  1. If its your first time doing a cam change then I would recomend doing it by taking off the belt. If your not familar with doing it without taking the belt off it might turn into more of a hassle then hoped for. But then again guess you wont learn how to do it until you have a go/
  2. Well I carried out the head and block distortion tests and the values were well within what was given in the manual so Im just going with a tomei gasket and put it on when everything arrives.
  3. If your doing the belt and you got the money for the cams go for it just keep in mind also if doing cams to drop some better valve springs in as the stock ones sometimes give out especially if you going to have more lift with the new cams but yeah you might get away with stock ones you might not up to you if you want to take the chance and maybe clean the lifters up aswell for peace of mind. Thats what I did anyway.
  4. The drop in cams will not hinder performance up to and mid. Providing your not trying to use them on a stock turbo and have an adjustable exhuast cam gear and play around with it good gains can be made mainly throughout mid range and top end will probably have minor gain but nothing much.
  5. If its the 5 bolt internal rear housing then yes I believe they are the same. Only the external 4 bolt one is different.
  6. As above have said for that size turbo and power dont waste your money on a plenum especially a cheap copy. Also stock manifold is fine and yeah leave the cams til last and I would also go for some drop ins like tomei poncams. And no you cant use gtr injectors as they are top feed , you need side feed. If you are wanting the cheap way out then a set of s15 injectors should get you through but I would go brand new nismo 555 or 740 depending on the price difference at the time.
  7. Hey guys just got a couple of ps3 games for sale Assassins Creed brotherhood and Kane & lynch 2. They are basically brand new so looking for $40 each. Will post for fee of $10. Im located in Melbourne, SE suburbs. <div><br></div><div><br></div>
  8. This is not a simple question of X amount of power will get you a certain time. It comes down to alot of suspension setup, driving ability etc. There are people that have done it with 250kw then there are people that have done it with 350kw or 400kw there no definite answer. My advice would be go do a few runs see where your at and slowly do some modifications to your engine aswell as suspension until you work the best combo for your driving and at the same time you will be learning how to drive the car most effectiviely.
  9. Thats because on the rb25 instead of having the nipple on the turbo its on your intercooler piping so just block one of the nipples off and use either the one on your piping or the turbo to connect to the actuator.
  10. No idea ,they probably lost it and cbf getting one so go f**k it and on top of that 1 exhuast manifold bolt was snapped so they just left that aswell lol. Well thats how 90 percent of mechanics work thats why do it all yourself is my beleif. And how the f**k did it not leak or blow on 18 psi is a mystery to without a head bolt.
  11. Just ripped off my head and wondering if this is the standard nissan head gasket as I havent seen them before so not sure and it appears someone has opened the head before since a bolt is missing. Here is a pic of it.
  12. I had the borescope and tried for hours since my valves are not magnetic it is even harder so oh well Im taking the head off. It took me couple of hours to get it all off and I spent about 5hrs mucking around trying to get the valve. Ill be going for max about 300kw 18psi on e85 and Im leaning towards using the nissan headgasket as one in it at the moment from day 1 has lasted at this power I dont see why a brand new one wont. Ive read alot of problems with cosmetic ones and the jap ones are ridiculously expensive and considering on just jap they have a complete engine gasket kit for $380 looks like value for money and will probably get away without needing to deck the head with the standard head gasket.
  13. So are you saying I have to get the head decked? How much does it roughly cost? Still no idea what head gasket to go for.
  14. Just checked with 3 different magnets on the valve that is out and unfortunately mine is not magnetic. Looks like only choice is to rip head off. Any headgasket recomendations?
  15. Wtf the magnets dont stick to valves?
  16. Where do you find a magnet that small and that strong. I put one down the spark plug hole and it doenst pick it up.
  17. How strong does the magnet have to be? And should I take the seal off or leave it on, because I was trying pull it off and it doesnt come off
  18. I was doing the valve springs with the head on using compressed air to hold them up and as I was putting spring back on the cylinder moved down and dropped the valve and now the cylinder is at the bottom with the valve down there, Ive pretty much prepared to take the head off now but just going to ask before I do if anyone has any ideas. <div><br></div><div>And also if Im taking head off what head gasket should I go for, stick with the stock rb25det or aftermarket metal one and what thickness?</div>
  19. Yeah as said above dont worry about it. Only 2 reasons where you would consider changing is if you intercooler you have at the moment is causing a restriction to your power or if you get a defect for cutting a hole.
  20. Just drop in some poncams and only get adjustable cam gear for the exhuast so you can keep vct and tune the exhuast side.
  21. You can upload pics. Its got the option at the bottom.
  22. On lygon yeah? That was my freind. Saw you parked there.
  23. Thats how it looked for anyone interested lol.
  24. But what do you lever against? I was thinking of doing that but I saw it touching the oil pump or sump edge so I didnt want to do it incase something else breaks.
  25. yeah lol I i wish I had 600 lying around ill just stick with another stock for $100.
