How To Choose The Thickness Of The Head Gasket?
eightsixboy replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Generally you go a thicker head gasket if your running more boost, makes it safer on the engine. I would just go the 1.3 if 1.1 is standard size. You dont really wanna go thinner then standard. -
Please let me know if someone pulls out, have money waiting .

Try find a nice 32. I've owned both 32 gtst and 34 gtt and i prefer the 32 as a drivers car, obviously the 34 has the better engine but with 32's less then half the cost of a decent 34 you'll have plenty of cash to put in a 25 if you got a 32. Dont get a 33, far to common and boat like

17's ftw, 18's are to big for a 32 imo.

R32 Gts4 Easy Mods For More Power
eightsixboy replied to Live it sideways's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
A gts4 will always feel slower then other rb20 powered skylines just due to the 4wd. Best you can do is increase boost to 12psi and get a decent exhaust. Other then that a rb25 upgrade is the best thing for the car. Dont get me wrong i love rb20's but in a gts4 they dont have enough torque to get moving of the line. just my 2c. -
Ok cool, were bouts u located? Yea still running a 20 and standard box. Yea thats what im thinking to, I'm not sure why they even did it, looks horrible at night, the blue led's are to bright and shine through the cluster and blind you lol.

Rocker Cover Gasket Change On A Rb20Det
eightsixboy replied to r32man09's topic in General Maintenance
If you going to the trouble of doing the gaskets you might as well paint you covers to, not unless yours are still nice a clean. Some of the screws on the drivers side are a bit of a pain to get to, if you have a magnetic screw driver you should be fine though. Biggest issue i had was trying to get the driver side one on without scratching my new paint of, besides that its pretty easy, just take your time and dont drop any screws in the head. Dont forget to mark your timing on the cam sensor to, i had to re check mine with a timing light as i painted my cam cover. -
Just go to bursons and have a look at what they have got. Get the high strength one for the flywheel bolts, i personally wouldnt bother with the weaker locktite products ie there is a green colored one and i think a few others. You shoudn't need locktite on suspension stuff anyways, just tighten them to 'FT'. The cold stuff is called rust of ice, we use that at work. You can also use the subaru decoke stuff, that works awesome on rusted and uber tight bolts.

Man thats sucks, hope they burn in hell. Heres you chance to buy a 32 gtr

Whats with the hand brake rule? I mean as long as it works right? I mean so what if it has one extra click, run for the hills my car is unsafe. Some of the roadworthy rules are bs, like not being aloud to have metal on your steering wheel. Well my gts2 had a factory fitted momo with a metal centre, try explaining that to a cop or for a rwc. Same with windscreens, you could replace your windscreen due to minor chips and then drive down the road and cop a stone and your unroadworthy again. Thing is most cars out there are ''unroadworthy'', I'm sure if they pulled over granny in her ford laser they would find blocked washer jets, rooted 10 year old tyres and no washer fluid.

Hi all, just picked up my new r32 gtst on friday, very happy with the car but there is this annoying issue the car has with the cluster. The cluster is standard apart from changed dials ie there now white and blue, but the actual markings are all the same as original. So the tacho in the cluster, its not acurate at all, i can be drving at say 3,000rpm and if i put it in nuetral it will take maybe 4-5 seconds for the tacho to drop to the actual engine speed. You can hear the engine revs drop instantly to idle but the tacho just does nothing for a bit. Same thing when reving the engine, its like it lags and doesnt know wtf is going on. The car currently is running a microtech lt10, could that have anything to do with it? Maybe its not getting a good signal from the ecu? All my other skylines had accurate and quick responding clusters, so whats up with this one? The speedo is also out by alot, i'm not running massive wheels either, 17's all round. Its out by atleast 20kmh, my gps will say im doing 80 but the speedo says 100. Any ideas?

I'm not to surprised about that to be honest, alot of the gtr's and evo's got beaten by 'lesser' cars. I was actually quicker on the skidpan then most of the 'better'' cars. Its not the car but more the driver that'll determine how good your times are, you could put the stig in a fwd diesel golf and he would still be quicker then all of us haha.

Just dont pay for it untill tuesday then, if your a genuine buyer i'm sure they will get everything ready for you before you have laid down the cash. Hope it all goes well for you. So what made you buy from a dealer just out of curiosity?
