  1. Would the insurance company still have to replace the exhaust with a standard one,if so maybe you could pay the extra to the panel beaters to get what you want ? Or do the insurance companies give you the arse all together if you have mods that are not listed ?? Just having a guess, have not had a prang for a long time, 50 years , had all of mine up to 22
  2. See , you are an optimist I will be getting a plane down to Sydney in a couple of weeks and driving back in the R, ZOOM ZOOM ! Now that is a real optimist , haha
  3. Faarrarararrarrarararrarararra rararrarararrrarrrararararK you Brett BUT it is Xmas and you never know, Santa could come early
  4. What turbos are you using ?
  5. Well my optimism is dwindling RB30 block not back yet , I understood from a few blokes that this could be done quickly as it is not a big job for a well equipped workshop ? Trannie pulled down, has a problem and still in bits , but no real problem. Head still out being "worked on" Asked for a finish date, could not get one BUT I am sure it will be done soon and I will be driving it before Xmas
  6. As Hadouken said and most things I have read on the site would indicate, smaller turbos and smaller cam duration for response , under 260s, maybe 250 ish seems to get them going pretty quick. I think Mick"s cams are in the 250 range and he said they are great for response, hope my memory is working, sorry Mick haha? .
  7. I never thought much about it, I would make them an offer if it was not in the policy, cannot find mine and have sent them an email asking for a copy.
  8. I am going to find out on Monday if I get to keep the leftovers if something bad happens . Most of the good shit will still be OK and can wack it into another R and save a shitload of $$$$$s on all of the mods for a new build
  9. maybe because I put a twin turbo kit on it ??
  10. Yeah they have a pretty good reputation from what I found out 8 years ago, hope they are just as good now
  11. Thanks for that Terry, I will look into that next time Mine was about $1900 for $45000 with a $625 excess with Just Cars
  12. I'm trying but as you blokes have said, there is always some shit that keeps coming up to slow things down. Now, put your bib on and have a schooner or 10, you have been working Fn hard for yonks and enjoy a break
  13. I did not know that the NRMA insured imports ? Might be wrong but I think I tried to insure my 350GT Skyline 8 years ago and they were not interested. AAMI was the same and I had 2 cars with them at the time, if I remember correctly , Just Cars is an AAMI company and the bloke I was talking to gave me their info. I tried Shannon's and they were much more expensive. Going to try some of the others when the insurance is due.
  14. I must be thicker than I thought, so I will take your advice The good thing is that the parts that were stuffed are not that expensive and the plates were being changed anyway when they were doing the modifications
  15. They said it was working OK and if anything would have been stronger as the plates had tightened up or something like that. It was end of year golf party yesterday and had a shatload of red, so my recollection may be a bit blurred
  16. ^^^^^ There you go Plattsy, if you want to see some really bad Trannies , take Bens advice, I did and understand what you were saying , mine was not smashed to bits Ben do not Google F**cked trannies , gets a bit XXXXXXX , but worth a look ,haha GTSBoy, I meant if I smashed it up a bit with a hammer then Plattsy might have thought it was bad enough for him so he did not waste his time looking at my slightly damaged trannie. But as I was getting my car put back together at the time and all sorts of shit seems to happen in these workshops, I did not need something else, or excuse to hold the work up
  17. How fcked up do you want, hit this with a hammer a few times might get it to your liking ? Pretty stuffed up enough for me
  18. Hi Guys They pulled my transfer case down to find this How would it work without any noise or something, I did not notice and the blokes at the shop did not notice??
  19. HAHA, get married , a couple of rug rats, extra mortgage , etc etc and goodbye GTR , hello Holden/Ford VW
  20. But you have more money than sense:) How come you have not got it right by now, 5 motors??? If mine is not as I want it , I will be sooooo pissed off But I am sure it will be and then some
  21. I understand what you are saying, My 350GT was a much better car to drive, well as a DD. I was totally disappointed with my R34GTR and working on it now to get it how I want it to drive. Not cheap but will be interesting to see if it lives up to my expectations once it is finished
  22. You could not get the R33 to get going after spending $40K + odd ?
