  1. ok basically the reason i am trying to bump the pressure up is because i had it on the dyno n it made 346hp at the wheels but was running a tad lean top end so was trying to avoid buying injectors for now coz they are expensive, thought a fuel reg may work as a cheaper option coz i want to sell the car but now i have this issue, n the reason i dont change injectors around is coz its one hell of a mission to get the rail out to swap them over. cheers
  2. Hey guys im having some headaches with my R33 GTST. I put a sard fuel pressure reg on it on wednesday night n bumped the pressure up to 52psi at idle. 10psi more than stock reg showed, anyhow it ran fine for one day. Idled normal and ran beautifully on boost. Until the next day it developed a misfire. At cruise and idle would run on 5 cyls but on acceleration would clear itself up n run on 6. basically i compression tested my engine all readings are the same so scratch that. i swapped coil packs around and number 2 was still the problem so scratch out coil packs. Had a look at all my plugs n they were all very black n number two was soaking wet. Whacked 6 brand new plugs in there n started it up, after it cleared itself it ran on 6 cyls. had fuel pressure set at 36psi, as soon as i started to bump pressure above 42psi it started to run on 5 cyls again and number two n was still the cylinder misfiring. Also another thing to note is my idle hunts sometimes when the misfire occurs, like its got a major air leak, 500rpm to 1500rpm n so forth until it stalls. but this isnt all the time. tried squirting water around the intake manifold on number twon injectors to see if it was sucking in air from the seal but no difference. Im stumped, anyone know the symptoms for a faulty injector??
  3. yeah i have a bosch 040 intank but its definately not the fuel pump priming that a can here. It comes from the front. even can here it humming while its idling too. Cars running on 5 cyls now though so abit concerned am going to check fuel pressure tonight n evaluate the situation. :s
  4. Hi i fitted a sard fuel pressure reg last night onto my r33. Increased fuel pressure to 52psi at idle but now when the ignition comes on to prime the system before engine start up there is a real loud whine noise from the fuel line or reg. Is that normal when u increase pressure past standard?? Freaks me out.
  5. hey guys sorry for late reply. i dont have the internet at home so im at work currently. will post dyno sheet up on weekend for u. YES the figures were extremely lean. over 13:1. It was done at hiu torque performance dyno day. i told him to watch the air fuel ratio coz i'd not had it dyno'd since after run in but the a/f's were way too lean. it run about 11psi then spikes to 15 at 5500rpm you'll see that in the gragh when i post it up. run was done bout 3pm in afternoon and was in 3rd gear. i havent changed injectors on it n its still running stock management(that i know of) although i dont have a speed cut anyway for some reason. theres always critics so i dont mind the critisism. anymore questions i'll be happy to answer
  6. dyno'd it before i built the engine n put the highflow on. made 213hp or 160kw on 13psi but had stock cooler back then too.
  7. rb 26 crank rb26 rods 86.5mm forgies 1.6mm headgasket gcg highflow with vg30 exhaust housing 600x300 cooler bosch 040 stock computer n injectors 346.1hp(258kw) at wheels on 15psi
  8. finally got the chance to dyno my car in its current state. Using the hiflow which a have copped alot of flack about with using it, need bigger turbo etc but to me it was good. Got stock computer and injectors so mainly was to check a/f ratio's but made 346.1hp(258kw) at the wheels on 15psi. got power fc ready to go in but just need injectors now coz stock ones are at the peak. Rebuilt motor(rb26 crank n rods) ross forged pistons, head work,1.6mm head gasket, reprofiled cams, front mount cooler, bosch 040
  9. well i finally got the car going with this turbo setup although i have rebuilt the engine, got cams now etc so not just the turbo upgrade which makes it hard to note the difference in turbo response etc plus im still running the stock cooler and ecu at this stage as funds are not in my favour. Turbo duz feel nice although im only running stock boost and the car is definately faster that before with the stock turbo and running 13psi. just gotta eliminate stock cooler, ecu, dump pipe and injectors and i will be able to put a power figure down
  10. Item:R33 Turbo Location:gold coast Item Condition:broken Reason for Selling:no use Price and Payment Conditions:offers Extra Info:Turbo will be perfect for someone looking to highflow one so its just a direct swap onto there car n not have it off the road for a week or so. Contact Details:0411 468 767 Shane
  11. I'd go the highflow gcg option in your case, will be ideal for u.They are capable of making 230kw at the wheels comfortably with the right support items
  12. got the turbo back now and it looks good, its amazing the difference in exhaust wheel size in the standard turbo to the hiflowed one.Much larger im eager to see how it drives and boosts so in afew weeks when i get my car running will let u all know
  13. oh and by the way if anyone wants a vg30 single turbo the fella i bought it off has another one co-incidently and is on the gold coast so pm me for his contact number
  14. i managed to locate a vg30 single turbo and it is now down at gcg along with an r33 turbo getting the hybrid hiflow done. im interested to see what sort of power i can expect from it, im aiming for 250kw so will update when time comes.
  15. thanx cube, just is a real mission to find a turbo of the single T VG30 every wrecker on the coast that i have rang hasn't got one and says goodluck finding one, rare as rockin horse sh**
  16. hi, were those photo's and measurements all for the vg30 turbo??
  17. does anyone have turbo numbers or visual differences between the tt turbo a the single turbo off the 300zx?? dont wanna be sold the wrong turbo thats all
  18. yes they are good especially when used in conjuction with the power fc ecu. There are other options of course, i believe the blitz ebc is a popular choice also.
  19. thanx guys, i will be going for the .82 housing as it sounds like the ideal pick for what i want, gcg also said they would make it a GT35/66 where the compressor wheel is a T04R 66mm wheel. Should be good
  20. Hi all, over the long buld of my engine and accesories i have come to a part where i am not that familiar with and would like some advice, the topic in question is turbo housings sizes. I am getting a gt35r, power target of at least 300kw at wheels, what would be the top end and lag differences between a .82 rear housing and a 1.06 housing? I am told a .82 housing will be sufficient for that pwer target can anyone tell me of results or there oppinons about the housing choice and possible outcome?
  21. think its got something to do with what pistons u chose to buy as appose to what size the gudgeon pin is. I got Ross forged pistons for mine and had to machine out the little end to fit the gudgeon pin in.
  22. i wouldnt resort to boring out those blocks to increase capacity. Get proper stroker kit if it means that much to u. U will be hurting when u pull some decent numbers with your 87.5 or whatever bore size and cracko. Or if there to small in general they will have poor heat disapation and the engine will run hot. Standard bore is 86 mm
  23. do what i did and stroked the rb25 engine with a GTR crank Little bit of machining had to be done to block but didnt cost much at all. Also bigger head gasket and 1mm was taken out of the combustion chambers in the head to decompress it down abit
  24. ahh the revs thing i was unaware of, nice to know. I got a max revlimit of 8k on mine in future anyhow. Thanx for info steve
