  1. The first time I was in a Skyline was when John from UAS demo'ed an R32 GT-R for me. I couldn't get the smile off my face for days LW.
  2. Duncan: so I take it you would find search-ability useful? LW.
  3. Sorry to hear this. Is this the same Tarago that was vandalised recently? I've come to the conclusion -- after having assholes do thousands of dollars of damage to my family's cars -- that to live in Sydney requires secure off-street parking. LW.
  4. If you can't DIY a catchcan, I suggest you stay the hell away from your car's engine bay LW.
  5. I would be interested to know too... LW.
  6. Ok, I have spent the better part of the day trying to process the workshop manual with OmniPage. I have managed to get 100 pages done (so approximately 1/8th of the manual): I would be interested to see if people think having text and images (rather than just a series of images) is useful -- ie. the text is now fully searchable. If you have a minute, feel free to download the 100 page "sample" and have a play with it. If people think its worthwhile, I will keep going and try and do the lot. Sample is here (~9.5Mb): http://ugbox.net/~lance/OCAU/lw/R32_WM_Rev2_Test.zip
  7. Website seems down. Is anyone able to mirror it? Edit: Now its working again. Ignore me LW.
  8. I don't suppose anyone here is a typesetter or particularly good at picking fonts? Any guesses on what font(s) is/are used in the workshop manual? LW.
  9. Hi Guys, Your all very welcome. I hope you find it useful. Its nice to give something back (that people appreciate ) to the community that's given me so much :grouphug: Anyhoo, after trying to latest version of OmniPage (and OCR package) it seems it can import directly from PDF. I have experimented with it a little and it will still be quite an effort to swap it over from images to text, but give me a little time and I will see what I can do. Lucien.
  10. If you have the time, some pics would be great (particularly closeups to get an idea of the finish). Cheers, Lucien.
  11. The problem is that, unfortunately, the manual was scanned as a series of images rather than using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) which would have made all the text portions appear as just that, text. As a side bonus, that would mean the text is searchable, selectable, copyable, etc etc. I just tested exporting the PDF to image and running it through some OCR software. It seems to work OK, but will take a considerable amount of time to process. I will have a fiddle and see what I can do. Richiarid No problems. Lucien.
  12. Hi All, I have been trying to make some improvements to the R32 GT-R Workshop Manual PDF that's floating around as I find its pretty unusable in digital form. Anyway, after a couple of hours work I give you the improved workshop manual with rather complete bookmarks (make sure you open the bookmark tab in Acrobat) Download the Zipped PDF (~21Mb) Mirror by Amaru: http://gtr.infinite.net.au/lw_gtr_32_servi...vice_manual.zip Not sure how long I can keep it available as it will depend on bandwidth. If others want to host mirrors, that would be great. Let me know if you find any mistakes and I will try and fix them ASAP and reupload. Cheers, Lucien.
  13. I photocopied some of Troy's R34 GT-R schematics. Not sure if I got the dash stuff as I was more interested in the Multi Function Display wiring. I will check when I get home later tonight. Lucien.
  14. Guys, This thread is meant to be about shipping times/delays, not a discussion of the merits of buying from auctions, dealers, exporters, emus or koalas (of which there are plenty of threads). Lets try and keep this one on topic so it doesn't end up in a flamewar.. please... pretty please LW.
  15. Don't make me hit you........ :fight!: (too late) And unless you are referring to a particularly racey piece of toast, I think you mean 'Race Bred' (which is still BS). LW.
  16. scott: is it a pressure bleeder, or a vacuum bleeder? LW.
  17. The ATTESSA actuator fill point is located on the drivers side of the boot behind a little panel. Lucien.
  18. Yes, the clutch pack in the transfer case can wear out but given that 4WD isn't usually engaged frequently on the road, unless you have been caining it I would be suprised. I would check your ATESSA actuator fluid levels... LW.
  19. I agree in gerenal, however AFAIK there is nothing wrong with my calipers at all: it would just be a preventative thing. LW
  20. Roy: I meant $200+ to do all four corners. I have to change the brake fluid on my car shortly (pedal is mushier than I would like), and thought while I was at it I would change the brake/clutch lines to the braided ones I bought. Then I thought, well, why don't I add a set of SpeedBleeders while I am it? Then it occured to me that perhaps I should also overhaul the master cylinder too. And finally I thought, well, what's good for the master cylinder is probably good for the calipers.... As you can see, things are kind of spiralling out of control. And now your implanting the idea of painting/coating my calipers. Gawd damn. LW.
  21. Urgh... $200+ for tiny bits of rubber: where does it end with these cars?! Are there any decent quality aftermarket sets? LW.
  22. Does anyone have more specific pricing for R32 GT-R seal kits? Roy: is that $100 per caliper or does the set do all four? Lucien.
  23. I'd be interested in your opinion on the Apexi pulley (vis-a-vis the ever popular duralium HKS's and Tomei's). Lucien.
  24. I towed my GT-R from the docks to the compliance centre. Most people thought I was nuts since the drive was so short (docks --> Grey Imports = 5 minutes MAX) but as everyone else has said, the $55 bucks it cost to tow it was nothing compared to a) the purchase price B) the cost of an engine rebuild c) the cost of maintaining a GT-R Keep in mind that the car will be extremely low on fuel too, which will mean you will have to stop for fuel and refill: if your car is highly tuned you might have the issues DRIFTT described. Edit: I did have to drive it between the docks proper and the steam cleaning place though. That was about a 5 minute drive (because I had to find where to go). I kept it to 3000RPM and below, taking it extremely slowly. LW.
