New Bushes And Steering Rack Leak Cost
eightsixboy replied to sk8_lad's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Lol $3100 get f**ked. Ring up some steering rack places and see how much they do change over ones for. If its not loeaking on the ground then its not a road worthy item anyway, it sounds like its not that bad. Which bushes are rooted? Either way that sounds way to expensive. -
What model are you talking about, theres more then one nissan/ datsun model around that age. Kpg c110 hakusoka 240z datsun datsun 510 If your talking about a hakusoka skyline then no one is aus will just have one sitting in pristine condition in there garage. I think there might be like 2-3 in aus if that. They fetch crazy prices in japan so unless you wanna spend like 50k i would look at something else. Same goes for 240z's, a mint one will be worth upwards of 30k or more. I know a guy selling a mint hr30, genuine 40,000kms. I was going to buy it but there only really good to stick in a garage, as soon as they get wear and tear there value is lost. Why do you want to buy such an old car? If you have that sorta cash to spend just think of what else you could buy for the money, 34 gtr etc.

How is the quality of the seats? Do they flex much? I remember someone saying the bride copies from just jap flexed heaps. Do the universal rails need alot of modifying? I'll send you a pm pistol pete. -

Is there much difference between the 32 and 33 gtr seats? Theres a price difference but they look much the same except the fabric. -
You'll need flares or massive guards. Either way there not going to fit without a fair amount of effort.
-
Sounds good to me, as long as there all within about 10psi of each other which they are.

Best Seat Options For R32 - Opinions
eightsixboy replied to eightsixboy's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Well found out you cant legally have a bucket seat in a 2 door car without it been reregistered as a 2 seater so there goes that idea. Prob not the best idea for a daily anyway. Also if i got bride rails for the drift seats your looking at almost 1k all up for 2 seats, i could get r33 gtr seats for cheaper so that puts an end to that one to. I could get the universal rails but cbf with the stuff around. So looks like its gtr seats. Going to go have a look at some r33 ones on monday, apparently there a fair bit better then r32 gtr seats and have a better wearing fabric. -
3G To Spend To Make 225Kw On Rb20
eightsixboy replied to 51NNA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Keep the 20 and highflow a standard 20 turbo. Mine makes 219rwkw with a rb20 highflow, injectors, front mount, bigger fuel pump, microtech and full exhaust. You've already got exhaust and front mount so all you need really is to upgrade your fuel system, tune, afm and to get a turbo that is capable of more then 15psi and you'll have around 220-230 rwkw. Fuel pump $250 AFM $200-300 Injectors $300-400 Tune $850 Highflow $800-1000 Cam gears $150 plus new high tensile bolts $5 Easily done for under 3k. I'd sell the rb25 turbo as there fine when standard on a 20 but once highflowed forget about it, way to much lag. Either a rb20 turbo highflow or hks 2530 is best for a rb20 imo. RB20 turbos are what like $50, hyper gear will do a high flow for around $800 and your laughing. Get some cam gears to, thats my next mod. Apparently helps heaps with bringing on boost. I had some on my last car (hr31) untuned and i noticed a fair difference in power delivery. I have gtr injectors and the resistor pack for sale to if your interested -
sparco Man that sucks, (besides the obvious) what happened?

Best Seat Options For R32 - Opinions
eightsixboy replied to eightsixboy's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks but i might steer clear of the copies for now. I'll see what my mates ones are like he just got, apparently there some of the best copies around, he got the kevlar ones. I sat in the drift blade just before, feels ok but maybe its just me being pretty thin but the shoulder supports do f**k all, I mean my shoulders were atleast an inche below the actual shoulder supports. But there pretty good for the money and still better the standard bench seat. I dont really need a passenger seat so i guess i should invest in just one really good seat for the drivers. Ill have a lot at some sparco and cobra seats tomorrow. Anyone know if the sparco and cobras are street legal? There FIA aprroved but that doesnt mean much for street use. -

