  1. You don't have to do that even, There are three wires that going into the coil. Grab the fattest one & clip the timing light induction loop around it. If your light is at all good it should be enough to trigger it. Then you can set the timing.
  2. Given how Mark has driven this year (quite often dragged the Williams around the circuits & soundly beaten his team mate) & also how he has bitten his lip & not paid out on the team for their lack of reliability I fail to see how any one could not have respect for the year he has had.
  3. At this stage of the year there is very little in the way of evolutionary development left in the cars. A large part of the teams resources are necessarilly focussed on next year & in any case there are only so many things to improve on a car before you have to fundamentally change it. As a great many commentators have noted, the important difference will be whether or not Michelin can infact do a better job than Bridgestone over the remaining few races. You would have to say that Bridgestone have been the tyre of choice for the lest three or four GP's. This has a much greater impact on the teams relative performance than almost anything else at the moment. And, no Michelin don't built Renault engines any more than Bridgestone build the front suspension on a Ferrari.
  4. No the theory of F1 driver relativity only works between teammates. If Alonso loses this year you can put it down to Michelin dropping the ball.
  5. Actually, because he is such a talentless hack he only has to do it once to show that Schumacher is no longer at the top of his game.
  6. Just be aware that irrespective of whomever does it there is a fair chance it will crack the paint around the guard where it is rolled.
  7. "might have something to do with the fact MS sat behind him while he completed his pit stop..." How did that make any difference? He was already behind him.
  8. the sphincter of the universe. Won from pole.
  9. Look how well Mansell got on with them. And Ferrari for that matter. And Williams. And Lotus. Actually, back in the day Rosberg got on alright. As did Lauda. Even de Cesaris. That it didn't work out for Montoya probably says more about Montoya than McLaren. After all he didn't really get on at Williams, either. Let's be honest if Ron Dennis can get on with someone as difficult as Ayrton Senna, he can surely get on with Alonso.
  10. I just wonder what Kimi's reaction will be if and when Ferrari insist he starts doing dodgy shit a la Schumacher. Ron Dennis is painfully even handed with his drivers and painfully fair in his dealings so such things may come as a bit of a shock to Kimi. I don't rate Massa. That he can beat Schumacher reflects badly on the German, not well on the Brazillian. Why wouldn't Alonso settle in at McLaren? He has consistantly shown he can handle the massive pressure he has been put under (Alot better than some others). His comments on Schumacher were very exacting - great driver - not great for a number of other reasons. Hardly whinging.
  11. It will be interesting to see what happens when Ferrari get a motivated top line driver back in one of their cars. I remember how much the other Kimi upset Senna when he turned up at McLaren all those years ago. Senna had grown a bit complacent from having a second rate team mate (Andretti in this instance) & he really had to pull his finger out in the last few races before he disappeared of to Williams.
  12. If you turn the inner section clockwise (ie rotate the cam clockwise without moving the timing belt) you will have advanced the cam timing. Inlet is same as exhaust. The camgears should have it marked on them....
  13. You only buy a GTS-R if you want a GTS-R. In terms of bang for your buck a GT-R will absolutely kill it. The money being asked is in the right ball park. Depends on condition & kms also. The dark blue colour is correct. You will probably be able to find a GTS-R front spoiler at one of the wrecking yards. I briefly looked into it ages ago for an R31 & turned one up in SA. Rims may be harder. BTW, is this the car?
  14. The politics of F1 is one of the principal reason why so many disfunctional decisions get made. By and large it is because, for want of agreement, a bad decision is implemented simply because it is preferable to the status quo. Too many teams do what is in their immediate short term interest - to the detriment of the sport & as often as not their own long term interests. The officials in question, in my opinion, made a bad decision. Part of the duty of the officials is to be independent and not influenced by lobying or other factional interests. When this doesn't occur, well does anyone remember the farce that was the last iteration of the WTCC? BTW, what have V8's got to do with it?
  15. As I said, I think it was a bad decision - as was the one relating to Schumacher in Hungary. Both drivers should have been penalised. The GP drivers themselves are up in arms about it - simply because it makes no sense.
  16. Personally I refuse to even discuss F1 with anyone who hasn't spent atleast 6 months backpacking through Europe.
  17. Alonso wasn't penalised simply because he was ahead BEFORE he tried to turn into the chicane. Which is to say, for exactly the same reason that Schumacher wasn't penalised in Hungary. Doesn't stop the decision being a stupid one on both accounts, however...
  18. Here's hoping that with Schumacher on his way out the standards in F1 will improve. To anyone who doesn't believe that the FIA are perfectly willing/capable of manipulating events to suit themselves:
  19. Can you quote a part number?
  20. Roy, You should have two D brackets/bushes per bar. The photo is of the GT-R bars, but the droppers are much of a muchness. Gt-R set only comes with the rear droppers - the fronts just bolt up to the standard ones.
  21. Have a compare & contrast between the compressor maps for the -5 & the -7. Given the small difference in size & the marked difference in efficiencies why would you choose the -7? Admittedly at 30#'s airflow on the -5's you will be looking at a 600+hp engine, but this isn't off the planet surely?
  22. My faith is only maintained by the belief that Webber only signed with Red Bull for one year & will be in a Renault in 2008. Unfortunately I have no foundation for that belief. Damn.
  23. But no new sponsorships.....yet. With that driver line up I guess Renault doesn't want to win next years world championship.
  24. Yep, thanks Richard. I looked up Nengun/Greenline who didn't list them, but as you say the project Mu website lists the GPRN001 at 63,000 yen for the front pair. No such things as a rear set. Guess I will have to fire off an email or two. Looks like about $800 delivered?
