  1. Timing belt was changed before i bought the car. How will i tell if it has jumped a tooth? How do you find the 0.82 housing?
  2. Pulled the cat off today and there is no restriction in there Besides the muffler (will drop that on the dyno) what else could be causing such a low output?
  3. Yes boost was increased by 4psi. I'm not sure if we were able to wind the boost up on 98. I think i will check the cat and then the muffler and go from there.
  4. Yes I believe something is wrong but not really sure where to start. As I said earlier all I have really changed is the rear muffler (removed cannon and put an xforce twin pipe thing). With my current setup I probably couldn't get any more power to the ground but would like to figure out what's wrong.
  5. Yeah that was about as much boost as I could run with 98 (I think). The previous owner said he was making around 260rwkw on 98 so I'm not sure what the problem is. The only thing I have changed is a quieter muffler. Might drop the exhaust next time and see what happens.
  6. Joey yours is the reason I feel something is wrong. I should have heaps of room to play.
  7. Yeah i was expecting the increased duty cycle but not above 90% Does anyone think it's running too rich? Besides bad cold start (not a daily driver) it drives really well and is more responsive than before. Now having traction issues but i don't have the best tyres. First and second gear feel very similar but the torque in third and forth feels insane. Pulls hard all the way off the clock.
  8. I thought i would post up my 98 V E85 tune. I didn't realise i was making such little power in the first place....229rwkw from a GT3040 (0.63) then with E85 252rwkw. Sorry about the quality and no idea why it is sideways Feel free to express your thoughts. I think something is wrong as my 550cc injectors hit 94% on cold nights. Still fun to drive though Cheers James
  9. I can only manage 5.5 seconds with 250rwkw. Was able to do the same with only 220rwkw. I have crap rear tyres
  10. Mine is having trouble lately but i just give it a few squirts and after a minute or 2 its fine!
  11. I have recently tested mine with my ecutalk thingy and not sure how accurate it is. With around 225rwkw i manages 5.5sec. Just had it tuned to e85 (250rwkw) and best time 5.75. Add another full second if i bog down a bit. My 5.5 run had fair bit of wheel spin in first. I could probably ride the clutch a bit to bring the times down but cant be stuffed. Tyres are 265 (cant remember brand) but at 30psi.
  12. Do you think i should drop the exhaust next time? I still dont get the duty cycle being so high (hit 92% yesterday) with 550 injectors and i presume a good pump.
  13. I am tempted to go 0.82 but my current power spread is pretty fun to drive and very usable. 4psi by 2200 and 18psi t 3400. Max power @ 5400rpm
  14. ^^^^ Yes i was looking at yours the other day and realised something is not right with mine. Even the initial 227kw seemed very low as i'm sure it made around 240 last time. Do you know roughly how much extra timing you were able to run? Also did you keep pulling fuel out until it started losing power?
  15. Got my 33 tuned on E85 on Friday with a gt3040 (0.63) rear. On 98 it (14psi) made 227rwkw and on E85 we wound it up to 18psi and made 252rwkw but gained around 30-35rwkw through the midrange. Feels more responsive down low but doesn't feel like it hits as hard. My 555cc injectors are at almost 90% so don't have much more room I will post up dyno sheet soon.
  16. Well its not PULP tune cause it will have 20% more fuel. I just want to know if it will run. It wont be thrashed.
  17. I'm hopefully getting my mine tuned in the next 10 days or so with E85. Now i have an ECUtalk thingy that lets me add fuel and timing across the whole map up to 20%. Will i be able to safely fill up, add some fuel and get to the tuners (prob 20km away). Thanks in advance. James
  18. After 15 years a tiny un noticable weep is enough to drain the fluid inside. If yours was stuck on it was not because of the fluid. The bi metalic spring would have most likely been your problem. This does work as i have done it twice and many others have also done it on other vehicles. Skylines are just like any other car.....nothing magical.
  19. In case anyone wants to know if you suspect your clutch fan is not up to scratch you can service these. I have done this to my 33 and to my Patrol (same unit). Go to Toyota and buy 2 tubes of silicon oil (i dont think nissan sell it) around $10. Pull hub off and carefully drill 2 holes (not as easy with one hole) in a meaty section of the hub but stop as soon as you get into the hollow inside. Fill up cavity with silicon oil. The second hole allows air inside to come out. Seal up holes with grub screw or normal screw with some thread tape. Put it back together and you will have a fan that works and will not be stuck on like most ppl beleive. If its sucking a lot of air then its working.....I would rather rob a few HP but know that it wont overheat!!!
  20. There is no pulse from the ECU even when we switched ecu. It seems very odd.
  21. My mates tb42 EFI nissan patrol is running rough. After a bit of fault finding we have seen that one of the injectors is not getting a signal from the ECU. We swapped ECU's with mine and its still the same. Put a new CAS and still the same. I know its not a turbo skyline but i'm pretty sure they have a very similar ecu to an R31 or R32. Any help with this would be great. James
