Done what?

You're digging yourself a hole and only proving yourself to be the exact kind of material that ends HPV driver's in shit! Beleive it or not - 99% of Skyline drivers here DO NOT use their vehicles the way you seem to think so. Nobody here is a street racer / drifter, and constantly demonstrates how theyre Skyline compares to a Honda Accord. I think you've seen a bit too much Fast & Furious. I'm going to suggest you stick to the Accord, if you survive, wait until you're more grown up, enough to drive a Skyline nicely, and not give other Skyline driver's an even worse image.

Just A Couple Of Questions Pertaining To Wa.
Nic_A31 replied to Tony de Wonderful's topic in Western Australia
If I add stuff like upgraded exhaust or turbo stuff (any mods to do with the engine) do I have to get a mandatory emissions cert that cost shed loads of $$$? Even if stuff is OEM. At the moment my car is all stock. That seems bloody ridiculous. Emmisions testing is required if the vehicle is pre-89, aftermarket cat (compliance requires one of these anyway), has an ADDED turbo (aftermarket, upgrade, etc - non-OEM), or any major mods that increase performance AND emmisions (ie, camshafts). Emmisions is currently not required for vehicles already registered - stay away from yellow stickers and you're fine. What are the laws about rim sizes and stuff. I heard drivers got done for 'big rims'? Not sure on this but I THINK no more than 2" bigger than factory, also complying with the suspension rules. I heard someone say you need sticker on your gear shifter to show its 'map' also? WTF? Apparently an H pattern sticker is needed, showing the shift pattern, 99/100 cops wont give a shit about this and you can probably pass over the pits without it as well, but it doesnt hurt to order a sticker and keep it in your glovebox, handy for when the cop is walking from his door to your own. What's the law about being lowered etc? What is too low? Again, I'll let someone else answer this but the rule of thumb is you must be able to fit 2 fingers between the wheel and the guard ?? I've heard loads on the media about the 'hoon problem', now with this legislation the police have discretionary power to impound cars right? A wheel screech, hard braking, revving too hard, etc is enough potentially to get a 48hr impound at your expense? The state has declared war on high performance cars (and their 'hoon' drivers) it seems? Yes, cops hate high performance cars - Our kind is illegal and are not allowed to exist without hassles. Can a cop just send me to get an emmisions test just 'cos they suspect I have mods? Who pays for that? You pay for that seing as you dont pay enough tax. They cant say "your car needs an IM240 TEST!" however they can yellow you for something else and then your vehicle MAY meet a criteria in which it would need an emmisions test to make it over the pits. Although alot of people are passing without these tests, depending on how close to factory their vehicles are setup (keep a stock exhaust and friendly cat handy) -
..... LOL Sorry, but mentioning that you have tried to fishtail your family's Accord won't help. Once you get as far as buying one, whats to say you arent going to be a twat in it anyway? On top of the fact its k, about half of that again in insurance, etc. No offense dude, but you look like bad news from this post, and I won't be suprised if this gets a lock.

Cheers guys. Finish off those rears and get a set of matching 4, go 5 stud, and I'll pull the tailshaft out and have a squizy.
-
Everyones after an R34 GT-T at the moment.... Like everyone said to the other guy (Davo87 ?) who's looking for one, just be patient and the right one will pop up, dont rush a purchase as soon as you find one that meets the criterea. Getting it rego'd before sending makes life alot easier, and you'll porbably get away with not needing an emmisions test. About shipping interstate, three isnt much "risk" to it, my Ceffy was always covered, from Adelaide to here it was in a container, the only drama's I had, a crack current crack in the windshield (was like that when I bought it) got worse, which still didnt turn out as bad as I expected for a 4500km trip, and the chassis and bumpers have some nasty scratches and rash, because it sits fairly low, they could have been more carefull there, but I expected it. Anything that does happen to a car in transport is usually covered by the company.
-
Depends on the likelyness of if it would pass here or not. Thats not to say it would pass on the first run in the Easten States or their tests are valid here, and transport each way isn minimum about $1500 +/-, takes 2 weeks, and runs a number of risks that neitheri nsurance or the transporter will cover (unlikely but it is a factor you will contend with) The first person to roll out of Kostecki's just has to crawl under their enviro friendly Skyline and see what cats Kostecki's use and what else they did, SAU sticky - then we can all do as much of that as posible before Kostecki's - keeps the number of re-runs and the cost down. Hopefully they f**k this idea off real quick, and dont bring it back until more workshops can support the retarded idea for a price alot more realistic, like the Easten States have.