How well do they hold you in? Haven't sat in r32 gtr seats before. I'm not doing alot of track work, just deca's and maybe sprints. I'm going to have a look at the drift blade seats tonight, see how they feel to sit in, can compare with the gtr seats tomorrow. Only prob is rails, i heard they dont make rails for drift seats. -
I have been searching around for adjustable arms to give me some neg camber on the front, I have seen the JJR ones from just jap before but havent really looked into them. Are they decent quality or should i avoid? Most stuff now is made in china or taiwan and i'm not as skeptical anymore as i used to be after having a great experience with the bc coilovers. I have been looking at there adjustable lower control arms and upper arms https://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=17838 https://www.justjap.com/store/product.php?productid=16596 i have searched and found a thread about jjr rear camber arms failing but that was awhile ago. There actually isnt that much of a price difference as i thought between cusco and jjr, the cusco upper arms are around $430 delivered from japan.

Best Seat Options For R32 - Opinions
eightsixboy replied to eightsixboy's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I can spend the money on one seat thats fine, i could get a cobra or sparco seat for around $500, but just have to find an appropriate rail. charles89: the only thing i dont like about the fake brides is you dont know the actual quality of the seat and there not adr approved. I just dont wanna have the feeling of 'oh is this seat going to fall apart in a crash'. Saying that the drift brand seats are prob made in a sweat shop in china or taiwan to. A mate at work just bought a pair of fake brides and he reckons there awesome to. I'm going to go have a look at a pair of gtr seats tomorrow, i'll stop into autobarn and revolution racegear and see what they have. I want the seat to be 'legal' to, i'm guessing there wouldnt ever be any probs with gtr seats as there a factory seat and with a sparco or cobra i'd imagine they comply with adr's or whatever. -
I would like some decent seats for my r32, the standard ones are fine for daily driving but would like something that will actually hold me for track days. What are your opinions on the best seats for a r32? I dont have a massive budget, only want to spend around $600 including rails. 1st option is r32 gtr seats, but trying to find really clean ones is almost impossible, almost all have either minor holes or wear marks as you would expect from a 20 year old seat. They fit the budget of around $500. 2nd option is r33 gtr seats, they look basically the same as the r32 seats but are more expensive around $800 3rd option is cheap aftermarket such as fake bride, drift from autobarn etc etc. Atleast the seats from autobarn are adr compliant but who knows how long they will last and were there made. 4th option is a cheap but decent brand bucket seat such as a Cobra monaco, but they dont come with rails.

I always thought fiberglass and fiberglass/carbon was legal in vic? I Knew that full carbon was illegal. Why is VIC such a nanny state. I swear most of the rules they come up with are bullshit.

Can You Take A Turbo Out Of A Skyline?
eightsixboy replied to Tianie's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Please tell me your taking the piss... -
With your planned mods i dont see why you cant expect 170-180rwkw on 14psi, 160+ on 12psi. If you want more power I would go a rb20 highflow, I have one on my rb20 and its way more responsive then my old setup with a vg30 and makes 219rwkw. What ever you do dont highflow the rb25 turbo, will be lag city on a 20. Just remember that more then 180rwkw and you will need to upgrade your injectors and afm.

Can You Take A Turbo Out Of A Skyline?
eightsixboy replied to Tianie's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Only prob with almost all the r34 non turbo models is 95% are friggin auto's. They are cheap though, around 8k. Seriously save your coin and just wait till your of your p's, you can go nuts then. -
Can You Take A Turbo Out Of A Skyline?
eightsixboy replied to Tianie's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It not hard at all to find a non turbo skyline. R31s are almost 95% non turbo, there are also heaps of non turbo r34's for around the price of a turbo r33, i see them all the time on carsales. Seriously if you are on your p's dont bother owning anything to expensive, just buy a old rwd corolla or something and learn how to drive before you spend a fair bit of money on a car. I did my p's in a ae86 and it was the best thing i ever did, didn't care/matter if i had a minor stack, cheap to run and insure. If your not on your p's then siff want a non turbo skyline .
