The V Series Spotted Thread
Yin_Sun replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Spotted a black V36 coupe coming out of a building on Charlotte St in Brisbane. Looked very tidy. No mods but still very nice. -
Let me know if this has been done elsewhere. But I am looking for painters and panel beaters north of Brisbane. I am located near Caboolture so going to the Gold Coast is a bit far. Unfortunately after all my searching, I can only find dodgy places with bad reviews. Can anyone recommend a good place? I need to get a body kit fitted as well. The DAMD Black x Metal kit for the V35, with the fog lights. If i Can't find anything I'm looking at going to either "Adrenaline Auto Styling" or "The Paint Project" so any reviews on these guys would be good too. Thanks people.

I live on the north side so it sounds like a good idea. I don't know about other V drivers but my suspension is not soft How are the roads around there? What I'm trying to say is what are you going for? A hard run or a comfy cruise? I'm sure most people would be happy with either.

stuff idiots say about skylines
Yin_Sun replied to pentae's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
The saleman at the local Autobarn (now closed) tells me that I was lying when I said I drive a V35 and that they don't exist. I took him to the door and pointed at my car, nuff said. -
I'm in Burpengary but mainly drive it around Morayfiled. Car: 2003 V35 Coupe. Colour: Silver. Mods:Pod, Exhaust, 19 ROH Wheels, Sound System. Plans for the next Mods: Momo Steering wheel, Xenon Lights. Owned for: 4 Years. Plates: Should remind you of the term "Evil Chicken". But I won't put the number up here. You'll know it if you see it

You're gonna get a biased opinion from a skyline site when it comes to a choice like this. Forget what your GF thinks. Do you like your V or do you like the EVO 9? I picked my V (same vintage as yours but silver) because every man and his dog has a lancer. V's turn heads and have more power then peole seem to think. But that was my choice. Go take an EVO for a test drive and see what feels better for you.

If you intend to keep the V35 go nuts. But if you want to sell it one day you will just be throwing away your cash. Do up your car because you enjoy it. Mods don't make a lick of difference when you try to sell your car later.

Spotted a Silver V35 Sedan at Narangba Village Shopping Centre yesterday afternoon. Parked my Coupe next to it, thought it would be a good place to be considering we wouldn't be scratching each orthers cars

Gold Coast / Brisbane Cruise
Yin_Sun replied to Cobey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I'm in. Long drive from the nothrside but I'de check out the scene at Harry's. -
Was that thread ever created for the QLD V3x owners? Eitherway - I got a V35 Silver Coupe up on the North side of Brisbane - usually see me on the Bruce Hwy going to the coasts.

I've had my V35 Coupe for about 3 years now. Been pulled over a total of 3 times. This is up in QLD. 1. 5 minutes after having it registered on the 1st day of ownership - showed the cops the plates and they took off - the fact that my 85 year old dad was sitting next to me probably didn't hurt either . 2. RBT - This is after I put a huge custom exhaust on (with baffles). Counted to 10 and left. 3. Forgot to put my lights on in the city - it was really bright and I just didn't notice. Cop pulls me up and is about to go off - he had been tailing us for a block 1st in heavy traffic - sees me in a suit and my wife in business clothes. Stops in shock - tells us that the lights were off and walks off. Think he was upset cause he saw the word SKYLINE on the back.... Besides that the cops leave me alone. Lots of P platers in Fords and Commodores keep wanting to race me though. Most import cars tend to have a look and just keep driving.

V35 Atracting Boy Racers
Yin_Sun replied to AlexanderWilde's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I sometimes get people trying to race me. But most of the time people just ask me what the car is! Not many V35 Coupes north of Bisbane. I still remember when the guys at Audio Barn told me my card doesn't exist But yea, when people do want to race it's usually P platers in Falcons and Commodores. Most import owners just want to have a look -
That's a roger on getting them inspected. Know of a places where they used to sell trashed imports as if they never had an accident and never told the buyers. Those car yards went but but you can bet it still appens all over.

O'Briens was ripping the insurance company off. I had a similar problem and got mine replaced the next day for $600. They supply the windscreen readily here in oz. My place told me there were three for my coupe just sitting there in Brisbane.
-
Hi all, Had the same problem. Funny thing $700 should be enough. I got mine fixed the next day at Morayfield Discount Autoglass: 07 5428 3377. Unit 3, 125 Morayfield Road, Caboolture South, QLD, 4510. Cost me $661 inc GST. Hope that helps. PS, this was for a 2003 V35 Coupe.

Need Fog Lights For The Kenstyle Kit
Yin_Sun replied to V35_Paul's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
http://www.japanparts.com/ These guys sell the fog lights. I have bought stuff for my V35 from them before and had no problems. -
Hey it looks like going for genuine Nissan was cheaper then my option. I was gonna import one for twice the price. Thanks for bringing this up, you saved me quite a bit. Hey I hope those tools that killed your windscreen did compensate you. Do you have the name of that place? I don't live down in VIC but I like to know any place that should be avoided. Good luck in your search.

V35 Double Din Facia Kit
Yin_Sun replied to V35DRIVER's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
www.japanparts.com This is where I got my kit from, make sure you know what setup you have. If you have the premium with dual zone you will need a different set of air con buttons. Yes you will need new air con buttons, you will also need a double din cradle. -
Is there anything else about your car that has changed stereo or electrical wise? I have a V35 and I started getting wierd problems like that when I upgraded my sound system. The battery was simply too weak to handle it. I bought an optima yellow top and all of the strange power issues vanished. I'm no expert, but that's my 2 cents. Hope that helps.

The site says it only works for the American cars. But getting the code from Nissan Japan didn't cost me anything. So why pay for it? Unless you're looking for a market for getting the codes for others in AU
-
If those keys can be programmed by Nissan's Consult system then I would say so. Don't quote me on that. But hey, the proper key was $500 so for $40 it's worth a try. I emailed the standard Nissan Japan email address - [email protected] and they sent it to their customer affairs group. I had to explain that I'm in Australia and that Nissan Australia is useless. After they understood the predicament I was in. They got back to me really fast. It only took them 1 night to get me the codes.

The V Series Spotted Thread
Yin_Sun replied to funkymonkey's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Spotted another V35 with infinity badges in Deception Bay QLD. Had an LJ Hooker ad on the side of it. Looked really clean. -
I remember someone from East Coast Customs mentioning his name a long time ago, do you work with them? I never went to him. Decided to do it the legit way though Nissan Japan, less problems in the long run I thought.
