if you're going to spend HKS money, you could also consider a turbosmart adjustable unit, which are much better quality units with better tension points and come with a set of different sized springs to set the psi, rather than a screw/spring tightener system that the hks and garrett units have the point of upgrading the actuators on a stock turbo is only if you are running increased boost pressure, it is beneficial to have an adjustable wastegate actuator to be able to deal with the increased exhaust back pressure. this allows you to hold peak boost for a longer period, where the stock actuators which can't maintain the increased boost pressure will taper off at peak boost upon googling, i found this good tuning guide for a stage 1 upgrade http://nissanskyline.6te.net/tuning_GTT.htm all the best

Almost Brand New R33 S2 Coil Packs
JGTC replied to Pr0x1mity's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i'm having trouble contacting Alex the seller, does anyone on here know him personally? Im hesitant to think he has done the dodge, as he has been on the forums for some time, but i've paid for goods on the 10th and have not heard from him since some dialogue on the 12th -
Can be a number of things, after market head gasket, worn seals/bores Low compression across all cylinders generally associate with a tired motor, i would only bite if you were to factor the cost of a rebuild into the price, which you would want to do anyway regardless of condition if long term ownership is your goal

The ultra high performance oils (XPR, Motul 300V competion, Redline Race series) are very good in terms of dealing with high heat, high strain conditions however this is only 1 of a 3 part equation - the are; 1. Heat tolerance - pure performance 2. Cleaners, detergents and additives - ongoing engine maintenance / protection for cold starts 3. Oil longevity (suitability for longer time/km intervals) You have to remember racing cars differ to street cars in the fact that they; - oil is constantly changed out every event - meaning it does not require a complex detergent/additive package to clean the bearings etc. - constant changing also means the oil does not need to last very long time/kms wise So the reality is the best oil for track is not the best oil for street What you will need to settle for is an oil with a moderate heat/sheer tolerance, but also have a detergent package + resistance to acidity to last and clean over a 5000, 10,000 or 15,000km interval If you still wanted to spend upwards of $80 my picks would be Redline (normal series) 10W40, Motul 8100 Xcess or Amsoil 10w40 (Motul and Redline are available at most Autobarns) Good options under $50 are Penrite HPR10 (when on sale), Gulf Western Syn-X 3000, Castrol Edge 0/10w40, Valvoline SynPower 5w40 An great medium is the Gulf Western Syn X 6000 if you can find them in Autobarn, or buy direct - they are very close to your full Group V(5) ester based oils like Amsoil, Redline, Motul 300V, but at a fraction of the cost, around $50-60 i believe Hope that helps, everyone wants the best for their ride, just need to adjust your understanding of oils to make a more informed decision

This SAUWA R34 for $55K ~ was always my Benchmark for pricing, to date i still think it was the best value R34 to sell in recent years http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/446039-r34-gtr-v-spec-5a-import/ Other solid buys to memory are (forgive me if the values are off, these are listed prices; Matt's KING87's GTR $55k ~ with genuine Z-Tune guards/bonnet, 6-pot Brembos, Mines piping - http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146573-r34splease/page-149 and Tangomatt's GTR - $90K ~ ~ with Everything, basically a 1/3 price Z-Tune with more - http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/287693-racepace-built-r34-gtr-nur-rb28-v-cam/page-1 Another soild one was this Black V-Spec with HKS V-Cam pushing 340awkw for $65K ~ - http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/401854-fs-r34-gtr-v-spec-with-hks-v-cam-ex-tpg34r/ -

Thoughts On This R34 Gt-r?
JGTC replied to No Crust Racing's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I've tracked a few seemingly good value R33s, IMO they are extremely slow sellers There are 2 good buys on the market ATM (in my eyes) for 33's; 1. $24,000 Series 3 ~300kw http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/459263-series-3-r33-gtr-for-sale-melbourne/ 2. $20,000 Series 1 - Claimed 78,000 kms - KN6 Grey, stock -

No idea of the condition, but it does seem like a good base to build, local-ish is also a step in the right direction http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/lynbrook/cars-vans-utes/r34-gtr/1087776979 All the best with your search, this is one of my fav threads at the moment, only second to the R34 picture thread -
Thanks for the informative post Simon, it would also be good also if anyone has any feedback for good transport companies from WA to the Eastern states

Car is a base M-Spec, i'm currently having it inspected at racepace VIC, as i'm in sydney thanks a heap, I can always rely on you guys to come through with information, much appreciated Thanks for trying mate, appreciate you taking the time to check The car in question is here - http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/_/SSE-AD-3480145 not as tidy as the photos lead on from Racepace's feedback, but i hope it's got my name on it

Morning Gents, I came across this GT-R yesterday and decided to call the owner as i'm in NSW and can't casually see the car http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1999/SSE-AD-3432860 I wasn't able to gather much information regarding the history of the car ie. how/who bought it in, auction grade etc as the owner claims he no longer has any of the import documentation like export/de-reg certificates, auction sheet etc From the vicroads records, the car was only complied in 4/2014 I understand services like Japanese odometer check exist to get the export documents, is there any other avenues to consider for situations like this? Also the modifications he claims were all done in Japan prior to import, but was tuned by Racepace - seller's list below After market parts including: Ohlins coilover suspension Nismo 600cc injectors Nismo Fuel Pump HKS oil cooler HKS GD Max Twin Plate Clutch HKS 25/30 Turbos Tomei Oil restrictor Tomei Poncam Camshafts Apexi Power FC with Controller Short Shift kit N1 oil pump Nismo style side skirts and Rear bumper pods Brand new RAYS TE37SL Double Pressed Black 19x10.5 Eclipes Navigation head unit Dyno tuned by Racepace 324KW at the wheels I'm pretty interested in the car and getting it inspected as it presents quite well, but a bit wary as the car has very little documentation with it Thoughts?
