  1. Congrats 2rismo! Thats almost a certain first for a stock turbo?
  2. CR34TION, that avatar is solid gold!
  3. I had a really fun day. Was an awesome drive! Please tell me someone got a photo with the coppers
  4. Sorry to hear. Deepest condolences to you and your family. Just got back from the cruise. It was absolutely awesome.... and didnt rain all day!
  5. My story was similar to yours. With only a cat back zorst, and stock boost (well the zorst probably increases stock by a few psi), she misfired like a dog between 4500-5500. I put copper plugs in and gapped them to 0.8mm. This reduced the misfire until I added a bleeder and misfire became a problem at 10.5psi. I then put in a chipped ECU which removed boost cut and now I'm running 13psi without any hint of misfire. Another thing to check is the stock boost solinoid. If its not working properly the added juice from VVT will cause misfire...
  6. Sweet. After exams I'll come and watch you paint yours, then take your stands and you can watch me do mine
  7. :drooling:
  8. I wanna paint mine too... I really need a better photo but after about 5 minutes in photoshop I've come up with these (please excuse my skill): Comments?
  9. After about 5 minutes in photoshop I've come up with these (please excuse my skill): hmmmm....
  10. That does look very nice... hasnt sold me tho... hmmm
  11. I need a petrol cap and possibly a gear knob....
  12. I got a hold of some so I'll try it in my next service. After doing a bit of reading it seems that this stuff is not so different to the concept Castrol has in their Magnatec oils. I'm no chemist but I'm guessing its a similar sort of thing...
  13. Go see Theo at Mag Wheel and Tyre on Chifley Drv Preston. They'll look after you :uh-huh:
  14. Number plate removed... even tho 380 views have already been counted... I just enjoy showing them off Well needless to say they shit on my bald Jap spec 205s. I've only done 110km since they've been on so they still need a bit of "scrubbing" before they'll be performing 100%. The tyre shop recommended the first 100-200km to be taken easy. They were $250 for the fronts (235/40/18) and $280 for the rear (255/35/18). I'll post up a report when I feel they're at their full potential
  15. I dont think I'd worry too much about the amount of fuel you've got (performance wise). I usually need 2 passengers in my car before I notice a significant drop in performance. Last time I went to the track I used 1/4 tank to drive 4 miles!! Make sure you have enough :uh-huh: Altho I've only ever run on 16" tyres, letting then down is certainly the way to go. Launching is up to you and how much power you can feed to the tyres without them spinning. There is no "rule" as to what rpm you should launch at, just remember that high revs = good revs. Your mission is to find the point between 2500-6500 where the wheels dont spin, then feed it more. Let us know how you go
  16. Robo, that result looks impressive. I've got a few questions for ya; What dimensions is the coola? Is it more laggy? Do you think it'll be enough to shave 0.33sec off your current ET ? My input on dyno issue: :werd: My input on the stock turbo issue: :werd: Great minds think alike For the record I have run 13psi for more than 6 months and have never had a problem.
  17. Where are they?
  18. Didnt you previously swear by caress panels in fitzroy? I would also like to know as my car could use a good buff.
  19. :spcow: You go to hell. You go to hell and you DIE!! :spcartman ... oh yeah, :usuck:
  20. Not according to the stickers on the bowsers...
  21. I'm enrolled at Latrobe, but that doesnt mean I'm necessarily there Usually monday and thursday arvos I cant avoid tho. The thought had crossed my mind but this bayside blue business has got me thinkin... photochop time me thinks...
  22. :werd: Altho I've never been able to notice a more than negligible difference between Mobil 8000 and Ultimate. For some reason I prefer Ultimate tho. As s13drifter began to explain, the reason to stay away from Opticrap is the fact that they achieve the 98 octance via the use of additives which expand the molecules, rather than refining it for a 98 octane.
  23. God bless J-Spec and their contacts I thought about black/navy blue but, nah. I want a colour thats gonna highlight them without being too ghey/bling bling... if ya know what I mean...
  24. Can I come and drool?
  25. Depends on the tyre. Some tyres work better at normal inflation but generally what you say is true.
