper gokart to get your track fix. At least that would be proper racing.
  3. Yeah, Bryn, what happend to the party at your place dude?
  4. Either way man, if you cant put the bpd in, if its almost the same all the pistons and that shouldnt be too hard to get a hold of, the only reason I see a problem is I know other people who have tried the fwd engine, to rwd engine thing, and found it a lot harder than they thought, they did get it done, just a signficantly more cost than planned, something to do with gearboxs and clutches from memory, along with a few other small hicups. Just a bit of reasearch should sort it out. But if you can get a good quality hard top, go for it hey man. It should be fairly reliable, obviously quick, good range of suspension mods for them. Common enough to not get hassled by the po po, yet still different enough to get a bit of interest. I personally would still stick with the piston motor, I think it would be far less hassles in the long run, and just turbo the stocker until it blows up which gives you more time to save (ie money saved can be earning you some interest or something, pay off a bit more of your loan if you got one or whatever). But yeah, go for it hey. Its just the 2 seat thing Make sure you can live with only 2 seats.
  5. I would just like to say 20/20 cricket rocks. NSW suck (even tho they did need 5 6s in the last over and got 3 of them) and QLD rock as we won! WOO! But almost 28000 people at the gabba tonite for a domestic 20/20 game, was awesome.
  6. Just remember dude. Hands at 9 & 3! 10 & 2 is old school, if your parents or driving instructor tell you otherwise they are just simply wrong, hands at 10 & 2 means if the airbag goes off, it hits your hands/arms and does a lot more damage. So 9 & 3 BTW, do a defencive driving course as soon as you can! It will help.
  7. Yeah good and bad drivers. Cant hurt putting something up, the guy might see it and feel really stupid and try and curve his actions, never know. But if you do get someone following that closely, be sure to leave adquate space between you and the car in front just incase the tool tailgating you does run up your bum. If you can even try and leave enough space so you can slow down slowly enough they have space to stop safely. You can adopt the additude 'f&%k 'em' let them hit me up the bum, let them learn a lesson, but really your car is off the road, and well you could get killed.
  8. But lets look at it this way. Doesnt the exact same thing happen with the intercooler and A/C thing? So then you have more hot air going through your radiator? Thus making your engine hotter? I can see where the theory comes from. It does make sense on paper, just in real life it wont work as good.
  9. Ahhh, no, its the thing that means I dont have to wear my wetsuit down the beach in SUMMER!!! Which is just insane. I'll put up with a less effective intercooler for a nice warm day down the beach.
  10. I saw one a nice one of these the other day, Id go one. Personally I rather the chasers, thats just a looks thing. And dude, its a luxo toyota, its a GOOD car.
  11. 20x20 cricket tomorrow, and Sunday is skimday! With what looks like no wind and SUN! Does anyone remember what the sun is!?
  12. All that said, still ring Jim, let him know what you are after to make sure you are getting the right product. But Id say Jims clutch would be more than fine.
  13. The few mates I have who have owned evos (actually gsrs, with full evo3 conversions gearbox and diffs included) and they seem pretty tough, maybe not as good as supra 6 speed... But they copped a fair bit of abuse, as in hard launches, bit of clutch kicking trying to drift in the wet etc. Really whats going to kill the box is being harsh on it, cluch dumps etc, which dont equate to a quick lap time anyway. But they are def stronger than the familia and WRX boxes. I cant imagion the stock MX5 box is going to be overly strong either? Nore for that matter the box that you will put with the rotor. Once again as you probably know the familia GTR motors had some forged internals, and a turbo thats approx x2 the size of the gtx one. So if it can be dropped in it probably wouldnt be a bad option. FWD to RWD I dont know how you will go. But back to which car to get. Really, if pratcially isnt an issue go the MX5. Just keep in mind stuff like rain, wet track days, etc etc. And roll bars will help, but it still aint a roof . So if you dont mind getting your seats wet, have no need for more than 2 seats or 2 doors, dont really need much of a boot etc. Then the mx5 is probably the way to go. If not Id be looking at the EVO thing a bit more.
  14. Because Rohan, they are more like $60k than $16k
  15. Looking at that list, and also without knowing probably as much as you about the bullet cars I'll have my say. I personally would go the Evo every day (even if its only an evo2-3 due to the $16k limit) They are a good strong motor, fairly strong box, fair sized boot, 4 doors, good rear headroom as well etc etc. I would think out of that list its probably the most pratical car given you seem to want to do track work stuff. The evos seem to do well. With the MX5 thing, I think its a great idea. In theory. #1 they dont have a proper roof. Im sorry but if Im making a spastic fast car, I want it to have a proper hard roof. My oppinion on that one, I know the MX5s were designed to not have a roof. The other thing, arent the bullet cars just loosely based on an MX5? I thought they were all space frame chassis or something, and didnt actually use the MX5 framework? That said Im sure an engineer would be able to sort it out so it would be legal. But yeah, its got 2 seats, it wont have the stock engine so there could be some issues with that (keeping in mind what the bullet cars were, it wasnt just a slap in the engine hope it works, it was pretty much a total rebranding of the car). The guys saying go for an NA sr20, no point at all with that. Its not as practical car. If you were going to do the MX5 option, Id turbo the factory motor, when it dies then look to rebuild it stronger. By which stage you have got used to the car, saved a bit more money etc etc. That way its not as much stuffing about, everything should work, no rewiring etc. Just my oppinion. The others I wouldnt waste my time with. (as the gtt would most probably be NA)
  16. Because he has 4 gauges infront of the standard one?
  17. Yep-o. So keep your greedy little eyes off it Troy! Tis' mine!
  18. The other thing you could do is do some go fast stuff, and just get your GTR rims painted another colour which would be far cheaper than new wheels, but would make the car a bit more individual. You would probably get away with painting the wheels (thru a professional who would blast them, clean up some small gutter rash etc) for about $400. Just a suggestion anyway.
  19. You are now called "Mr Red Book"
  20. Trap door apparently. I personally would have wanted him to go say maybe gladiator styles in with a lion or something. But hey.
  21. I think you will find thats just the owners handbook. Not a proper service manual.
  22. Dude, its a big tunnel, and you only got so many gears! Im really unsure if Brisbaneites are ready for a big tunnel... I know some of the big european ones they have minium and maxium speed limits for the reason of safety. Sure they are way bigger, but I mean we cant even use indicators.
  23. So whats everyone doing tonite?
  24. From memory a special edition of the NSX was doing 12.4s over the 1/4. Keeping in mind that japanese agreement thing was still in place then. They were probably a bit over it, but unlike turbos its not just a simple thing of removing a little restircter to get more boost. That and those s2000's do the best burnouts.
  25. So where is your hair salon?
