  1. Yeah, I totally agree with you. I've never been close enought to intervene with chikansu, but I had a problem with the voyuer type. My own experience with these guys was when my missus and I were waiting at Itami station in Osaka. This kinda nerdy looking guy was taking photos with his phone in our direction. I didn't bother with it at first, but after the 3rd time his little green light went off (with him holding the phone up photo-taking style) I went over to him and asked bluntly in Japanese "what are you doing? Did you take a picture of my wife?" to which he said "I don't understand... I didn't do anything!" I asked again and agian... then I snatched the phone off of him while he was frantically pressing buttons. Sure enough, he had deleted the first 2 pics, but one was left... the guys was trying to grab the phone back but I managed to see that he had taken a zoomed-in photo of my wifes legs from the waist down... By this stage unbelievably my wife was saying "Sorry!!!" to the guy!!! She took the phone off me and gave it back to the guy!! By this time the train had arrived and the guy sprinted onto the train and went to the front carriage. I could've murdered the guy, but at the same time I forcibly took his possesion. What can you do? I hope I scared him into no doing it again but I don't think so. I must admit the guy had balls to take photos in full view like that... must've been a serial phot voyuer. If anything, I think it's the Japanses way of non-confrontation that perpetuates this, so nothing short of the public at large intevening every time will stop it from happening.
  2. Lol top rant!
  3. This is the engine finally coming out of the S13: Heres 'Banga' (local Perth Cefiro drifter boy) surveying the up until now GHEY engine bay. The old CA18DE was in *very* good condition wear-wise, but was suffering problems with ignition modules and A/F meters... CA's usually have this problem as now they're geting into the 'ancient' category. Undoing the driveshaft. Watching Banga ever so carefully remove the engine and gearbox with a forklift was awesome. At first I thought they were gonna remove it from underneath the car, but after seeing it done this way, it seemed easier. The whole thing was out in under an hour... top job guys! The engine and gearbox sold that very night for A$500. Heres something that you don't see every day! While the guys were pulling the engine from the Silvia, we walked around AGI Automotive and found this: A Nissan Patrol Race 'Car'. It contests dirt trials, and if you look veery closely, you can juuuust make out something extreeeeemly out o0f place: GOOD son of rajab IT'S AN RB26DETT!!! With 350hp at the wheels no less. More on this ride later. One more pic from our workshop (the Aussies here might see the irony), we had a Ford Falcon GT ute and a HSV Maloo R8 ute in our shop at the same time... I actually got to drive the R8 (with the 6.0 Gen IV) and holy shit... the girls got some balls. I'm no convert, but the VZ 6.0 Gen IV HSV's are the pick of the Holden bunch without question.
  4. Some more pics of the R32: The rear track will be widened by 10mm or more to be even with the front, we don't wanna do that until she's ready to be painted (with the rear guards rolled and slightly flared). Regardless what anyone says , the front wheels are perfectly offset outwards The enlarged front 'mouth' gives the whole R32 'face' a real 'Whaleshark-like' eerm... 'expression'... must hard being an art critic Fibervision here in Perth have made a custom surround to go around the intercooler mouth to cover up the gaps and what have you. It's still at Fibervision getting cleaned up. The rear bumper will be modified to feature a proper diffuser a la SuperGT. Of course all this work will be color coded in deep Mitsubishi 380 'Molten' redish-gold, with super gloss black wheels, mirrors, diffuser, front splitters etc.
  5. Rays have a good selection of center caps on their website, but as far as I know, they don't ship internationally. If you know someone who resides in Japan, you could have them get them for you. They cost around $45 - 50 for a set without shipping. Mind you, the white center caps you're probably after are just plain white center caps with no markings. It's possible that a wheel manufacturer here in AU could have a set? It just seems like alot of trouble getting 'genuine' Rays center caps that are really just generic caps found on alot of locally produced wheels.
  6. But I'm not trying to look for a race... thats the really annoying thing. Public roads aren't there for that kind of thing. I would have no hesitation going down to Kwinana to settle a bet or something though (when my cars finished... just waiting on 'Banga' to do his world famous 1 hour engine swap )
  7. Insurance for my R32 GTS-t through Sony Sonpo was 7,000 yen/month... Demon Dave I'd say you got a pretty good deal for insurance!
  8. Thanks Dino! Coming from you mate thats a huge compliment especially as the car looks like a prop from Mad Max 3... To be honest, I NEVER even thought the R32 would get this far... and the S13 Silvia will be an even bigger tranformation. But I'm not gonna post up anything about that yet...
  9. Just a smallish update, here's a pic of the Skyline today with Vertex rear bumper and sideskirts, modified front bumper for big intercooler 'mouth', Hotbitz coilovers (not adjusted for correct height yet), and 19x9.5 +20 offset Starcorp Impul deep dish wheels with 235/35-19 tires for that stretched look. The fron wheels have 15mm spacers on and even then the wheel spokes just *barely* miss the calipers by a millimeter or two. 10mm spacers will go on the back for... eeerm... "effect". As it is, we've had one bloke come in - with the car outside TKO Tinting (926 Albany Highway East Victoria Park - PLUG!!! ) for all of 3 hours - saying that he's gonna buy the exact same wheels... the cars not even finished yet  It's not everyday that you see 9.5" wheels with 15mm spacers on the front of a GTS-t Type M, but I guess 5 years of Japanese tuning styles being rammed down my throat it kinda influences you. In the next few weeks the Type M will get heaps of negative camber, a generous 40mm to 50mm slamming, a full respray and PLENTY of underbonnet mods. Will post up more as it happens. My old ride:
  10. If you have a lazy $4K lying around, you could go the 40foot container  ... but I guess you don't have THAT much stuff. If you can box up what you've got and take precise measurements of the boxes and it comes under a 2 cubic meter area, you could do sea freight for about $1000, or less for 1 cubic meter. Depends on who you go with for sea freight. But what we really need to know is how much stuff you want to take back?
