  1. I bought them a while ago (but never installed them) as i didn't read anything bad about them. In hindsight i should have got the splitfires but i thought the yellow jackets would do what was required as i'm not chasing big numbers. Does anyone know what exactly is failing or what is killing them?? The coil pack cover is off so there shouldn't be too much heat. What is required with the ls1/ls2 coils?
  2. Yellow Jackets
  3. Had a low km coil die a few weeks ago and had it replaced under warranty. Took the car for a blast last night and it ran great. Start it this morning and it has a miss. Replaced each coil with an old OEM i had around and it turns out another coil is dead! Could this be a bad batch or could i be killing them somehow??? Car is a S2 with a Dr Drift remap running 240rwkw or so. Had no dramas in the past besides a miss under high boost with standard coils.
  4. I was only getting around 280km to a tank but that was driven hard. I only ever got it tuned once and it was meant to go back to fix a few minor issues up
  5. Just a Dr Drift remap. I kept the old chip so it was a simple swap. I would use half a tank just getting to Springvale!
  6. It took 25 mins to get 20 litres in.....I cracked it and drove home a little harder than normal and it was half gone!! Availability is starting to give me the shits
  7. I tried to fill up at Caltex in Footscray but only got 16L in before it cut out. I put another 4 and it cut out again GRRRRRR. Thinking about going back to 98
  8. Ended up being dodgy coil!! These yellow jackets have less than 2000km on them Grrrrr
  9. Ok i plugged in the consult cable and it came up with error code 21. Ideas??
  10. I drove my r33 today after it had been sitting there for 3 weeks. Started first hit and then drove around easy while warming it up. Stopped at the lights and it started missing. This continued so i drove back home. I pulled all the spark plugs out and they all seemed fine. I then ran the car and pulled off the plug to the first injector and the idle and miss didnt change. I pulled out others and it got worse. So how do i tell if the injector (deatschwerks 550cc) is not firing or the coil is buggered? I pulled the plug out again thinking it may be wet with fuel but it was dry. Thanks in advance. Jimmy PS If it is the injector where can i buy just one?
  11. After filling up on caltex all my cold start problems have gone. Will prob go get a retune
  12. Filled up a Jerry at Caltex Footscray but it was very slow!!!! They told me they had fuel but the pump was stuffed. Going there later to try and fill up, otherwise its back to 98.
  13. Just spoke to some1 in the office at United and they said their supply of Ethanol wont be back until late May to Early June
  14. Been away for 1 month with work and just went to United in Hoppers to fill up and they are out of E85 and said they couldn't get any in!! Not enough fuel in my tank to fill up anywhere else Grrrrr. Might have to use jerry cans!
  15. I used Edge for the first 5000km of E85 and it was not milky at all.
  16. Mine gets too warm so i have flushed the rad and block (all fine), pulled the rad out and cleaned all the fins ( a lot of junk) but still gets warm. I pulled the thermostat out and found it was a Nissan 65 degree one!! I have put a brand new Nissan 76 degree one and now waiting for a hot day to test. Drove it last night as hard as i could and i hit 90 but it wasn't exactly hot. Next i will take the pump off and inspect. PS: Not sure why but bleeding was a pain in the butt!!! It took me well over 1.5 hours to get the air out! Jimmy
  17. Was 40 in melb yesterday and my 33 was sitting at around 102 deg with A/C but the factory gauge still showed just under half!! With A/C off it would sit around 94 (both times just cruising). Clutch fan is in good nick and rad seems fine!
  18. Mine is not a daily and i tend to drive hard 90% of the time so i doubt the O2 has much input. Its only had 1 tune on E85 so i'm not concerned (still uses less fuel than my patrol ) I don't see how you can have such little variation in fuel use considering how much extra fuel is needed with ethanol.
  19. What "economy" are people getting from their E85 setups? Cruising around town not boosting i get around 21L/100km, Sitting on 100km/hr around 17L/100km (Very surprised it gets this low....over 300km to a tank!!) Thrashing around (legally) 37L+/100km
  20. I decided to change my fuel filter today after running quite a few tanks of E85 through it (My guess around 6 tanks). I opened up the used filter and to my surprise it was spotless!!! From what i was lead to believe it should have been filthy.
  21. I have a Dr Drift remap
  22. Anyone care to share how they get their engines to start easier in cold weather on E85. Mine is a bitch.
  23. Ok i took the cam gear cover off and lined the crank up on 0 degrees and the marks on the gears line up perfectly So far its not the cat and not the cam timing. Will probably just put it on the dyno with the muffler off. Any other suggestions? James
  24. Seems to be a lot of soft people on here. The car is only idling in second gear.....It falls off the stands (no idea how)........the car stalls! Sure it's potentially a little dangerous but so is letting half the people on here drive with 250rwkw! Great idea and I love it.
