  1. Bad lucky mate. Its probably a bit late but I will keep an eye out. What happened to the roller door at your security complex? LW.
  2. Do you actually know that -- ie. have you done and/or seen some testing of the OEM Nissans -- or are you just repeating what you have heard? LW.
  3. Hi All, There was quite an interesting dicussion of oil filters in the maintenance section awhile ago. In a similar vein, I have search for some discussion of fuel filters but drawn a blank. They get mentioned an awful lot, but usually its 'replace your fuel filter'. Soooo, is there anything to choose between the various fuel filters one can buy? Should I just grab the genuine article from Nissan, or will any supercheap yum-cha brand do? Thoughts and suggestions are welcome Lucien.
  4. Yup: my drivers side window has two sets of nice deep scratches (I assume from the guides). Also interested in a solution/fix. LW.
  5. Do you have an engineering expertise or resources? A c/f prop shaft would be uber nice LW.
  6. Sorry I haven't got back to you with the model number for the boss: its down the road and I just haven't had time. Hopefully get to it tomorrow. Richard: considered a Pipercross pod? Quite expensive from what I hear, but SydneyKid seems to like them. Plus the distributor is in Lakemba. LW.
  7. Spotted FST-R32 (R32 GTS-t I assume) turning in to Norton St Leichhardt at about 5:40PM LW.
  8. Its only meant to come on when there is an error, so be pleased you don't have the light LW.
  9. Bump. Mark, have you had a chance to play with the calipers yet? Cheers, Lucien.
  10. Well there are OSX drivers on their download pages, so my guess is yes http://www.xenarc.com/download.html. I also see they have released a DIN version this year. I was tempted by the Alpine touchscreens, but I want to run a Car PC of some shape eventually and an OEM solution is a bit restrictive (VGA > TV In). The Mini looks very good, but it expansion is a little limited. Maybe Mini2 will be more appropriate LW.
  11. http://www.xenarc.com/product/700ts.html LW.
  12. The HICAS lugs should be at about 2 and 7 o'clock according to what I have read and the alignment with the OEM wheel. Xenarc is not a din at all Its a touchscreen PC monitor that I want to mod in to the dash/dins somehow. LW.
  13. I find that HICAS is usually fine on my car. But every now and then it throws a fit -- usually in heavy traffic -- which doesn't seem to be all that uncommon. Steering suddenly weights up and eventually the light comes on. Worth changing your powersteering fluid too as usually it goes untouched. Anyway, I would double check the prongs just to be sure. If its not throwing an error already its probably fine, but may as well check it while you can be bothered So your LCD if a fold out unit is it? Reason I ask is I have a Xenarc touchscreen I keep meaning to install at some stage... LW.
  14. Yup, that's exactly what I mean. The one I have has the two holes for the two white prongs. As I said, I will double check the model number tomorrow. The main issue that most people have with the boss is that they get one with the spots for HICAS prongs in the wrong place (6 and 12 oclock off the top of my head). Regardless, just don't actually expect your HICAS to work properly: the system doesn't seem to like old age When you take the wheel off (if you haven't already) make sure you mark exactly how the HICAS disc lines up with the spline. A liquid paper pen is quite useful. Oh, and getting the OEM wheel off can be an absolute bitch: make sure you keep the nut on the spline so when you whack the wheel off it doesn't fly into your face. Again, interested to see how you plan to integrate the LCD... Edit: if you do **** up the alignment of the HICAS ring with the centre spline, use the OEM wheel to line it back up. There is a dot on the wheel that matches one on the spline IIRC. LW.
  15. Where are you planning to install the touchscreen? Edit: BTW, according to the HKB website, the 110 is for Super Hicas cars. I am fairly sure the 110 is what I have, which has the prongs for the HICAS. The 115 is for later term R32s apparently. I will double check tomorrow. http://216.239.37.104/translate_c?u=http:/...san/nissan.html LW.
  16. Hi, Thanks for the answers, but just to clarrify: What is the actual RRP on this particular OCC? I'd like to know how much I am saving Edit: Sorry, one more thing, what are they made of? Apologies for all the questions... just like to know what I am buying. Cheers, Lucien.
  17. Couple of questions: 1) What is the RRP on these? 2) What capacity? 3) All fittings/hoses required? 4) Is it too late Cheers, Lucien.
  18. Can you describe the sound a bit more? I have noticed a sound a bit like a tight belt o when my turbos spool.... LW.
  19. The 'HKS Drag Meet' stickers suggest he probably did accelerate every now and then LOL. LW.
  20. This the one I take it . Looks like it could be a monster. Would be interesting to know what the owner used it for.. I am inclined to think drag (though the condition is very good apart from the paint). Wonder if there are any mount points for a cage? LW.
  21. the slot isn't fat enough for an MD: looks more like a floppy disc drive? LW.
  22. Its going to depend on the brand/model of cat. SydneyKid has provided some good solid evidence that a cat -- namely the 4" magic -- doesn't have to mean sacrifices in power. The Apexi 3" is meant to be very good too, but I haven't seen anyone with solid figures. LW.
  23. It can't? Funny, I thought that was the issue. Are you saying that after two years the cats just decide to become completely ineffective? Who woudda thought What do my parents have to do with anything? I am hardly responsible for what they do or don't do on their cars. For the record, my mother runs two diesel cars which are dealer serviced: if its on the dealer's service sheet, it gets done. Wow, no UN agreement, what a suprise: could it be because particular countries have an interest in blocking environmental protections? Surely not. If you want to talk about standards, lets talk about the Euro-spec standards given that its generally acknowledged that they lead the world in terms of reducing emissions. LW.
  24. Umm, no, I think it can be argued that a manual produced for a Nissan specific cat that was produced 15 years ago doesn't necessarily have much relevance to a high performance, aftermarket, newer designed cat. Even if it looses some effeciency, its better than running no cat at all. LW.
  25. :werd: Saying they are useless because their effeciency decreases over time is hardly a justification either. Nobody expects you to replace a cat every two years like some service nazi, but spending a couple of hundred every what, five years, is hardly going to break the bank? LW.