  11. I still don't get why Mitsubishi Lancer GLi owners feel the need to race? I mean seriously... put that FWD and chromie +500 offset away  I *actually* haven't had any trouble with Commodore drivers... (touch wood) maybe because we tint alot of Commodores at TKO and I got the TKO graphic on my back window... I dunno... ?
  12. Ok, I've been on this site for quite a long time and I've read alot of threads about other drivers - usually Commodore drivers - where they harrass, intimidate and basically act like retards whenever they see a Japanese car with even half an ounce of balls. I feel for these J-car drivers because I've been on the recieving end of that kind of shennaigans myself (having never ever owned a Holden/Ford you'd get that). ANYWAY, thats not what this threads about. It's about retarded import or Japanese car drivers. I imported my S13 Silvia and my old R32 Skyline (now TKO Trents) and since I've had the S13 registered, practically every single time I get into that car I've had Pulsar... after 300ZX... after WRX... after Civic etc all try and race/drift/tailgate/200km/h flyby and generally act like retards behind the wheel.... no Skylines yet of course luvly lot you SAU ppl are. My questions are: Why try and race? I WILL LOSE due to forfeiting the race without the enemy driver even trying. What is there to gain by acting like a tool in a bad tastefully modified VEILSIDE (???) Pulsar? Does my Silvia have a red target sign on it causing the chrome wheel posse to speed up and try and almost crash into the back of it? I'm pretty disappointed in alot of driver attitudes in Perth after such a long time abroad. I know alot of the guys in question are teenagers just off their P plates... but still, it's freeking annoying. And thus concludes my rant Mods if this same topic has been posted sometime in the last decade and hence violating Code 11563 subsection B9-788 of the Repeat Threads Act, please feel free to lock the thread and swallow the key.
  13. Holy shit... rerading this thread makes me cringe... I was on 40mbps at home and 100mbps at work back in Japan Why in the heck does Australia suck at internet so much???
  14. I'll put in my token post here and say that I also have the Nismo R32 GT-R and the Nismo S15 Coppermix AND the Option Stream Z AAAAND the Nizmo Z33 Fairlady Z... ... since last Christmas... lol

    Come Clean

Another returning ex-pat... I feel not so 'alone' now haha. Hey Bart, I never got to meet but thanks for sharing the pics with us. It's just too bad I couldn't hook up with ya because I used to live next door to you in Ashiya...
  16. If I see another 'WIDE BODY' car with stupid FWD offset wheels that are 6 inches sunken into the wheelarches I'll puke over the keyboard...
  17. Hey I do know about the forum rules (if that had anything to do with it), but I interpreted that rule posted above pertaining to a slanderous post, not physically typing out the name of a business... ie: "I had a bad experience at XYZ workshop, and it went a little sumthin like dis"... if slander came into it then yeah no worries delete the lot, ban the se... eerrm offender and thats that.
  18. I've been told that yard will drop up to 10K even before you open your mouth to start serious negotiations... but 75K is more realistic IMO.
  19. I thought it was quite legal to post up shop names just so long as everything posted regarding said workshop/business whatever was all true and correct? Like no false claims and everything is sweet? You get banned for that? Sorry if theres been a big prob with posting up business names in order to 'protect the innocent/guilty' that I don't know about...
  20. Starcorp Impuls are +20 on the deep-dish 18x9.5 and 19x9.5 versions.
  21. If you go by the name in America, then you'd be referring to a lefthand drive example... not the case 'ere then, innit? I know you don't probably approve of it, but it's probably best to call it a... oh my gawd... a 'Skyline'...
  22. Who's banned????
  23. Theres some BIG THINGS planned for the wine red R32... it'll be ready by February and I'll post up some pics from December through till then. RB25DET conversion HKS 3037 turbine stainless high mount ex manifold Hotbitz Coilovers GReddy intake manifold (or surge tank in Japanese ) 19x8.5 and 9.5 dished alloy wheels Vertex side skirts and rear bumper modified Stainless cat-back exhaust (yet to decide maker) Candy apple red paint Big ass vented bonnet etc... The S13 will get the donor RB20DET... woohoo!!! The wine red R32's spirit will live on in the S13. The S13 will get: CLASSIFIED INFORMATION haha... I'll just post up before and after pics of the S13... wait and see
  24. Just following on from my sarcastic post (wink - wink mate) I was gonna say that Japanese do the 'V' sign because they're trying to be a 'Kani' (crab)... but never mind
  25. Thats easy mate, they do it because it's the victory sign used by 'Cammy' from Street Fighter II was just so cool they had to do it... but I think it's more like their comic book heroes or whatever do it after disposing of an enemy, and as kids they copied it whenever the camera came out and it just stuck forever after. On the other hand I had one student of mine say that they do it for something to do, as opposed to just sitting there like a dumbass...
