  1. If all goes well, my good friend Akihiro and his family will come down from Japan sometime this year, and as he can get wholesale on HKS stuff (and just happens to be a certified HKS F-Con tuner for SuperAutobacs 171 Nishikoya) so I'll make sure an F-Con is in his suitcase before he comes. He used to post up here in the Japan forum from time to time... あきひろ さん!もしこの会話をよんだら、ここになんかメセージして下さい。
  2. For the moment I'll be running the stock ECU, but an HKS F-Con V will be in sometime this year I hope...
  3. Yeah, it's called 'ES'. The guys who painted it here thought I was on drugs when I told them the paint code (because it's so new). They got the paint sample flip thingy and tried to tell me it was Magna super Red or something... which it wasn't. No, the offsets between R32 and S13 are different, but not by much. Actually, the S13 now has 15mm 4-5 stud changers on the front, and 10mm 4-5 stud changers on the back. So thats 10 - 15mm on top of the +30 - 35mm offset of the wheels. There are no guard issues whatsoever, but I've had one or 2 guys already say that I should - get this - SINK THE WHEELS BACK INTO THE GUARDS. Nope. Anyway, 19x9.5 STARCORP IMPULS are going on this week (supplied by MAR55S - cheers mate  ) ready for some guard pumping and aero front fenders.
  4. Lets forget about the Skyline for a minute... Remember my old girl in my sig? For those who don't know it *was* a 1988 Nissan Silvia Q's 5MT with a wheezy 1.8 CA18DE. It was quite humiliating watching Civics blast by at speeds which were... well let's be honest... out of reach of the CA18. Now, it's got the RB20DET from my old R32. I can't explain the WEIRDNESS of driving a R32 GTS-t in Japan for well over a year, then buying another car, shipping the both to Australia, then taking the very familiar RB20DET then putting it into my new car... which I also drove in Japan for a few months. It's like the heart and soul of the R32 lives on in the Silvia. Anyway, enough blabbing: Halfway point in the buildup... Thats Mitsubishi 380 'Molten' red with gold flake in the engine bay, which the whole car will be sprayed in the beginning of February. I didn't try and catch the gold in the pics, it's just too hard. Theres still a Blitz BOV, strut tower bar, boost controller, GReddy intake manifold, low mount stailess exhaust manifold etc, etc, etc to go in yet. Probably the main reason why RB20's in S13's aren't such a good idea... cooling. But the power to weight ratio with 175kw and around 1100kg is too good to resist The free RB20DET helped in the decision too Regamaster 17x8 and 17x9's were stolen from the R32 too - with the help of some 4 to 5 stud changers. 4 studs are quite frustrating if you want decent wheels and don't live in Japan... Some of you might notice the 'Made in China' intercooler and exhaust. This wasn't my choice, but the price we got these new components for was incredibly cheap - almost obscene... and when your brother is picking up the bill... well... you can't complain! Thank you China Some other bits that will go on in due time.
  5. ^^^ Hahaha ok thanks Sl!m... let that be the end of the matter. Please don't shower this thread with 'pwned' pics now people. Cheers
  6. Aaaaah... not... really. Your a top bloke Richard but the wheels are one thing we did 'skimp on'. They're the fake ones We went for the world (well Sydney's West) renowned Starcorp Impuls because my younger brother runs "Tech 9 Tyres" here in Perth and exclusively stocks all Tempe Tyres stuff. We half wanted to support his business and half wanted to save money... We did bid on spastic offset Fabulous wheels on the auctions at first, but when bidding exceeded the *very* good price we could get the Starcorps for, we opted for the brand new - but fake - Impuls. Having said that, the Starcorps look almost legit in 19" with the proper curved outer lip. The 18" versions didn't pass scrutiny by a long shot (trying very hard not to piss anyone off!) with the squared off lip like silver gts-t mentioned. But the dish is decent, especially as we wanted to go for a 'GT-R offset' front and rear with the same width front and rear. Some people might object to that, but all I can say is wait till they're finished Incidently, my S13 is ready to be picked up today with the RB20DET from the wine-red R32 all in place. It'll also get the 19" Starcorps with 9.5" front and rear... I'll put some pics up tomorrow.
  7. That looks fookin sweet. If I had a silver 32 I would've done the same...
  8. Shan, I thought your 32 was getting the BN widebody kit? What happened to that? The Aeromaster wide fenders fitted very well indeed. For the (Japanese) money, they were top notch. A customer at the SuperAutobacs I used to hang around at had the R32 Aeromaster 'Type 1' kit, and the fit around the rear lights left fairly large gaps too... he said they didn't mount it properly even though the gap along the boot lid area between the lights was perfect? [scratch head]
  9. Aaaah... now this man pays attention your HCR looks tuff with that GT-R bumper/wheel combo too... I know your cars been like that for years now but I've always fancied the genuine 32 GT-R bumper on HCRs.
  10. But I want people to kiss my ass!!!
  11. Monk: Drop $10,000+ on your project and lets see how bubbly and enthusiastic you are when unknown internet users feel the need to drop their 2c on how they don't like certain things about it. It happens, I shouldn't concern myself about anonymous comments and I'm very well aware of that (thanks for the heads up anyway cobber ), but after the first 3 replies I could see where it was going so I got tired of it. 'Pre-menstrual' my ass  I'm not interested in this anymore so PM me if anyone wants to see anymore pics/updates. Oh btw... this thread was to show the transformation of a fairly shitty R32 Type M to a semi-full rebuild that spanned 2 countries and $10,000+ in mods and to show 1 or 2 people that I did indeed have a car in Japan and wasn't making it all up... not to have my ass kissed.
