Other places in sydney who can source and it suspension set ups - worth calling/email both to see what they can offer you at your budget. If you are able to get coilovers, it's always good to try and have it fitted, aligned and if you can afford the $400 extra, cornerweighting which is essentially adjusting the height to fine tune the weight distribution across the front and rear of the car, this can make even cheap set-ups work really well. What part of sydney are you in / work around? plenty of good workshops that can assist with general maintenance, as well as import specialists which can help troubleshoot particular issues and be more helpful with ordering parts. -
Have had similar issues in the past, whistling/whining sounds coming from the turbo can be bent/chipped fins or just faulty/split vacuum hoses, both can cause issues with the AFMs which in turn can cause the car to run funny. Before removing parts, take it to your tuner, have them perform a 'check up' on the dyno, where they can hook it up and diagnose before removing anything as well as a smoke test to test all the vacuum hoses/lines, faulty turbos can deliver inconsistent air causing issues with the AFMs which can cause the car to overboost, spike or miss. Best thing to do start cheap by doing a smoke test then move on to the dyno in a controlled environment to diagnose before spending money fixing unknown issues.

Another nice car in that price range that came up recently; https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/_/SSE-AD-4648622

Welcome mate, post up the specs, mods and pics when you have a chance. Wealth of info on BCNR33's on this forum as they are a great value buy in Aus.

R34 GTR, Genuine Nizmo Z Tuned, Worth The Money?
JGTC replied to samurai_gtr's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Worth maybe if you are storing the car with future value in mind, but if you plan to put kms on the car and drive it, it would be hard to justify spending the extra. There some decent quality copies here in Aus, but there would be a noticeable difference in fit and finish with the genuine article. -
Nissan Fast website nissan.epc-data.com Hi Team, just thought i'd share a link i saw FB today, for anyone needing to look up their VIN number through the FAST system, shows car details and specification. Might give the guys in the FAST thread a break.

The operator mentioned that the occasional drive to work, visiting a friend and driving to the shop do not fall under 'hobby and recreational' (on page 18 of the policy document) use which is what this policy is dictated on. Another one was if i had my car parked in a different spot than the garage or lock up carport ie. driveway or on the street for whatever reason (ie. moving goods around or during renovations) the car isn't covered if it was parked in the designated 'approved' spot. I'm sure a different operator could give a different interpretation to the rule, but for me it isn't worth the risk come time to make a claim.
-
I just got off the phone with NRMA vintage, just a few things to note; - Nrma VVC cover will only cover you if you have lock-up garage or under-cover carport, if the car is damaged/stolen outside of this location ie. or on the street, the car is no longer covered. - They will not cover your car if it has been used for any other purpose than an A to A trip (i'm sure car shows/meets/cruises are still ok), but the occasional drive to work, to a mate's house or to the shop are NOT covered should something happen at any of these locations. For a 02 R34 M-spec, they were willing to insure it up to $100K (premium of $1300, excess of $1000) without sending through images denoting the condition of the car, for an agreed value above this, you will need to send through pictures of the car to be forwarded to the underwriter IAG. It's a great agreed value and premium, but the restrictions of driving it do dampen the policy for me, especially as i drive less than 9000kms/yr, i would still like to choose where i drive my car and still be covered.
-
Another option is famous insurance, best to call as they are more negotiable on agreed value, have my 34 with them. They also suggested calling in the new year as they are suposedly changing some policys to be cheaper.

The one that comes to mind is DT Panels they have done R33s, and R34 GT-Rs in the past; https://www.facebook.com/dtpanels/

R34 GTR suspension settings?
JGTC replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The lower output lets you savor the revs more in my opinion, i went from 270wkw relatively stock to 320wkw and yes it's quicker, but 270 with stock turbos and exhaust is plenty enough car to enjoy on the street without having to hang on for dear life/licence. -
