  1. Grab belts suitable for your specific car. The RB30 doesn't alter the belts you use. If your bodgy use the old ones.
  2. I spoke to a few here in SA regarding the RB30DET in mine. In short it was to be treated as a stroker of which I was told required it to be signed off by a select few engineers and emissions tested. I was then told ~4k per emissions test. Unsure how much the $$ has changed but this was a good number of years ago. Now with all the whoo haa of modified cars here in SA (even though its the RCK hoons causing all the ruckus) they may have even clamped up more so.
  3. There was a thread on calaisturbo some time ago as to what rpm the stock rods can handle. A lot had pushed in to the 8000rpm territory. I presume those that hung together run an ATI balancer of sorts. I've been running mine to 7300rpm since I can remember with out issues on stock rods. A mate also ran his RB30ET to 470rwkw with WMI but a limiter @ 7k for a good 1.5years odd. No issues with rods but did end up cracking a piston due to a failed alternator that resulted in lean out. :S I went with forged pistons in mine as I figured cheap(ish) insurance and were a lot lighter than the factory cast.

  13. +1 for the cable tie. I've replaced mine and it would still pop off if not cable tied.
  14. Easy fix.. Set it for VG30 and set airflow correction to 50% for all voltages. That will get it running well enough to just need a 'slight' map tidy up. Its worth while getting the datalogit on to it to zero out the inlet air temp correction.
  15. Free bump. Pitty your selling, you just got the turbo on it and tuned. Tidy car peoples. Well worth buying a car thats had a few light mods over stock. Save in the long run.
  16. checked the vid out. Damn media monkeys. The audio is clearly altered lol. Grab a vid of taking off next to a cop car and alter the audio lol. The media are idiots.
  17. Sex change? Always thought you were a bit of a girl.
  18. I have a set of the I have a set of the Siemens Deka 72lb/750cc low imp 3145's EV1 connector I believe, that have been modified for the RB's. (top plastic bit machined so they fit the std rail). They can be had from the US for ~$410 delivered. Damn quick delivery too.
  19. AU on the R32/R33? I found they don't fit as well. The AU's are a little too tall and they are too thick (fouling the a/c pump hose) The EL/EF thermo's are positioned towards the centre of the shroud so you can trim the bottom nicely if needed. The AU's on the other hand are right down the bottom. So only way to trim is the top of which looks messy and is more difficult to get right. EL/EF are still the way to go over an AU fan.
  20. Nope. Not until your over 333.789rwkw. Keep the std plenum with the rb20 and trim the blades or run an EF/EL thermo.
  21. If its spitting belts check crank end float.
  22. Have you gone the AU thermo's Wisey? Usually its the EL/EF thermo's that fit well over the stock 32/33 radiators. Unsure if the 34's have a different sized rad or not. INVRTD they are usually around $200 for a new aftermarket or under $100 for s/h from the wreckers. Anything else.. I wouldn't go as I've tried and failed, 2 x 12" and 1 x 16" were fine in normal weather but as soon as temps pushed over 30degree's and the car hit a 'little' traffic temps headed north both with and without the a/c on. Under 30degree's she was fine in traffic. I did notice an improvement in economy ~30km/s per tank and throttle response did feel a little crisper compared to the stock fan.
  23. +1 for it being the PFC miss bug. Ignore it. Its normal. It only affects the latest software version of the GTR PFC. I forget what version that is now.
  24. Definitely that sock looks fairly extreme. I've got mine apart again doing a little more work so I might as well pull the pump and check out the socks condition.
