  1. If you're on a tight budget, a rechip of the standard ECU is probably your cheapest (not necessarily best) option. Even if there was a difference, I imagine most AU GT-R owners will want to hold on to their for resale values reasons anyway. LW.
  2. Oh noes! Another oil thread! Honestly, search. It has been done to absolute death. Any of the quality oils of the right rating is probably fine. As with most things, if you want to spend more, there is always a way. LW.
  3. Who says that their management system can cope with that? LW.
  4. Your problem with direct gas injection is that their injectors are limited to 33kw a piece. So its not going to be a very powerful RB25DET... That's on top of all the other issues with LPG that have been mentioned in other threads in the last week. LW.
  5. OK, I am definately in. Lucien.
  6. Out of interest, which gaskets do they supply? Cheers, Lucien.
  7. How many people are going to make their cars known to the RTA? Any volunteers? No? How suprising Either Magic Performance is being extremely careful about what he says so he doesn't get sued later on (which is smart), or he is aware his product doesn't meet the EPA standards. Either way, we will find out soon enough. LW.
  8. Patience, and all speculation will be ended SK: Give me a call when you want this cat. Cheers, Lucien.
  9. More lag? I would love to hear what the theory behind that is? I have heard it mentioned that in very high power applications that a (larger) non-split pipe design has some advantages Regardless, the vast majority of people will never get anywhere near those power levels. LW.
  10. Try calling Allan (see first page of thread): he can probably point you in the right direction. Lucien.
  11. Hmmmm... in another thread SK mentioned that the N1 water pump is not a good idea for a street driven car: IIRC he has seen two failures. I'd be looking at some head work if the budget stretches. Definately do the sump. LW.
  12. In fairness though, isn't that a problem with any alarm that isn't installed properly? LW.
  13. I think it does. The Nemisis is essentially two three-point systems, not one six point system. 3-points for the keypad, three-points for the alarm. If someone is willing to take out the box -- bearing in mind it probably takes a good 30 minutes even with a hack saw -- then nothing is really going to stop them. LW.
  14. I agree with Richard that comp. insurance and off street parking are essential: I even pay to hire an off-street parking space for my car. As for Brant, Subaru's theft stastics would suggest their keypad immobilisers do a very good job (only thefts where after owners gave the key away due to threats of violence). Either way, a top spec alarm should do you fine. Remember, its only ever a deterrent and nothing more. LW.
  15. That's the case with any alarm. If the person rips the complete unit out, and manages to work out the wiring, then yes they can hotwire and drive away. This is why its extremely important to have a good installer who takes their time. LW.
  16. I pulled the dash board out (as I was replacing it). I was able to feed the little antenna up the drivers-side vent on the top of the dash. Before that, I was lucky to get a 1m range and sometimes it wouldn't work from some angles. LW.
  17. Whoops, yes I meant Allan Jong (not Wong). His number is 0419 988 679. Personally I don't find the keypad annoying at all. Range improved out of sight after removing the dash board and fiddling with the antenna. I get a good couple of meters now (was originally only about 1m). LW.
  18. Has anyone got pictures of these (replacement) pads? Edit: What I am getting at is unless there is some specific reason, why can't you just re-cover the existing pads with the felt-type material? Probably well cheaper than Nissan's replacement price. LW.
  19. He was obviously searching for drugs or a concealed weapon which, in NSW at least, they have the legal authority to do. LW.
  20. I hope they are able to do better than the current 33kw per injector limit..... Any insight on what the limiting factor is? LW.
  21. Last I head, Allan Wong was head installer for Brant. Well, at least according to Brant LW.
  22. I sometimes let it warm up: depends how long its been sitting and how much of a hurry I am in. If its dead cold (the car) it usually is a pig to drive for the first few minutes anyway (weeee... cold start mode), so it barely gets over 2,500RPM until water and oil temps are up. LW.
  23. A little cheaper if you go through Nissan Silvia (http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...showtopic=99437). I think they also give SAU NSW club members a discount. Would love to hear from those who have had Whitelines and/or Bilsteins... LW.
  24. The first problem you're going to run in to is that every state is likely to have different laws, so I suggest you are more explicit in referring to which state. On a more general note, I think its a less than bright idea to say "no" unless you have very good reasons. They may or may not have the legal right to ask, but I can assure you saying no is just going to create more headaches for you. I always true to be polite and helpful when dealing with the police to show I am not just some go-fast turbo hoon. So far I've had no problems. LW.