  12. I was gonna say that just because someone posts pics up of a car it doesn't mean it's open season for ricer remarks... I might add that this is my younger brothers car and he likes what he's doing so thats all there is to it. Was I expecting people to kiss my ass was I Monk??? I think your concept of this thread is a bit off...
  13. What. Everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Why are a whole bunch of people picking on the R32 all of a sudden? Shan, you're at the forefront with the rice comments... just give it a rest eh? If you don't like it just keep it to yourselves.
  14. Hahaha! You posted up a comment here that should've be directed to [email protected]

    Learning Japanese

I just wanna add that 'making mistakes' is the only way you can get to semi-fluent level quickly... just open your mouth and spit it out, if it comes out wrong (and you have a native speaker around) they'll correct you every time... but pay attention to the correct way and not the mistake!! My 2c...
  16. So does that mean you're gonna get with the "REZZOLUTION" and install some clear LED taillights too Nick??? Hahaha... I won't hold it against you if you don't... Christian: Will do mate, just give me a few days. By the way, got any pics of your R32?
  17. Not another one... ...Satans ass... LOL Have you ppl seen them on a car in the metal? They look like daimonds on my back... D-daimonds on my back... woooh!!! I think you guys really do like them, but are bowing to intehnet-pop culture and saying that they look like ass... but if you reeeally don't like them... heres a t-shirt: Cheers Christian
  18. Got 'em, just haven't put em on. As for the tail lights... they're different, and as far as I could tell no one (here) had them... so they got the nod. Besides, I think you guys are teh ghey for *not* liking Altezza's...   ... mmmmm altezza's...
  19. JUst a very minor update... new tail lights: And it's not a Skyline... hell it isn't even a Nissan, but my other brother from the same mother just bought a CC Lancer GSR from Sydney and drove it all the way to Perth, thats 4000k's... it's another project car, so we'll have 3 cars getting pretty extensive mods. The Lancer has 11 second quarters as a goal:
  20. These rants are all pretty good, but what about the Mitsubishi/Honda/Toyota Carolla 'lil f**kahz that do pretty dangerous maneuvers just to get your attention? Example: I was coming up to the roundabout at the High Road - Nicholson Rd T-junction (SoR), dropped it down to 3rd and toched the brakes slightly to enter the - now empty - roundabout. OUT OF NOWHERE (probably just left the BP station) this stupid looking Mitsubishi Mirage almost locks it up behind me entering the roundabout on the inside lane (2 lane roundabout) then darting out to the outside lane to overtake me at least doing 65km/h... WTF??? The Mirage understeered heavily on exit forcing him to brake hard, with me coasting by sticking in my lane of course. I just wish that guy busted his chromies on the curbing... that would've been a good ass-skooling for him I'd say. To make things even more gayer, we have to stop at the traffic lights at the Roe Highway overpass, and the... "gentleman"... wound his window down to blast me with his Gay Dancefloor Anthems 2005 CD... since when was this behaviour considered cool??? Anyway, I previously thought this kind of stuff was limited to VN Commodere drivers but I've been gravely mistaken.
  21. I got a blue one of those from Raybrig for the interior... also got these bwadbwoys for taillights/indicators/pacecar flashers:
  22. Welcome to the forums Drew I think you're the only member in Nagoya at the moment. Care to post up some pics of the Nagoya area? I ask because even though I spent over 5 years in Osaka/Kobe, I never once went to Nagoya... only viewed the city from the Shinkansen station.
  23. Merry (late!) Christmas and Happy New Year to all the Japan forum regulars It's great to see this forum still going strong with alot of new members now in Japan too. Meri-Kuri to, Akeome! (Merry Christmas - Meri-Kuri is a shortened version, Akeome is short for Akemashite Omedetou - Happy New Year phrase)
  24. Yeah, I totally agree with you. I've never been close enought to intervene with chikansu, but I had a problem with the voyuer type. My own experience with these guys was when my missus and I were waiting at Itami station in Osaka. This kinda nerdy looking guy was taking photos with his phone in our direction. I didn't bother with it at first, but after the 3rd time his little green light went off (with him holding the phone up photo-taking style) I went over to him and asked bluntly in Japanese "what are you doing? Did you take a picture of my wife?" to which he said "I don't understand... I didn't do anything!" I asked again and agian... then I snatched the phone off of him while he was frantically pressing buttons. Sure enough, he had deleted the first 2 pics, but one was left... the guys was trying to grab the phone back but I managed to see that he had taken a zoomed-in photo of my wifes legs from the waist down... By this stage unbelievably my wife was saying "Sorry!!!" to the guy!!! She took the phone off me and gave it back to the guy!! By this time the train had arrived and the guy sprinted onto the train and went to the front carriage. I could've murdered the guy, but at the same time I forcibly took his possesion. What can you do? I hope I scared him into no doing it again but I don't think so. I must admit the guy had balls to take photos in full view like that... must've been a serial phot voyuer. If anything, I think it's the Japanses way of non-confrontation that perpetuates this, so nothing short of the public at large intevening every time will stop it from happening.
  25. Lol top rant!
