  1. i have not once talked badly of simon combo in this thread or any BUT i have only dis-agreed with his calm about responce in relation to twin HKS2530. Is it not ok for me to dispute a calm if i feel it is incorrect and at all times i have tried to make my point, without get personal or disrespectfull for to simon if someone feels i havent i appoligise honestly. As for my standings about single verse twin well i'm entittled to arent i.
  2. very good, you'll have to come for drive down to buno (like if you need an excuse for a drive that is hehehe) should have the new shed up and ready for business(fingers crossed) and the R run in, I dont know if you know but Collie sprint circuit is up and running again with a new surface (surpose to be quiet nice). pete
  3. when you back gav
  4. simon simon simon your getting to worked up over this i have never bagged on your combo not once and i have never said i'm faster than your, that like would school kids talk about. If i had built mine to run the 1/4 i would have built i very different and you know that period. And like i said we are not play in the same park 800hp/640hp turbo combo and reason is i built my for the circuit the only reason i ever run the track was for a bit of fun and we haven't had Collie sprint running for how long now? My only problem with you is you will bag on others and other combos with out proof (and done say you dont cos you had a good swip at me after last years Drag wars). So have fun with your car that Ant built for you and tell everyone all about and leave the other combos alone. The twin HKS2530 have run alot faster time than yours so does that make them better NO just a different combo. As for a car being fast you measure fast car by straight line mine by circuit/ track quick as that what i believe the true nature of the gtr was built for. pete ps simon peace out dude
  5. hks do two types of rods 21mm pins and 22mm pins
  6. gtr you need adjustable cam wheels big must trust me we made over a 100rwhp tuning cams pete ps plus you can change the characteristics of the power curve
  7. no 560rwhp from 800rwhp =70% and the turbos are advertised at 800hp by modyourcae.com and if we going to use the low advertised hp the gt2560r are advertised n the us at 280hp simon i know your got a good combo BUT dont say stuff with no really proof of your example has no relavance to responce. The silly part of this is it most likely more a differing opinions on terms and there meanings. I see responce very similar to SK. ie one the most responsive gtr i have been in has 400r turbos but makes only 370rwhp a roll on test wouuld not prove its responce. Driving through tight corners at lowish revs and the way it response would. pete ps you single fans better hope two.6l doesnt run a 9 soon as i believe there have made some improvements as the best monster single gtr till recently had only run 9.7 and to think a pair of 2530 with AFMs (someone made hp with afms shook horror)can go with in a poofteenth hehehe just something for you guys to think about
  8. you need the abs sensor to run the awd system
  9. so simon if this is a test of responce ant was telling me that a roll on like your talking about that yours doesnt pull out at all on his twin t04zhks gtr surely if this was a test of responce ants would not have the responce of yours . And i'm not having go simon i just dont think your being fair in your comparison of responce As for lining them i don't have a problem with that but i'm affaired i perfer a test of the whole car say lap times of collie or waneroo as we a test responce through the gears not just hp in straight line as i am running 640hp of turbos and your running 800hp of course yours will make more hp. and as for effiences of single verses twin 530rwhp from 640hp turbos 20psi =82.8 % 608rwhp from 800hp turbos 24psi =76 % again simon i think ant has done a awesome job with your car and it a good package just be fair when judging other combos pete ps two.6l hks 2530 10.38sec yours even with race fuel i think would battle to run that NO. God knows i'll never run that quick more interested in circuit and always have been.
  10. yeah we are trying to drop core pressure on the seals
  11. yeah sorry but remove the race fuel and put in ported head and high lift cams would be similar BUT what i was getting at let compare similar beast not std this worked that etc by the way that two-6l is one hell of a package for low mounts and pfc, shows i believe the potiential of a good well balanced package faster et than a lot higher hp gtr with out half the cost.
