  1. Or has a healthy bank account...
  2. The more I read this post, the more it makes no sense. If I wanted, I can do up to 155km/h in 3rd then switch up to 4th. This doesnt mean I cant use 3rd at 30km/h! Does the Corona have a 5th? From what you've said I doubt even 3rd gear is necessary on that car! JimX :werd:
  3. Sorry James, uni timetable is ugly for the next 4 weeks *sniff* I wont be coming.
  4.  With comments like that its hard to believe you've ever been in a manual car before. Why the hell would any car manuacturer put a 5th gear into ANY gear box if it cannot be used in everyday driving??? When in 5th gear @ 60km/h the revs are around 1500-1800 (cant remember exactly). In 5th at 180km/h the car revs at about 5000. Where are these 'specs' that say you only need 5th over 180km/h?
  5. The size of the stock dump can only be described as small From memory the stock system is 2.25" You trying to work out if yours is stock or not?
  6. Roil has been in my car now for about 1100km. It went in with an oil change and I used Mobil 1 Super Synth. I also cleaned my air filter and gave the car a full service. Initially the car felt more responsive but I'm tipping the fresh oil and clean air filter were responsible. It was after about 600km when the benefits first became evident. I NEVER use 5th gear below 80km/h because I feel the car 'struggles' too much. Without even noticing I was cruising along at 60km/h in 5th gear. I was like "WTF?!?!" My "5th gear rule" has now been revised to accept speeds above 70, not 80. This is also reflected at 100km/h. Less force on the throttle is required to keep it at 100. The biggest difference is the increase in boost responsiveness. Cruising at 50km/h (before Roil) I could flatten the foot and see the boost gauge rise to 13psi at about 2900-3000. Just today I did the same test and the needle rose to the same position at 2500-2600. I was like "WTF?!?!" About 1000km before I put Roil in I got a new set of rims and tires. I was very impressed with my new rubber (rear 255/35/18). No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get them to spin in 2nd. At best they would chirp. With the boost now coming on a lot earlier I can now get them to spin, not like they used to (with 205s), but they spin none the less. I haven’t noticed a change in fuel consumption and I'm going to blame the fact that more fuel is now required down lower in the rev range to compensate the additional boost. Next time I fill up I'll try taking it easy to see if any gains are happening there. I usually average about 450km to a tank. Roil gets 11/10 for 'Bang for Buck'. It’s almost like adding a high flow cat... and at a 10th of the price! The skeptics are missing out :uh-huh:
  7. The reputable ones will guarantee that when the car arrives it is EXACTLY to spec and AS PROMISED. You should be able to get this in writing before you hand over a cent.
  8. Burnt! Thats the shit thing about Heathcote, too far away to risk rain. Good thing about Heathcote is its a much better atmosphere.
  9. Did you end up going?
  10. J-Spec = I got my car thru J-Spec and was very impressed. Not only was the car exactly what I was after, it came in $1000 under budget, and its in showroom condition. The best part about J-Spec is the extended service they offer. They wont take your money then forget about you after the car is yours. I hit a gutter after having the car for about 4 weeks which buckled a rim, bent steering control arm, and castor arm. I rang Craig and the car was back on the road within 3 days and for less than $500. That included a new rim, all necessary parts, wheel alignment, a tow truck, and their time! They also installed my alarm for a very competitive price. I have since purchased a set of rays wheels, a trust intercooler, and tein coilovers thru J-Spec and saved myself 1000s. Go J-Spec! :headbang:

  12. I dont care... just thought you may have posted the wrong slip
  13. R33vit, the time in your sig is better than that on the slip
  14. Sorry for being 2c whore but funny stuff
  15. I can thrash my car around for $20! I'm there!
  16. I dont doubt that the cop cars speedos are calibrated every so often. Every speed measuring device they use must be calibrated every 6 months, wether it be a camera, radar, or speedo. Just because fines were refuned does not mean they have a device that records thier speed. The :bs!: was directed at the claim that cop cars have a device that records their speed every time they're driven.
  17. :bs!: Sorry, but I cant swallow this. There are too many variables that make such a device completely useless. The biggest 1 being wear'n'tear on the car and thats the very reason the ADRs allow a vehicles speedo to be out by a certain percentage. Where is some proof?
  18. Are they on the way yet?
  19. Nov 2002 Wheels tested a VY Commonwhore.
  20. My car has this time in it! My TS is up to a consistant 102mph but I cant get the 60' less than 2.2 :goddam: What rpm do you launch at? Those Wanli's mustnt be too bad to achieve a 1.9 60'... either that or you're just good
  21. According to Wheels Jan 2003 an Auto Exec Cummywhore does 0-100km in 9.2sec and 0-400m in 16.6sec with a curb weight of 1567kg. Hope that helps...
  22. I vote Arnie for premier
  23. Have you seen what colour the oil is after an oil change? Certainly doesnt look resemble how it went in. I figure as long as my rings etc hold up, the deposits (if any) are just going to wash around with the rest of the shit in there... Benefits of this stuff are proving to be worth every cent... my report later in the week
  24. Those pics are awesome! More!!
