    Hmm

Got me stumped man, I tried doing the same thing as you, but I just get the usual "Japan weblog" and tourist type websites... That said, I don't think anyone refers to their car as "my Japan", must be some kind of re-occuring phrase in the search results?
  3. Sorry guys... theres still no word on when the Nismo GT-Rs availability, will let you know as soon as they are.
  4. Guys, guys... theres a whole "quality improvement" era happening in Japan now (has done for the last 4 - 5 years) and the european style cars being produced in Japan at the moment are what the Japanese think is "logical progression". European styling = quality. All Japanese car makers were somewhat caught up in over-spending and bad business decision making during the Bubble economy years, and what we're seeing now is the end result: cars that are build to world standards, that cost less (parts sharing across the entire range) and cheaper... unfortunately for us, that means that Japanese styling has immitated European styling to an extent, as a means of showing the *Japanese Public* (forget about overseas markets for a moment) that the cars being produced now are a step away from old, tired, bubble economy-type cars. No, the 350Z, Skyline, Accord Euro, Mark II etc are very much styled along European lines to separate the "new era" of Japanese cars from the old. This way the Japanese car makers want the public in Japan see "immitation" as a form of respect for a superior product, while also... and this is the most important part... protecting their local industry!!! Why buy that C-Class Mercedes when you can buy a Toyota Brevis that looks almost exactly the same?
  5. Yeah Luke, I got your PM... as per usual it was buried beneath the 300 other ones... Mate, if you've got a contact in Japan already, wouldn't it be cheaper/easier for them to source the plenum? The whole K's Garage thing is strictly part-time now, and even then only small things like Funky says.

Whys that Nick? Not enough time?
  7. Geez topi, have a good time for all of us! You lucky bugger... If I were you, I'd buy some very "localized gifts" from your particular area, not the bog standard English breakfast tea bags or Union jack socks... more like something the old guy could use... drink coasters with (insert your town here) pics on them or an ashtray if he smokes, tea towels for the lady of the house, picture frames... you know, things they can use. I'm sure the other guys have better ideas.

    greedy plenums

SmItleR, Paragon... you didn't answer his question. The Greddy (Goo-red-ee ) intake plenum is a fairly popular conversion in Japan. I wouldn't say that *everyone* considers it, for example, a 400ps ECR33 has the Greddy plenum, yet a 450ps HCR32 doesn't (stock intake)... go figure. I guess it boils down to what the person wants to do with the car. The ECR33 has a better chance of 550+hp with the RB25DET, therefore you're more likely to see the Greddy plenum on RB25DET equiped cars. Well, lets just say 50% of the medium-hard tuned RB25DETs have the Greddy plenum (or similar), and less than that for the RB20DET in Japan. Going out on a limb there, but you get the idea...

    Japan bogans?

The "Yanki" is the Japanese equivalent to the Bogan... and they don't do burnouts in the cities so much - although I'm sure they do - rather just rev the crap out of their engines with open exhausts, and turn the volume up on their 300 db stero installs in their VIP Celsiors, HiAce vans etc. Just being a general "noise" nuisance, rather than doing burnouts.
  10. No worries Dave, Septembers all good for me...

Hehehe, sounds good Dave. Although it's still a way off (hell we've still got the Pokka 1000, the Nismo Festival and TI Circuit track day yet) I'll take an extra day off...
  12. Righty o... no pictures for you!
  13. No it ain't ... it's a Z33
  14. Shuto Kousoku Trial meas "Metropolitan High-Speed Trial"... I think it's a series of movies from the late 80's early 90's where these young guys try to beat records set by an F1 driver on a section of city highway. I've never seen them, but I had a student fill me in on these videos when he found out I liked cars.
  15. Whats so good about it? ...the vent???
  16. That Orange R32 ain't my car. Sorry... but on the bright side, I've already got East Bear aero mirrors and a carbon bonnet and rims are coming soon. Japan rocks for parts.
  17. Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!! Priceless! :D[/size] I hope Troy doesn't see your post...
  18. Hahaha! "prepared".... by "prepared" read: rear wheelarch rust cut out.
  19. ... and the current Skyline (the sedan at least) ain't new either! The sedan was released in 2001, and the coupe last year in 2003.
  20. It comes with a VG20E, a VEG20ET, a VG30DE or a VG30DET... Strutto: free set of aero mirrors? If I wasn't homeless, maybe I could entertain that idea!!!
  21. I think as far as car prices go (depending on condition) take your standard price, and add at least $5,000 onto it to get to the Australian price... maybe more.
  22. Excellent descision, thats what I did, and I don't regret anything...
  23. Talk to Strutto... he must have some Japanese car almanac or something where it's got clear pages with the outline of every single Japanese car from the 70's onwards, and he just puts the clear page upto the monitor and sees if the photo matches the outline... instant winner!
