  4. I"ve heard that Redline has a new formula that foams up or something, I"ve used it before but ATM I"m scared off it. I actually just put in the last bit of some shockproof I had lying around, about a litre, LOL, the box still sounds like a grinder. What didn"t you like about the friction modifiers ? they sound good in the advertising, but then everything sounds good in a ad. I"m quite willing to pay for any oil that has the extra protection benifits.

I'm getting it rebuilt at Award gearbox and diff, they will replace everything with new and do a internal mod to help with the oil feed to the front, diff might get some shims as well, works out the same price as the new box but get better syncros (series 3 I believe)and the oil mod so I've got to be happy with that.

Thanks Duncan, my problem is to rebuild it would cost almost as much as a brand new item. $2700 for a new one, or $1500 for rebuild but I need new gears which from my nights of googling are around $1000, and second hand boxs of unknown condition are over $1000. Seems like I need to win Lotto or stop thrashing the car, Ill wait for Lotto I think, thrashing the car is so much fun.

G,day, Ive been using my R33 GTST for superspints and drag racing, problem is my gearbox has stripped the case hardening of the gears, Ive been told that due to launching and prolonged high G high power (380ish killerwasps) loads the oil in the box gets pushed back and has starved the gears of oil thus damaging them, the oil was Hi-tec and changed every 5000k or so and was at the fill point.. Im going to buy a new box from just jap and want to know should I over fill the box a bit, Im also going to put in some Nulon SYN75W90 and Nulon G70 in it as well. Unfortunatly I do not have the funds for dog boxs or stuff like that, my max cost is around $3000 for the box and oil and other stuff to get it installed. Any help or info will be much appriciated.   11. I offered for you to have a look at them earlier, the 30th of November, you said you would look at them on Monday, a mate grabbed them prior to you looking at them. I posted they were sold straight away. I can post our PM messages if you cannot recall As the owner it is my right to sell them to who ever turns up with the cash, maybe you should have turned up with the cash when I told you to come over. Either way I'm happy as my mate said I can still use them, win win situation if you ask me. Please DONOT reply to any of my posts or future sales as refusal may offend.

  13. Stripped the hardening of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, 4th and 5th are the only gears that dont whine like a biatch. UNIGROUP are in contact with BEARS to rebuild it with a internal mod which will feed oil to the front of the box. Hopefully get it sorted in a week or two, hopefully.

  15. Car might not be there as gearbox is kaput, unless of course its there getting fixed, I might bring the bike, unless of course I've sold it to pay for gearbox and stuff. On a side note I may have been killed by the missus by then for breaking the car, see is somewhat upset at me and my money pit ATM.

  19. As the gear box in the boat has gone kaput I am forced to sell my bike to raise some $$$$. It is a 2010 KLX250SF Motard with a 300 barrel and piston fitted by Red Baron Motorcycles. The origimal barrel and piston which were replaced at 3000k will go with the sale. Reason for 300 kit was because it sounded like a good thing to do at the time. TK Pipe with jets to suit, Renthal bars, disc lock. The bike was used as my get to work bike in sunny weather. The thing is a weapon in the traffic with instant turn in, exellent visibility and cheap on fuel and servicing. The model is also learner legal. Rego till 15 March 2013, rego costs $112 a year and the green slip cost me $245.99 Price is $4800 or nearest reasonable offer. Thanks, Mark Pics
  20. Got some from Kmart, mixed size bag of about 20 for $10, 5 had velcro tabs on them for puting them on a towel rack but the others were fine, size ranged from 200 x 200 to 400 x x400. The kids got me a name brand one for fathers day which most likely cost more than the pack did but was no better quality, a few even looked exactley the same. There was even one with micro fibre on one side and a plastic like super soft scourer on the other which is great for getting the brake dust and road grime of rims without scratching. +1 for not using fabric softener, I needed to wash mine a couple of times using a heap of detergent and hot water to get them working good again after I used some fabric softener thinking it would be good..

  23. When I was a P plater I fabricated a 2 1/4' polished copper tip for my LJ GTR with some material I got out of the scrap bin at work, that was in 1981. Thats how we use to roll. That exhaust tip and wearing a onion on my belt pulled the chicks.
