  2. the APS kits around 15K and gives approx 280rwkw. I always wanted an R34 GTR but going in this direction instead.
  3. yeh I know. Was admiring it as well. Watched a video of the APS twin turbo 350z. Pulling 12s with ease.
  4. has anyone seen or know the owner of a 350z, white with black bonnet with I think 19in rims??? Seen it a couple of times around Manly/ mosman. Cosmetically it looks excellent, but wondering if it has had any engine mods ie turbo. Im wanting to mod a 350z so want to know how others have gone about modding there's. cheers oz.
  5. Hmmm OK I drove a 250atw gtr and I didnt mind that at all. Maybe I'll stick with this power level as it was easy to live with. People have really poured a lot of money into modifying their gtr's and really they are selling for cheap for what you get.
  6. wanting to buy another skyline again. There are a few gtrs (looking at the r33's) that have 350+ awkw. Ive never driven one, so question is to those who have. Are they easy to drive with upgraded clutch etc. in city traffic. Is lag severe, when does boost come on approximately. Are they reliable long term or do they become money pits. Any other comments welcome Cheers Oz.
  7. dont know of many cars where 8K of mods gets u 300rwkw and with the original turbo. From reports not much will keep up to the typhoon when accelerating.

  9. car plus mods seem to be around the 100K mark. Just had a look at an autospeed article. 393KW at 1 Bar boost and some ridiculous approx 700Nm torque.
  10. Ive been reading that they are putting on single and twin turbos onto the 350z and infiniti. (probably been doing it for a while) Has anyone got performace figures on these. Im assuming they would outgun a stock R34 GTR Does anyone know of someone who has turboed their Zed?? Reason I ask is Im thinking of going down this path rather than getting an R34. cheers Oz.

  12. looks like the rx7 would take it over the r33. by the way it says an rx7 is a 2.6L in HPI. Look at the back pages where it gives you the stats on drags using road tyres oz

  15. Ive been wanting a R33 OR R34 GTR for some time since I sold the gts25t. Then came across the RX7 series 8. Has anyone compared the 2 cars. Not fussed about fuel economy, more so the difference in power delivery, driving pleasure and handling. Im aware the gtr is more powerful, but in the real world is it actually faster? Anyone had any first hand experience with problems with the rotary engine? Im really undecided any help appreciated. Cheers Oz.

  19. will start modding the soarer soon. Live on the northern beaches and found a workshop in brookvale- northernprestige autos or something like that. I'll ask them about the torque converter mod. Im waiting to find a skyline pull up at the lights so I can give it a bit of a go. So far have only wasted my time with an S commodore.

  21. Just registered the other night. Have'nt received any confirmation yet either. Thought it might be b/c of the long weekend??? Your right about cheap- bought mine for 16K on the road 94 model. Absolutely imaculate with 49K on the clock. Has done 5000km in the last 2 yrs. Oz.
  22. Just went into the ALSC site. Plenty of info. Seems the 1JZ is a very well built engine which can handle plenty without internal mods. Like u said the electrics could be a problem, but possibly this is more with the V8s which have plenty electronic gizmo's.
  23. Just sold the line R33 GTS25T a few weeks ago. Only had full exhaust and pod changes. Just bought a stock std auto 94 TT soarer 2 days ago. I do miss the line, but Im amazed how quick these things are. It just pulls for a heavy car. It feels quicker than the line. Im thinking that with a few basic mods like full exhaust, better intake, FMIC and good tuning these could pull 200rwkw. Have any of you had experience with these cars??? I know they are more powerful but in reality are they quicker than the 25t if they are both std or with similar mods? Had a drive in a R33 GTR completely stock and I think that on a rolling start, the soarer would only be slightly behind. Not sure if the torque are similar in both cars and not sure of the weight difference. Will start going into a soarer forum to find out what they say, but wanted to find out your experiences first.