In terms if the rails, they are straight and parrallel, its just the dents up and down I can see, and the panel alignment. Another thing, that same vibration while driving is even heavier when its jacked up, alot of shaking, it kicks in at the same speed and since its not moving its own weight, the vibration gets worse alot quicker, to the point where I can't have the wheels doing over 50kmp/h without it trying to jump off the stands. Somewhere in the drivetrain isnt bolted in properly, but where do I start? Engine mounts look almost brand new, and seated properly (and doesnt move around even the slightest bit when revving up), havent checked the gearbox < tailshaft < diff < axles < wheels

This looks more like New Zealand than Ireland...LAWL OK, ahem, sorry, racist comment taken back. Looks good man
-
Were the brakes a direct fit? or did you need to change hubs, nuckles etc? As for painting the rotors, wont that kind of just get stripped away pretty quickly .... ?? GTS Rotors ?? Looks mint man. How much were your Coilies, and whats the specs? I'm trying to find a street friendly set for mine, Tein dont make them, and I've been told to keep clear of H2s, and not to use S13's.
-
How did you diagnose it? Stick some pins into the wiring connection to short it - make sure its the switch and not any wiring or the module. Otherwise the switch is a universal Nissan thing isnt it ? Wreckers would surely have one of these on a wreck, otherwise Nissan could sell you one for $40 or something ridiculous.

f**kin BAM! Keep the complaints flooding in on them guys!! they'll crack eventually!!! yeeeeeehaaaaww!!!!!! AHEM, sorry...nah, good work guys! Bout time we saw some light.
-
Vacuum cleaner...its not as boring then.
-
What have you tried soo far? Any visible leaks? Bled it?
-
Steering wheel yes, air bag no. Go XSpeed mate, even if it is more expensive.
-
By leaking air sound, do you mean the same sound as in when you depress a brake pedal on something with ABS (usually cant hear it when the car is on) ?
-
Did you get this from over East like you were mentioning a while ago? Eastern States do no require an immobiliser, but here it is a legal requirement for sale and you can't go over the pits without one.
-
By belongs there, I meant if it had other typical high performance mods, the steering wheel wouldnt stand out like a dogs balls in the open as a sign of dodgey-ass-salesman. Those gauges arent stock on GT-Ts or GT-Rs are they ?? Strut Brace, pods, wheel and gauges...maybe it isnt a dodgey. Should be a few SoR members on here willing to check it out with you, otherwise I can if you want, but I say keep looking around man, I know its hard to look for a car the same time you're a member on a forum like this, its easy to get excited and want to rush a purchase, but dont Dealer or importer? if its importer he'd be the first owner, but not a dealer. REVS should still pick up financial write-offs that have been repaired since, if its still registered obviously it hasnt been entered as a structural. Google REVS WA or just REVS, by VIN/Chassis number I mean the number on the firewall, you'll still need the engine number (located passenger side just before the bell housing (pretty sure its the same spot for the 20s / 25s?), and a rego number helps, REVS may be able to give you some vehicle history as well like other states it was registered/imported in, etc.
-
^^ would give that one a miss unless it was modded and the steering wheel somewhat belonged there. If you have the VIN/Chassis and Engine No. and/or the rego, ring up REVS and do an over the phone check, takes 60 seconds tops. Also, if the vehicle was ever registered in another state, ring REVS in that state and check there too.

Some people are apprehensive about unprotected sex before marriage - they're called tightasses. Its not a bad idea to get one if you're a noob, but the RAC checks arent what people make them out to be, when it comes to Skylines they really dont check alot of relevant stuff, they often things in the check, etc. If you can find a Skyline guru to go laong with you and check it out, do so.

Stock CAI w/ snorkel and high flow K&N filter FTW. Yellow sticker THAT Mr Officer!...actually they probably will one day.
-
Mate, you're gonna need to give us alot more information that "the engine cuts out". How often do you put your foot down ??

Advice Needed On Registering Car Being Bought Over From Nsw
Nic_A31 replied to stolly's topic in Western Australia
So you were registering a "vehicle transfer", not registering an unregistered vehicle, that'd be why they didn't ask for an emmisions test. Although I keep hearing alot of people are passing pits with all stock setups.
