  1. Do not worry Richard " It'll buff out" I am gld it is only a minor ding as it could have been a lot worse at that speed. Makes me remember the double 360's I did comming out of turn 4 and seeing a lot of close white walls. Luckly for me I did not hit anything. I would leave the damaged bar on as it gives the car some cred.
  2. Moanie, They have the best 1/2 or whole chickens in the world. They also do pork ribs and seafood
  3. Paul, Screw the XR6, get a TYPHOON All the power and space for the family. May be a bit more of a whale on the track than the GTR, but they can crack 11sec 1/4 with only $5,000 worth of mods. Sorry to see you selling the beast, it would be good too swap, but I am abouts to have my second kid.
  4. Now we just need to get Carlos and we have the old skool team northside dinner crew back together
  5. Count me in guys I was at R&R last friday night for a Lazy Aged Grain Fed Sirlion. The wife did the 1/2 chicken and ribs. Yum See you all there
  6. Tell the Mods and get them to put a warning on their ads and see if it can be sorted out.
  7. We should start a tote on the punnishment he will get. My bet is for" 6 months periodic detention 5 year disqualification from driving $5,500 fine + court costs Hopefully Habib, you WILL learn from this. If you drive again without a license or like a maniak, I assure you you will either spend a LOT longer in gaol or may be killed or worse kill someone else. GROW UP AND LEARN FROM THIS
  8. As far as I know there are 3 4 door GTR's in the country and one fake. The origional GTR's are 2 x Silver and one white in colour. There is a black one that was build by a Queensland importer that was in Unique Cars 2 months ago for $35k. For an origional car expect to pay $60-80k, if you can find one. At auction they were fetching $65k (grade 4) and only come up rarely. I thinkt here were 4 R32's and 160 R33's made to celebrate the 40th birthday of Nissan. All the cars are V Spec GTR running gear. I wanted on really bad, but did not want to spend that sort of coin on a 8 year old car.
  9. Inconel is the material that most F1 exhausts are made from and so was the McLaren F1 road car. It would be cheaper to make the exhaust out of Platinum
  10. I doubt this will see the light of day as Toyota only makes boring mainstream cars that mom and pop will drive. They have dropped the Sillicar, Supra,Mr2 and anything else with style and power. Unless its a NA 4 door, forget having a Toyota badge. It's a shame as they make quality cars.
  11. I have a picture of the RX7 BBq before and after. Several of the marshalls (mself included) could not see if the car was on fire or just a lot of flames out of the exhaust. If he had stopped by a marshall station it could have been different, as he stopped the farthest from any station possible. It took 20 seconds from the time he stopped before the car was fully involved and beyond beign saved. There was 6x1kg of dry chem put on the fire by the SAU/Renew drivers that were on track, it goes to show us all how quickly this can happen and end in tears.
  12. Thanks for the offer Chris, I have it sorted. I am just installing Picasa to make up a quick website as I have no other software on this PC to do it with. I need to shrink the pics first to upload them as it will take allnight to upload 300+mb as I have optus cable and it is slow on the upload.
  13. i have a heap of pics, about 120 hires. I will hopefully have a small res version posted up shortly. The dual between Paul and Adam made the day as it was nice to see a black and white 34's going hell for leather. If you were at EC, please let me know your car number as I do not want to post up all the pics. I can email the hires versions, but they are 3.5mb in size and will not go to free mail servers due to their size. Just a taste.
  14. Adam, I have a mate who would like to help out. He has no experience, so I will mind him during the day. Mal
  15. Adam, I will put my hand up as a flag marshall. Just got the clearance from the wife, who said "you have been doing a lot of motor sport recently.... GET USED TO IT CHICK
  16. Just to confirm this is the little Jap place on the other side of the pedestrian tunnel to the train station ? Has anyone booked for Rent-a-Crowd? as from memory they do not have a lot of room
  17. I tried a 250cc international superKart, but it was too hard on my back, but the most fun I have ever had on a track. I would prefer to have pannels and a roll cage around me when doing high speed. I understand that there will need to be money spent, I own a business that will be sponsoring it. I am realistic about costs of owning a car, as I have owned 2 sports sedans many years ago. I do not see why I cannot pickup a fully race RWD car from japan for my budget that will be fine for club work. I do not intend to do any national series, only private days and supersprints. Does anyone have any websites that advertise these types of cars ?
  18. I know that I could do the other war around, but I was hoping for a early 1990's GT car that has already had a lot of money spent on cages, seats, gauges, suspension and the rest of it. My understanding it the cage will be compliant as they follow FIA regulations, so it should have a FIA approval, as will the seats and harnesses. It may be a pie in the sky idea that I can get a fully setup car, but from the prices I see for import drag/drift prepped cars, I think there would be pleanty of tarmac cars waiting for a good home.
  19. My budget is $20k for a full race spec car. I do not think I am unrealistic in my expectations. I think that a race prepped RWD car from japan could easily be aquired for that money. I have a further $10k to spend on spares and anything that needs fixing. I have also seen EVO6's going in race trim (rally) for $20k FOB.
  20. Trev's opinion is the same near sighted view our politicians see. It's not he person that kills it's the gun...right Trev ? You get rid of the guns and nobody will die....right Trev ? The ONLY reason the RTA (and alike) do not look at motor parks and driver training is IT COSTS MONEY and does not "appear" to be a bandaid quick fix. If we had extensive professional driver training, say for 20 hours per person, within 5 years you would see a reduction in the road toll as people would be better educated on how to drive. Retest everyone every 5 years on the road rules and driving test every 10 years. The problem is the average state government is only in a 3 year term, so they do not see that far into the future. What I would like to see is every cent generated by Fuel Tax and traffic infringements put into driver training. Setup skidpans and motor parks for people to be trained and also to let off some frustration, by paying $10 and go and crack a few donuts for 10 minutes, rather than hooning down back streets. We seem to be evolving into a world that needs protection from itself by governments, when we should be evolving into a smarter race that can think for itself and adapt and learn new skils. I guarantee that any useless driver can be made to be a better driver, if they are taught how to drive, not given 50 questions, a diary they can fudge and a 10 minute test and sent on their way.
  21. I am also looking for a Tarmac race car. I was hoping to get a fully race preped GT type car from japan as I would expect they would be cheap and well setup. Does anyone know places in japan that offer these types of cars for sale ? I already have a CAMS license, so I can import a FIA approved car on Race & Rally rules. Thanks
  22. I will be there as it is awsome Jap food.....mmmm....jap food
  23. What a great day. It was great meeting new people and catching up with the regulars. I had a great time. Fatz, you need to sort out your priorities as the ONLY wedding that has priority over a great day of drifting is you own. You missed a excellent day, I hope your brother made it home on the steel belts ok. If anyone got any pics of the Black Typhoon, I would love to get a copy. Thanks
