Imacu8 I wont even go there with the different dyno figures. some people set them high some set them low. ethan r33 made 170 rwkw on an r33 with stock turbo hks cooler exhuast etc @ around 12 13 psi thats a believe able figure meggala Btw I'm not say ing your car didn't make that on that that dyno its just it would read different on another dyno. they are 300-320 hp turbos not 400

  6. boost comes on earlier on the rb20 turbo and yes they bolt up. its a good cheap mod to do but I would get a bigger intercooler if you can first meggala

  8. therb25 turbo is bogger the rb20 exhaust wheel is 42 mm the rb25 one is 48 mm the vg 30 one is 49 mm boost comes on earlier. the rb20 turbo will make 160 rwkw the rb25 will make 180 rwkw and the vg30 turbo will make 190 rwkw. meggala
  9. went to hardly norman's today and I saw the cover comming 17 july I think Gran Turismo concept has most of the concept cars and rally cars sound awsome I got so carried away I nearly bought the cover. cant wait to play it meggala
  10. rust should tell you to keep away from the car a small amout is ok but water from the boot indicate rear end accident the one way to check if its a factory 25 det which I doubt is to check the compliace plate on the firewall it will have the engine there generally they are rb20de or det or rb25 de. make sure its not too rough. you can get good r32's for 12-14k. also make sure they will register the car for you as its not the factory motor could cause hassles. meggala
  11. mick if your in oz dont go the link umless you have a tuner who knows it. consider autronic, haltech, or even microtech. the motoec is dear but also very good. the 180 rw@ 6400 in at the fly wheel allow 20% od for drive line loss the 152 is fine. meggala
  12. I was going to do that to my r32 its a good conversion check with your insurance company first. not much to look out for just make sure the speedo and heater works. and that it runs fine. meggala
  13. hey dave I'm curious did it make a difference to preformance I used to own a 4 runner along time ago that was after market deisl (no intercooler) and was wondering it the boost raie was worth it. meggala
  14. the vg30 has heaps more punch @ 4000 all the way to 7800 but untill 300 there isn't much (on my car in the old configuration) this is the dyno result from when I had my car on 10 psi and it jumped the rollers look at the sharp rise. no reading from 5k rpm onwards. http://www.meggala.com/images/1turbodyno1.jpg http://www.meggala.com/images/1turbodyno2.jpg meggala you will see what I mean about a steep curve taken 2nd gear in an auto. top speed in second in the auto was 125kph @7500
  15. thats it exactly now a quick way to fix the problem but you still get a bit of drop is to put a restrictor in the ine I did this on my vg30 .before the restrictor I got 12-13 psi which dropped to 10-11 over 6000 rpm with it I got 16 psi but it dropped back to 12-13 @ 6000 rpm. driving with a standard rb20 turbo now I can really feel the difference between that and the vg30 the car feel so sluggish above 6000 rpm its not funny and I don't think boost is going to help I haven't fitted a bleed and the car is running 10 psi with the fmic etc. meggala
  16. joel cam and I have similar theories on this and that is you need to strengthen the wastegate actuator hks make replacement ones for the rb20 and rb25 and I think rb26. its a trick problem. I had it with vg 30 upon rebuild I'm asking for the p[roblem to be addressed. the other issue could be in the turbo design with the exhaust wheels and houseing not being big enough. meggala BTW Cam glad to hear you got the probelm fixed. good work
  17. the specs for the rb25det are 240 240 the specs for the rb26det are 236 240 a =good cam for a mild set up is 256 or 264 any more is over kill. and yes I believe yoou can mod the rb25 to fit rb26 cams which are better cause they are solid. meggala

  19. so you have your car? yeah I wont play with castor I like my tyres to much and they get dear whn yo need to swap them often meggala we have to go for a cruise
  20. and drift will be a hassle with wide tyres as well. your grip limit will be higher. you would be better with something narrower meggala
  21. 295's are a bit wide I reckon but some of the jap body kit makers do them not sure who though. 245's will do me set you target at 275 casue thats teh biggeest I've seen try kakimoto he might do one as he does a fat kit for the r33 meggala
