  1. Ok, I gotta say Im with the mods on this, after being a mod on a number of other sites they are always in between a rock and a hard place no matter what they do. Now some sections of the forum need to be a heavy hand. Ie tech sections, forsale section etc. Reason being is the whole search thing for one, bandwidth another. And making sure buyers dont waste sellers time. ETC. Now other sections dont need really any form of major moderation, just a bit of an eye on things (ie porn being posted etc). Such as whoretown, or the offtopic sections. Reason being, is thats what they are for, random rubbish. Then we have the other sections in between. Now the newbies need to think a little of all the members who have been on here 2, 3, 4, or even 5 years and have seen the same topics popping up 3 times a week for all that time. What you need to do is look and learn and read a bit first. If you stuff up think about it as an initiation when everyone jumps down your neck. So searching, the default search searches for 30 DAYS ONLY, so you need to change that option so it can search properly. So as mud has said, the same threads keep rocking up, powerfc tune, which mechanic, which paint shop etc etc. Thing here is we DID have the services thread sticked, so MY suggestion would be to bring it back. At least then its one less excuse people have to post which shop to go to. I think some of you are missing the point tho. What is being said is SAU queensland type thing related chat. Not just skylines. So we have whoretown, we have a spotted thread, we have a events section, we have our own forsale section. So the repeat stuff shouldnt be needed, along with some of the offtopic stuff.
  2. Seems on the cef you dont need to change a thing hey. Just pretty much bolts in with a bit of jiggling around.
  3. Well yeah... But I gotta say, thats heaps clean hey. Like mine is clean, but that looks a lot cleaner.
  4. So going by all these goings on, it would appear that their might be a bit of under the table work for a car dealer and someone at DOT...?
  5. So after reading all that, I should really put my hicas computer back in my cefiro...?
  6. My guess is they dont give a rats about us little small time 'hoons' hey. Prob after the bigger fish! But one of the dyno shops around the place does a bit of stuff with a few cops cars, one of them is a rather quick vl calais apparently.
  7. Research like Japanese whaling research!? I've got a front pair of R32 ones tho. So what sort of research and whats in it for me?
  8. I'd report it stolen anyway hey, go down there with the police report or whatever. That should fire them up a bit to get it back. Then work at ways to get the placed closed down or something until your car is recovered. Not good tho. Deadset next car I buy its going to be new. And Im going to be down the docks when it rocks up.
  9. You got a mechanic to put in a horn?
  10. Haha, well about that... My RB25 box conversion cost me about the $3k mark... But then I didnt do any of it other than a bit of running around.
  11. LoL like really, a BROWN R33? I find that quite funny!
  12. Can you change the engine yourself? If not Id be going with just the replacement RB20 is going to eat all your budget.
  13. Might be easier and cheaper to just get a 1 piece shaft made up assuming you have the rb25 gearbox yoke. Thats what I did, was fairly cheap, and also took out some of the weight that was added by the bigger box. Just a suggestion. That and its ASAP as its a bit of pipe with 2 unijoints on the end of it.
  14. Haha, I think most of the top end oils in fairly stock cars (ie a bit of boost etc) are pretty much the same anyway. I guess at least the penrite stuff is somewhat Australian.
  15. My mechanic would agree with that! He thinks using any penrite product is a sin!!! HAW HAW HAW!!!
  16. Well thats better than standard... so it would be an upgrade yes? Either way they are better in the long run as they do stop the glazing up, so they give you the same 'feel' and stopping power for longer. But in answer to the orginal question I would say just for the rear probably a waste of money. That said if they are cheaper than standard rotors get them, then spend the money you save on better brake fluid or pads or something.
  17. Because I know for a fact that Peter Bettie created this 100 year drought with his own bare hands... BTW, the qld govt will give you $1000 for your tank, and currently brisbane city council will give you $750 for a 5000L tank or $500 for 5000L and under. So your going to be forking out maybe $500-1000 and doing some good, so the govt to some degree are paying for them. And I dont see why you should be allowed to wash your car and justify not being part of the community, when the rest of us have worked out how to put up with it. But just a suggestion, in our family we save our shower water, such as while your waiting for the water to get to the right temp etc. Maybe you could do the same, by the end of the week you should have a fair few buckets of water to wash your car with. Recycled water and how 'bad' it is, is 99% media hype. It wont hurt your car anymore than the stuff you use to wash it. Sorry to be harsh, but thats the reality of it. Level 6 in Septemeber... Keep that in the back of your head too while your washing your car, that will be the worst water restrictions of any major city in the world ever. End of the day man, its going to come down to the do you want to continue to live. We all need water to live, sure as hell we all dont need your car.
  18. Or you use tank or recycled water... Recycled water is at any carwash, as they can no longer use potable water. But no offence man but dont be so selfish. Its at the point now businesses are going to start going under etc. If we dont save the water now level 6 wont be far off. And you think 5 is harsh... Reason for windows and mirrors is the obvious safety issues of not being able to see out of your car.
  19. 500L would be the average brisbane household too dude, so that includes waterwasters, households of 10ppl etc. But yeah 40-50L thats not a lot... Say a 5min shower with a 9L/min shower rose, theres 45L right there... A 7L/min shower rose is about as low as you can go while still being effective.
  20. Well if you live in the suburbs as most of us do, and your house wasnt designed to have tanks retro fitted then your gutters would fall in all different directions to their nearest down pipe. Now when you come to install a tank you are either going to have lots of little tanks all over your yard at each down pipe, pull down all of your guttering and re-install it with correct falls to your tanks location. Or just leave it be and position your tank in the area where it will collect the most amount of rain fall. Its just not cost effective.
  21. Well Wivenhoe got about 44mm at the actual damn, dont know exactly how much in the surrouding catchment areas, its a good start. In regards to tanks, I think the average brisbane resident uses about 400-500L per day, seems a lot of people are getting 3000L tanks... Do the maths on that one. Then you cant harvest all of the water on your roof if your retro fitting. Just the fall of the gutters etc. Im not saying tanks are a bad thing, I just think some people are getting them, going nuts with their water then wondering why their tank is empty.
  22. What he said. If its a street car you want a little give, and you dont want to be rebuilding everything all the time.
  23. I wouldnt go that far, as there arent that many options for damn placements... But thats another story. You say its not that bad, wait for level 5 next month Thats going to hurt a bit more than people may think.
  24. My mate has an 84 civic for sale, from the times I've seen it its ok, its got new tint . I think he wanted about 1k for it. Pretty sure with rego. Hes just bought a new gti polo so I think he wants it gone pretty quick. I'll let him know to send you an email and some pics etc.
