  1. Ok two new times to update the lists.... Sandown: 1:24.17 Calder: 1:06.30 Once again nothing has been done to the car just the driver improving his craft
  2. Awesome....thanks Ferni....I searched through all the results yesterday and couldn't find it! Oh well I must have missed a session
  3. Results are now up... http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?14/10/2007.CPR Pretty happy with my times but my lap timer recorded a 1.06.3X and yet the results don't indicate this
  4. Ok I'll take a stab...how about variable valve timing and traction control/electronic stability control? I'm pretty sure both of those were developed in F1 and filtered down to road cars but I'm open to being proven wrong
  5. Yeah been good thanks mate. Ok the Fed's make a good ROAD semi comp tyre much like the Falken Azenis tyre but they aren't the best for track use...probably only alittle btter than a good road tyre on the track. If you are going a road tyre look at something like bridgestone s03, dunlop sp9000 or michelin pilot sport.
  6. Anyone know where to find results or pics?
  7. Hey tom....def go the 255 or 265. As for tyres get the best one you can afford....check the tyre recommend sticky thread for peoples opinions
  8. Hahaha nice one Ferni As for the email....yes you should've, I got mine this morning.
  9. Errr not off hand mate but I'll be in my paperwork somewhere.....if you can wait a day or so I'll check and PM you.
  10. Ahhh Kyle it was you in the other black 33 GTR....you should've come said hello The HKS oil cooler kit without the relocator also comes with the ducting as that is the one I bought
  11. Lol Baron....I wasn't suggesting that to be the case....I just need to find someone who will supply me the rotors here in Oz.....does anyone know who I could contact?
  12. Hmmm so you can't get rear rotors from greenline/nengun and the RDA's and DBA's crack with track use.... Whats options am I left with to replace my worn stockies then?
  13. djr...they don't make 5000's for the rears which is why I was considering 4000's Also had a look at greenline and nengun and for the life of me I can't find mu or endless rotors for the rear of a 33....am I going blind?
  14. Interesting read.....I have DBA5000's on the front and apart from some surface cracking I've had no issue. I will be forced to upgrade my rear rotors soon....considering people have had problems with both RDA and DBA's can someone recommend a good rear rotor they have used?

    Just Got A Epa

Why do people who have no experience taking a skyline or turbo'ed import down to Mcleod insist on giving advice SKYHY....I can assure you because I have been through this very process as well as knowing ADR's and Vicroads/EPA guidelines on car mods like the back of my hand, that they don't just do an emissions test. First up they have a visual inspection of things like your ecu, turbo, intercoolers, emissions gear like afm/carbon canisters etc, exhaust system, fuel rail/injectors, air box/pod, boost control and fuel pressure reg. You MIGHT be able to get through with some aftermarket inj and stuff because some of them look stock....the same with OEM style turbos. However I can assure you they know what a PFC looks like and they even check whether your std computer has been opened and hence chipped. Assuming you get through that they then do an emissions check and then finally take you to the open area for a noise test. As for the emissions level, they will pass you if you are over as long as all the aforementioned stock gear is there...why.....because as a car ages it produces more emissions than it did when it was new because things like the cats ability to absorb emissions reduces over time and engines get 'dirtier' as they age. However if you are over by a big margin they might start asking questions. Basically read through the EPA sticky thread and listen to the advise given by people like Ash (R31Nismoid) as he knows the rules inside and out

skiwhine...please leave giving advise to those who know what they are talking about. A PFC will cause you to fail instantly because the letter of the law states that your ecu must not be adjustable (like the PFC is with a handcontroller). And yes having ANY aftermarket turbo does mean you are gone due to the fact that it changes the emissions of your car. I will re-iterate that here in victoria the EPA will fail a car that isn't stock in regard to intake and exhaust....the basic rule of thumb is anything that affects emissions will cause your car to fail.
  17. AHAHAHAHA thats gold
  18. Someone in Vic did this to their 34 gtt....then spent a fair bit of time on a skidpan which resulted in the radiators head tank exploding due to the increased pressure. Basically don't fit unless you have an alloy radiator.

Errr before Ash says it have a look in the EPA sticky thread or do a search as this has been covered many times before. ANY mod that affects emissions such as those listed above WILL NOT PASS a full epa inspection in vic....that means stock ecu, stock injectors etc etc is needed. If the turbo is a high flowed stockie or an N1 item then you will pass....anything else will fail.
  20. Big thanks to the organizers and volunteers....Had an awesome day Despite the predictions of rain the sun ruled and conditions were great for racing....although it was getting a little hot in the car at the end of the day. If I hadn't run out of fuel I think I would've still been doing laps till the sun went down I felt I really took the GTR by the scruff of the neck and got the most out of it. Got a new PB of a low 1.06 but the best part of the day was the supersprint at the end of the day....left the grid in 5-6th spot and beat the wrx next to me to the first corner and from there managed to overtake everyone to find myself in 1st place on the last lap....the GTR rules Sorry to see everyone strike little gremlins but they weren't big things so you'll be back on the road in no time.....LOL brisby no camera but the view I had of it from the top of the hill was very entertaining Oh and no problem assyrian4evaa glad you enjoyed the ride
  21. Spotted a dark blue GT40 replica with orange stripes on king st yesterday around the 5pm mark....sounded great Then spotted a silver Diablo driving down the Nepean Hwy about 5:20pm....awesome presence on the road
  22. ...more relaxed....decent drink......SOLD Put me down for that but I'm not fussed with either the Mon or Wed depart
  23. Mad082 that is exactly what I meant by 'that isn't going to happen'. I didn't say apply the same rules as the V8's...I said make things you can the same as in power, gearbox, tyres etc. Of course then you end up with a car with a massive avantage due to the turbo and 4wd and that is exactly my arguement...given the same equipment (where possible) the gtr would be out in front due to the basic differences of the cars.
  24. gtr660hp....I couldn't agree more and let me point out that I am under no illusions that the current V8 'supercar' will do a faster lap for far longer than a gtr could. At the end of the day you really cannot compare them as they are chalk and cheese for reasons listed in the last 6 pages of this topic. What I find interesting is that you spend a 10th of the cost of a V8 on a gtr and it can be a few seconds slower than a v8 over one lap. What I'd really like to see is for a gtr to be built to the current regs of the V8's - same tyres, gearbox, weight, power etc etc and then compare them.....considering that isn't going to happen it is a mute arguement but I'd bet the R would be in front on the last lap. Bring back good racing with a mixed car series like group A used to be I say!
  25. Ferni...that is a series 3 lip mate Yep S3 lip are waaaay more expensive than they should be but thats the going rate for them. If yours is an original lip then you can take it to a paint shop to get it stripped back to its plastic colour which is kinda dark grey. Once you have done that you can get a can or two of K&H bumper and trim paint in satin black and give it a spray.