  12. also if your think of upgrading the turbo alway keep in mind the garret GT2560R 707160-5 ~$2600 and i hope on pulling my gtr back on the road to make around 420rwkw with these turbos on pump fuel at respectable boost levels 20 to 22 psi
  13. ok i was just trying to be conservative with the estimate didnt want to over estimate
  14. if anyone interested i got to water pumps for sale r33 gtr $70 r34 gtr(28,000km old) $100
  15. air flow becomes a problem
  16. a car with a better combo to compare to would be two.6l i think running 440rwkw 10.38 1/4mile running smaller poncams hks 2530 this car would give a much better idication of the 2530 potiental over the near std 440hp gtr
  17. no thats not true about the 2530 they only compared to near std rb26 with 2530 on it (from memory 440rwhp or there abouts) ,which is not fair to compare again a built 26 with high lift cams ported head running more boost and the test was rolling in fourth side by side , which in my opinion not a true test of responce. Sorry simon i know your t04z is doing some get hp but lets compare apples with apples when comparing turbo set ups as i believe you put those turbos on your motor and it would behave very different to those on the std rb26 YES. I do know you have a higher potential for hp but you shgould with 800hp turbo verses the 640hp of the hks 2530 but as responce i dont believe that is a fair claim. I am not trying to have a go at anyone or any turbo configuration pete ps my opinion of responce is the recovery time between gears changes especially in the lower gears and the responce in low rpm situations ie corner exiting
  18. keir wilson told me the limiting factor is the std block which is good to about 750 to 800bhp ,and before everyone starts i believe he was referring to reliable racing at that level not just a once off dyno run etc so the block may hold more hp but will most likely start to become unreliable and i think KW would know more than most. pete
  19. ok i think you can still achieve your 350 with the gt-ss BUT you will need all you ducks in a row first you need some nice cams Tomei poncams 260 9.15mm very nice cam and very easy to install as they are a bolt in second you said you had adjustable cam wheels YES you will need to spend on the dyno tuning the cams critical for getting the most out of a combo third you will need the a big free flowing exhaust minium 3.5" i would think as the small low mount turbos are extremely sensive to any back pressure when it comes to getting the top end hp. 3"single piece dumps are well worth the money, i made my own. fourth descreen your airflow meters and install a custom 3" piping from afm to turbo as everyone stresses 3' dumps BUT the same amount of air must get into the turbo as getts out and you dont want any restriction on the inlet of the turbo some good filter would not go a stray (i like the apexi units that bolt straight onto the z32 afms) fifth your going to need some boost 20 to 24 psi i would guess reason i know this is i have made 397rwkw with the slightly larger GT2560R which should be around 360awkw at a guess at 20 psi on a std motor with those poncams other thing that would help but i dont think essential porting of the head exhaust port is the one that you can get the most benefit from. Good manifolds HKS dont both with the SS chinas not worth it. An upsized intercooler wouldn't hurt but i gain my power on a std unit but have upgrdaed now. pete best of luck and i would try all this first because if you need to upgrade turbos everything already done but you may not need to. my 2 c
  20. one in each turbo you replace the std 1.2mm with a 0.8mm as well the restrictor serves as the location pin for the bearing cluster . if there to hard to replace know you are most likely best to leave as is, as mine run for two year before i had an issue BUT you must be very carefull not to get on the gas while the motor is still cold as the pressure will bypass the seals and premature age the seals, i only had mine fail after leaving my car in the care of my brother while i was off shore not only did it have panel damage wheni got back but the seal begain to fail I believe from my brother thrashing when cold ,plus just to top it off the rings in 5 and 6 started to pass and that is why i had to bring my rebuild forward 6 months, needless to say i nearly strangled him when i got back, f**king idolt.
  21. Service Manager Small Turbo's : Geoff Haley is the guy to talk to and i would replace the 1.2mm with 0.8mm as it was recommend by garret australia after i had the problems i did and geoff flow test the results on the test bench.
  22. the garret turbo gt2560 comes with 1.2mm resistor in the 707160-5 i would think the -7 would be the same can i ask why you picked the -7 over the -5
  23. r32tt the best thing for you to do is go to turbotec and order to 0.8mm oil resistors for the gt2560r and they will fit them for you the resistors are $40 each and worth every dollar. Tell them pete for bunbury sent you shouldn't be a problem. the reason for the resistor change is the garret ball bearing turbo is only good for 60psi oil pressure and like sk said the ball bearing turbo doesn't require the quality of oil the std turbo do. the result of this is the turbo when motor is cool (high oil pressure) and is starting to get into boost and a few revs can pass a bit of oil and resulting white smoke so i use to have to be very carefull to full warm the motor up, since i have had the resistors fitted after talking to garret australia and turbotec the problem has been solved and i have three cars running the resistors now. pete ps hope it helps
