  1. Yep, still on Vale St, number 15. You might drive past it a couple of times, they only have a tiny little sign hanging on the fence lol, Andy still hasn't got the other sign from his old workshop. It's next to Malaga Auto Rentals the big yellow building on the corner of Kiln and Vale
  2. Well Kermit is just one guy, not a shop. He does a lot of exhausts for high performance cars so he knows what he is doing. I just told him how I wanted it to sound and how I wanted it to sit on the car and he did the rest. So if you take it somewhere where they know what a high performance car needs from it's exhaust then I would say they will know what to do. From memory, Kermit did just the intake pipe for $150 (might have been $250, I forget). He did all my cooler piping at the same time so all up it costed me $450. The intake pipe won't be much of a performance gain if you still have the stock turbo. If you have an aftermarket turbo then the intake pipe is pretty much a necessity.
  3. Yeh, I agree. Hadn't looked at the photos yet when I commented.
  4. This. Generally the pits are pretty good. Cops might sting you because most don't know what they are looking for, but pit inspectors are reasonable.
  5. eg. You could be at 13:1 when it should be at 11:1, narrowband would simply tell you you're rich even though it's still too lean. I follow you Jonno, I follow
  6. I just don't think you can beat a custom exhaust... I paid $700 for mine, so it is far cheaper than a Jap brand exhaust and is equal if not better quality. It's straight-cut so it will flow more than any off-the-shelf item (There's only a 5hp difference on my car with exhaust and no exhaust). They are made to fit your car, so I don't have issues with scraping on anything even though my car is lowered quite a lot. And it sounds way better than it does in those videos. For me, I wouldn't buy an off-the-shelf item, custom for the win
  7. I couldn't care less for shiny, it's under the car and it gets covered in dirt and discolored with heat anyway. But seeing as this is just 'forum boasting' as you said, I'm gonna go ahead and take the word of the most respected fabricator in WA, rather than the opinion of someone I've never heard of. No offense
  8. Sounds like X-Speed tuned it well Jokes!
  9. They aren't a bad thing performance wise, they certainly don't cause back pressure. If you weld a straight pipe through the middle then they work just like a decat pipe, but look like a cat from the outside. Otherwise I have noticed they drone because the sound resonates inside the chamber.
  10. Thread delivers. Subscribed
  11. Ha, please. You're the only person I know that doesn't like TE37's, LMGT4's, or any other similar wheel... That makes you the person with poor taste in wheels. Now
  12. It's not hard to do. Just remember the basic rule "Measure twice, cut once".
  13. Well ACTUALLY, if we are getting technical and telling people to google here... A decat pipe is a straight piece of pipe with flanges on it that replaces the cat. Like this: Bit different to a gutted cat which is what you were referring to Picture for comparative purposes: *EDIT* I would advise you use caution when googling the term "gutted cat". Sweet jesus, use caution Lol yeh, I saw that and thought it best to stay out of it... But seeing as you called him on it; it's probably a bit much to say the sound of a bov competes with the sound of a V8 lol.
  14. I was being quiet then, you should have heard me in the tunnel Lol. Rohan's car sounds good, especially because it doesn't have that god damn HKS ANNOYINGPIECEOFCRAPBOV that you love so much
  15. Soooooo jelly. Really want to do this, looks amazing. Just can not justify spending that amount of money on tail lights
  16. Exactly. To be on topic; OP here is are some clips so you can hear my exhaust. Forgive the poor quality, were both taken with an iPhone4 and it's a bit hard to hold onto the phone at WOT lol This one is at idle: The camera makes it seem quieter than it really is. This one is an in-car vid while driving: Didn't quite get to redline, caught up to the car in front too quickly lol. Again, apologies for the poor quality.
  17. Then they used poor quality steel. My exhaust was made by Kermit. Those in WA will know what I'm talking about. I'm quite good mates with Kermit, he has shown me pictures of some jobs that he has done. Race cars that have crashed at stupid speeds and the only things that survived are his custom stainless intake piping and his exhausts. He uses absolute top quality stainless (shameless plug for a top bloke ) and offers lifetime guarantee. Go around to your exhaust shops and see how many of them offer a lifetime warranty on all their work.
  18. Pod filter, 3" dump/front pipe, and metal intake pipe... Induction noise > bov.
  19. Stainless is definitely what it is cracked up to be. My exhaust will long outlive the rest of my car. I could leave my car sitting in a field in the rain for 20 years until it is all rusted beyond recognition; my exhaust will still be in mint condition.
  20. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? ECU first, I don't understand why people avoid this lol.
  21. Yeh we also live in WA man... I never had much trouble from the cops while I was on my P's, and since I have been off them cops haven't batted an eyelid. And my car is LOUD. WA is the place to be if you're into high performance cars
  22. Because psi means nothing. It's the volume of air that matters. 33 turbos flow more. 10psi through an RB20 turbo is not the same as 10psi through an R33 turbo.
  23. +1 ^ I ran 14psi on my stock turbo, but that's because I didn't intend on owning it for long. Upgraded the turbo after about 3 months. Never had an issue, but I wouldn't run that much boost and expect it to last for ever.
