  1. Yeh I'm about to sit back with a Cascade and a sammich and see how this one pans out. To be fair to CRD, they tuned and built many a car... I'd say their success vs. failure rate is one of the better ones in Australia (the was that mob in Perth... what were they called??? RRT??? Something like that). To be the devils' advocated, who's to say the engine was built properly? Another thing is that other workshops will rarely say wonderful things about each other. T.
  2. What happens is that the figures are all uploaded to State Revenue... if yours sticks out they will investigate and give you a minor fine if you can't prove it. With mine, there was such a myriad of paperwork inc. FOB charges, duty, shipping and all that, they just gave up and accepted my figure. They're not interested in chasing up little people like us. If you import a 1961 Ferrari and say it's $50,000 rather than $250,000 well then yes, they'll f**k you over. However a $10,000 R33 that is more likely $15,000??? No point. T.
  3. I think you got off lucky. Because your car is missing just the stock parts and not noise and emissions, they just do a visual inspection. No cat is a big one... I know it seems every rotor driver I know flaunts it but the results are not worth the risk. T.
  4. I think you should put on a cat. T.
  5. What's wrong with using stock rings on forged pistons? T.
  6. I think the general consensus is that SAU loves the not quite 35% tints. The problem is that vision is marginal even at dusk. If I'm doing a turn I need to lower the window because the glass is pretty much opaque. T.
  7. It's dirty and smelly because diesel is dirty and smelly and so are the truck drivers who used your bowser before you do in your BMW X5 diesel (I'm kidding!) Just use those gloves that the good servos provide. T.
  8. Why would this car be any different from any other Skyline in a smash? T.
  9. If you go $15,000 or so ontop you could get a real 34. T.
  10. Also does someone have a price and local source for the screw terminals??? T.
  11. The R32 car looks heaps better than this. Saying that the Double Six rims are probably somewhere in the $6,000+ range as they are. Remember the Veilside Combat model that they wanted $84,000 for? This looks like a bargain in comparison. T.
  12. Like Maxwell Smart says, you'll take it and you'll like it. It's not like the price of milk or bread where you can drink beer and eat kebabs instead. We are all locking into buying petrol. I would hopefully be expecting petrol to fall back to $1.15 or so by X'mas. The global economy just cannot take such sustained increases. T.
  13. True. R33s are undervalued while R32s are holding their value well. I don't know why you have problems with the RTA. Back in 2002 I stated mine at $12k??? Something ridiculous and they thought it was fine. Must have been thinking about old R31s that day! T.
  14. Europe and the rest of the world pay the same adjusted prices we pay and probably more in regimes that have higher excise. Even the smaller oil producers have the same price protections of the oil cartels. The only places that have cheap oil is the Arab nations. T.
  15. Far be it from me to defend John Howard but I don't think the Liberal or the Republican Party can be held directly responsible for the rise in oil prices. Both our economies benefit from lower oil prices. Circumstances and some collusion is what is responsible for oil prices. Next week it will be $1,50! The fact that the global economy is at the mercy of a small cartel is what's wrong. T.
  16. Hey Chris, Have you heard of anyone who does alacantara? T.
  17. This is not the kind of thread that this forum wants to encourage. T.
  18. These are sorta available thru Supahcheap for $40 or so. The book says R33/RB25DET and R32/RB26DETT but apparently the DB1165 is not right and the DB1170 is not available any more and the next one up is the Bendix Ultimate which are only the ulimate brake pad for making excess dust. Has anyone been able to get the DB1170 from Supacheap? I'm about to return the 1165 for credit or someshit. T.
  19. that's a slow arse pic server there... We even take phone camera pix. T.
  20. Are these scissor jacks any different from any other car? Mine didn't come with one so I'd be interested. I use a full trolley at home. T.
  21. It's all a matter of opinion. For 33's the only rare ones are the 400r = 99 units and the V-Spec LMs. T.
  22. Hi there, my screen is dead but the thing operates. Any idea who can fix these? Apparently mobile phone dealers can look at them??? T.
  23. 1. I'm thinking QLD is same as NSW... to be sure, it's a dry pod enclosed. BOV has to be plumb back. There are arguments about MAP based ECUs with atmo vent but I don't wanna go there. 2. Jay was still doing these wasn't he? 3. Sciby has a great dummies how to guide. T.
  24. I'm liking the JDM S15 more and more... But the JDM seems to have heaps of the fruit we don't see here... ie. climate control, Xenons, extra gauges (pillar mount) - better diffs? And also the better turbos??? (That one gets murky - the Silvia turbo situation is as bad as the R33 Skyline turbo situation). Dunno. As much as I like Skylines and the RB and as much as I hate the SR20, I gotta admit a smaller lighter more 'streetfighter', trackworthy car would suit me more. T.
  25. Hey get this... PFC = no stalling Stock ECU = stalling Yeah I dunno... T.
