Need A Quiet Exhaust - Copped A Epa!
dangerous_daveo replied to FULOCK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mine used to be 86db at idle and 106db at 4000rpm or so, and is now 84db at 4000rpm. I got two big arse mufflers put on, still all a 3 inch system tho, and I didnt have too much of a loss of power. So maybe you could get away with a resinator and a big arse muffler. If thats any help. Cost me about $300 including the db tests. -
Do you work at dreamworld or something? I just remembered I saw an R34 down there with perly mags, looked to be in a staffish area.
-
LoL and if not, Dave will! HAHA! But yeah, drug dealers stuff up other peoples lifes too, both directly and indirectly. But thats another story for another day! Where are you working anyway Josh?
-
Out of luck Josh mate. Got home and the ramps are goooonnneee!!! Hahah!
-
Well dude, you can stay here. But its the same terms Im on... So thats 25% of your after tax income. Oh, and those nail clippers. Bonus is tho, we only eat rip eye fillet steak, and only have tasmainan salmon. Thats on the nites we dont have sussages and bakes beans... Oh and we dont have a garage, but we do have ramps up from the carport to under the patio for when we need space for an extra car. Lucky you posted today! We were going to pull them down tomorrow! In all seriousness tho, this is going to become one funny as thread.

Spotted Isaac, at his house...

Haha, thought it was on there somewhere. Thanks tho dude. Thats seriously exactly the same as my car.
-
Nice! I've just got one for the cef, pretty much the exact same mods (and I know I have a chiped ecu). Id be happy with half that! Thats tops news. One question tho, how much boost are you running???
-
Which is what I have. I'll grab some photos tomorrow. But the best bang for buck (as in spending less than $8-10k which would be a semi race shock...) is the Sydney Kid suspension group buy, which is listed in the group buy section in the for-sale forums. And what I mean by playing with the 'bias' of the sway bars is just making them harder or softer to suit. Say drift you might want the rear a bit harder so the rear kicks out easier.
-
Well hard springs stop roll, but they also stop everything else from working properly. The shock controls the spring, so thats the tricky (and expencive) bit... If you have hard springs you cant make a shock to control the spring properly. So if you want to stop roll, get big anti roll bars. I have a solid 30mm on the front of my cef, and I really think its over kill, I feel sometimes the front is just too solid. So I would just go the whiteline stuff. If what people keep going on about with drift, the best set up should be a proper track set up (as in to have as much grip as posible) just with stiffer antisway bars with a bias to the rear. That way the car is going to handle as best it can, and be the most balanced and predictable. But most of the drifters run really low, and stupid stiff springs.

Radical Changes In Fuel Pressure With Malpassi.
dangerous_daveo replied to DennisRB30's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
50psi!!! Mines on 30psi at 800rpm idle. I also have the standard dr drift rb20det chip and its a flat 12afr, and I do mean flat. So Im guessing try going back down a few psi first. Where the problem might be is in what model malpassi you have and where its located. #1 if its ratio is wrong its going to pump in way too much fuel. I had a black top one on mine a while ago and had the same problems you have. I then replaced it with a silver top and all was good. #2, if its near excessive heat this apparently CAN have an affect on its performance. That said mines bolted to a bracket on the side of my plenum and is spot on perfect in winter and after sitting in 1hour of summer traffic... -
Thats hit with a hell of a lot of speed hey. A real lot.
-
Sorry I have to say it. Hold your breath before hitting the sutter on your camera dude. I've got no idea what I'm looking at so I'll just take your word for its dodgy!
-
Yeah dude, thats a me!

Dyno Video - Hot Porsches
dangerous_daveo replied to rb32Quarter's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think the wing is pretty standard for the porkas in that class of racing hey... Just saying... The wing probably does something. -
Just dont do it man hey. The bilstein stuff isnt THAT much more, and it will work better, last longer and therefore cost you less in the long run. Trust me I've been there done that, spent almost $2k on coilover rebuilds, different springs etc etc. If you can do it once properly do it. BTW, you can get the bilsteins kind of like a coilover. You get the coilover things that go around the shock, then just get the springs to suit. But it would probably cost more than its worth.

10mm slip on. The smallest you can get in bolt on is 15mm or so I could find anyway. Mine are a tight fit... As in wire brush to clean it all up, then a slight tap with a rubber mallet to get them on (hubs were still a bit warm tho) They are hub centrivical (sp?). So they tightly fit the hub, then my wheels fit the spacers hub, if that makes sense. And I have longer studs. [edit] go to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...t&p=2432648 linky linky. Thats some pic of my old ones, and my new ones to give you an idea on what Im talking about.
-
I had some 10mm ones made up, perfect fit as they were made to suit. Cost $80 a pair or so.
-
LoL. I do hope you simply wiped out the rest of what I said simply to make your point. But yeah, the curfew thing... Thats just even more stupid. Back to the only 1 under 21yo passenger... What if your a teenage bride thats had twins?
-
Haha no worries man. As I said didnt mean any offence by it (kind of cant come out any other way tho!) just I've seen recently a few people get offered these positions, they know they cant do it but they say yes anyway, and 3 months later they have no job, not even the one they started out with. If you can do it man, and live out of qld (thats the hard bit) Id say go for it. That and the experience would be tops. Do it for 3 years or so, make a mint (that means selling the gtr otherwise you will just have a fast car and nothing else ) then come back, only realise even tho you have $300k saved up it still not enough for a house deposit!
