  1. Took a video of the idle today with my phone, for some reason the mic amplifies the ticking from the injectors alot, its not that ticky in person.
  2. Its the oil filter relocation. The white part is the oil filter. Me too! its actually quite responsive already, without a tune its making around 1bar on 4000rpm ! Thats as far as i want to rev the engine even though the knock hasnt gone over 20 so far.
  3. Poncams are in! Also replaced the timing belt, tensioner and idler pulleys and cam seals while I was there just for a bit of assurance.
  4. Pulled the engine covers off this morning, gave them a sand back with wet an dry and got them sprayed this arvo Very happy with the depth of the colour too, im wondering how this colour would look on the rest of the car!
  5. Can get pics if required but they are in mint condition $100 for the pair + delivery 0401564822
  6. Hey all, Got my intake piping and pods for sale as i am now running a GT35 Chasing 200 bucks for both pipes, pods and brackets. Piping is polished stainless steel Pods are made by 3A racing. http://i.imgur.com/PfJZi.jpg 0401564822
  7. Ive actually sold the 3" 5zigen system that i bought new, i now have a 3.5" system on there now but the power difference between the two was very minimal! Turbo setup is finally finished! The grin on my face after i took it for a spin around the block was priceless..... i am well happy with how it drives and not to mention how it sounds.. And ill just leave this here: Next up is poncam install and its ready for a tune !
  8. Well, got quite abit of crap done today.. I did the final install of the manifold and wastegate, i also had to cable tie the aircon line toward the strut tower as it was too close to the manifold and also wrap it with some orange sleeving heres some pics of how it sits at the moment, fitment of the turbo and all the lines are done: it took me a couple of hours to adjust all the lines and hoses so that nothing at all is touching the manifold, the closest thing to it is around 5mm away and is wrapped in sleeving Not long to go till i can take it for a quick spin.. still have to properly relocate the power steering reservoir, block off the bovs and bolt on the intercooler piping.
  9. Haha no, they are two very different people.
  10. Yeah I was suprised i didnt have to mod the reservoir but it seems i am going to have to relocate it anyway since i have changed my mind on how the compressor housing is going to be orientated. Heres a pic of how its going to sit now and also the intake pipe: Ive orientated the comp cover this way for a few reasons; First being that its away from the manifold and having it further away increases the life of the silicone hoses connecting to it, Secondly, its also easier and more straight forward to make a pipe from there down to below the air filter. And last reason is.. i actually like the look of it like that haha, looks very mid-90s jap which is the look i quite dig. Dump pipe is 95% finnished and i think Clinton has done a superb job on it, i am very happy with his work thus far Tomorrow the screamer pipe and intake pipe will be made and the 90 degree aluminium elbow will be welded onto the comp cover! I am hoping i can take it for a spin on thursday Oh and after i took my front bumper off, i found a nasty crack in my cross over pipe, behind my intercooler, which flows the air back to the intake side from the blow off valves so im thinking ive been losing power from there ever since ive owned the car, its still managed to pull good numbers though? Not running the bovs anymore so no bovs no problem
  11. Thanks man, i eliminated the AFMs a while ago actually, im running an aftermarket ecu, Power FC DJ, which runs two MAP sensors on the intake side. Basically similar to how the falcons are but they only have 1 i think? I need a dump pipe and an inter-cooler pipe fabricated, i also need to get the external gate flange welded onto the manifold and then a screamer pipe made up .
  12. OK so today i got into it, both turbos have been removed, first one took a few hours but i had the last one off within an hour since there was so much room to play with - may god help the mechanics who have to change these turbos over with the engine in the car..... LOL im sure its much harder to re-fit them as opposed to removing them. Here are some pictures of the mani and turbo test fitted! I am very happy with the design of the manifold.. the comp housing clears the rocker cover by 10mm and the power steering bracket by like 3-4mm !! Clinton gets started on the welding and fabrication side of things tomorrow
  13. I received the gauges 2 days ago mate thanks alot for them, they are in excellent condition
  14. Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah what can you do.. I really dont care about yellows anymore, I just focus on enjoying the car. I budget one yellow sticker per annum even though, quite surprisingly, its the first yellow sticker that the car has ever had! If I do get a yellow sticker with the single turbo setup I will apply for mod permits and get it emissions tested.
  15. very nice nick! i really like how the 90* elbow is apart of the casting of the comp cover, i wish garrett did something like that
  16. Wow that boost curve looks EXACTLY like mine.. good thing im getting rid of my twins next week! Great power considering max power is being made at only 1.2bar almost exactly what i made with -7s. Edit: does anyone think its a possibility that the stock bovs are opening slightly when on full boost hence the boost falling over? I wonder if stronger BOVS will make any difference.
  17. they are quite simple yet sexy arent they
  18. Update time! My baby has been running sweet and smooth for the past few months (touch wood) but I am now ready to get rid of the twins and smash on a big single Here are some parts ive just recently got my hands on: Apexi EL gauges 6boob manifold (Had to get it sterilized before i could touch it ) 50mm wastegate provision tial 44mm wastegate with all spring combinations from 0.3bar to 1.5bar (currently has 1 bar spring combination in it - hopefully the gate flows enough for my setup and doesn't creep past 18psi! fringers crossed) tomei type b poncams Garrett GT35r V-band 0.82 rear housing Plan is to remove the twin turbo setup on monday and trial fit the turbo setup on Monday arvo! I have booked myself in for Clintons expertise welding services for tuesday so hopefully on wednesday i get to drive her home. Once I'm happy with everything, I will install the poncams a few days before the tune date (21st of this month) and rocker covers will get a slight make over too More pics on Monday night.. Thanks for reading!
  19. Just took me an hour to read through this thread and i must say i am very, very, VERY impressed! Keen to see a dyno graph with the cam timing alterations too!!
  20. E85 for $3 a litre for a daily driven car is pretty much pointless. Only 5% of the time im driving the car will i need the benefits of E85. CBF with drums hanging around my garage/house either lol. Id probably pay as much as 1.50-2.00 /L if it was at the bowzer. How much is Eflex over east?
  21. Wow.. if the only problem from getting e85 was that i had to drive 50km to get it. id be on it now!!
