VE Clubsport, the real angry looking front? f**k yeah.

Here ya go, again, this is how my Maxima does it, dunno about R34s. My jack goes there, and the tools inside the spare wheel, which sits face up inside the well, I dunno if R34s have a well underneath the carpet, or if they lodge in the side ?? Maybe the jack is meant to just sit loose inside the spare ? Just pull all of the lining out and have a look, gotta be there somewhere.
-
^^ It was just complianced recently, its stock, so rego wont be hard. Its naturally aspirated, so it doenst need to do an emmisions test under any condition. Transport is 1000-1500 region at the most. The guy is either going to sell the car, or half a car, he can't sell it, take half the parts, then send it, well, he could, but he wouldnt.
-
Where did you try already? Usually on the sides of the boot, take off the lining, and there is a gap in the wall of it, there will be 2 tower looking things to expand the jack to brace onto I dont actually know about my Ceffy, but it is like that in my Maxima. Want a photo?

So Whats Happening With Everyones 4 Door?
Nic_A31 replied to CeJay's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
In a million pieces in the driveway, I'm shitty with it at the moment. Broken exhaust stud inside the block. Wiring and coil issues, fuel sending problems, eh, the list is huge -
This REEEEALLY helps us all out with the WA Police huh. Hopefully they understand that was some drunk cock-bite who did that and actually don't take it out on sober Skyline drivers.

In Japan, every 100'000kms or 5 years, its rebuild, engine swap, or trade up, that's why they have warehouses full off semi-low KM vehicles. Imports around the 100'000km mark arent rare, but workshops are well known to wind back vehicles to a bullshit figure like 40'000 and claim they're genuine. The only real way to check is with Japan, contacting the seller on that end, so unless the vehicle is a fresh import. Might seem like a long shot, but hit up the internet with your VIN, or any numbers off your compliance. I traced my Cefiro's history finding old eBay links and some shit on the web, and it's not as hard as people think.

TAFEs can do it, you have to pay for the paint, thats it, if they don't do it good enough, they and it back and try again, so it might be gone longer than with a paint shop, but is cheaper. Ring an actual TAFE (whichever one spraypainting is at), and ask them for some more info. Not sure if Uni's do it ?

Guys cut him some slack on the N/A. He will eventually give in to the withdrawal symptoms of boost, but it'd be nice to have a straight, stock N/A Skyline and slowly build it up, one mod at a time, keeping it legal, eventually turning it into a monster Nah, as long as it is complianced and has all certificates (shouldnt need any if it is stock), then you'll be fine. You'll need to fill out a form from the DPI website, its a declaration of ownership or something, they trace the VIN and engine number, make sure neither are dodgey, and make sure the vehicle ended up in your possesion legit'. Make sure you keep your temporary movement permit updated ($13.8x? for 48 hours) when moving, especially if the vehicle has absolutely no record of exsistance in the country.

1. He has told me to Put a deposit of 1000, which is the safest way to do it? Nothing is safe with a stranger, cross your fingers and do a bank transfer 2. What is the safest way to pay for the car when i am ready to buy it? EFT (If he f**ks you over, you have a way of tracing the money for a legal stance. 3. Do i have to get them to fill up a form or somethin? Interstate transfer form ? you'll still need to go over the pits here 4. WIll i have to pay the transportation agency anythin else apart frm what i was quoted? Storage fee if they try to deliver and you're not home or whatever maybe. 5. How do i check if the car is Dodgy? God gave you 5 senses, you can improvise most of them together along with your brain 6. Is there any way i can pay mechanic to have a lo ok at it without me been there? like how you get RAC to check a car here in w.a? Some insurance companies do the same thing over East, but like most checks over here, and like typical Eastern States people, they're useless 7. Is it hard to register a unregistered car from another state? if the car is stock and is in very good condition? Provided it's complianced, previously registered, and it's bone stock, you'll be fine. 8. I read somewhere around here bout the new Emission Laws, will i have to do a an emission test if the car is Completely Stock No, if it's naturally aspirated, it won't need to do an emmmisions test. 9. Is there anythin else i should be worried about? Killer Bee's, worry about those. 10. Have i asked alot of Stupid Questions? No, you can never ask too many questions before forking over a large amount of money for a car. Run a REVs check on the VIN/Chassis and engine number to make sure they are/were matted on previous rego (not a stolen engine, vehicle, or both), the car hasnt been registered as structurally totalled in any accidents, make sure there is no money owing on it, etc Happy hunting

Upgrading Ignition - Need Some Pointers?
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Just picked up another loom, pack and coil wiring loom from wreckers. I heard the ECU loom end of the wiring go crunch when I pulled it, it might be the cause, but the pack is definately cooked, and the coil loom. I'll have a crack and stripping back and resoldering the ECU end of the loom, but I'll still be replacing everything from the pack to the spark plugs. Cheers fella's. -
I can't name anyone, if nobody else can and you want to resort to the internet, use this: http://www.nissanshiftgear.com/default.cfm eBay seller's just buy their stuff and onsell at a slightly higher price, minus the English speaking and always having stock.

Upgrading Ignition - Need Some Pointers?
Nic_A31 replied to Nic_A31's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Thanks SirRace. I'm gonna replace the works, it all looks pretty nasty. TWO QUESTIONS: Does the R32 Ignitor box have vertical or horizontal pin orientation? Where does the Ignitor get power from? I want to replace the harness's, both sides, I didnt look too hard, but the lines into the box join the other lines that run back into the firewall to the ECU ??? Can't work out where that harness goes and Nissan FAST just confused me even more? My wiring is all really stiff and burn out. Cylinder one has copped the worst, alot of burn marks visible from the valley. Time to replace both harnesses, the ignitor box, Splitfire coils and new spark plugs. Then she'll haul ass again. Cheers in advance fella's. -
Hi guys, Over the weekend I had some drama's ending in non exsistant ECU codes before it decided Code 21. Found the culprit....drum roll..... Ignitor pack wires are eletrical taped together, with no solder (Don't buy off eBay) Now before I solder it, my questions are: * Should I cut the wires and solder in an R32 ignitor pack (incase it dies in the future, easier to find a replacement)? * Any specific brand of coils to replace while I'm at it? I'm told most brands die quickly, havent heard about Splitfires?? If the difference between a $300 set and a $700 set is still short lived, I'll just be le-cheapo's. * Which specific coil? I've attached a pic of my current coils, I dunno if theyre early or late model, or what one would classify as "brown", so can anybody see and point me in the right direction as to which ones to buy, also consdering if I switch to R32 ?? Thanks a million guys. -Nic

You mean just the cams, right??

Still tossing up between swapping the diff, or locking HICAS. Once the diff breaks in, I'll see how its going and work it out from there. Changing the diff would suit more to using the car for daily use, but locking the HICAS is only $150 and half a day's work. Its a 94 model J30 (98-94) Maxima

Mine still has stock exhaust. Good point though, I've seen maybe 10 tops out of the hundreds of imports I see on the roads.

Split From Other Topic. Track Day Discussion

Then you're a rare breed. Dirt bike racing and go karts - so you managed to get your racing stage out of your system rather quickly, maybe even before you got your license? Just as biased for you to preach your morales based on your own experiences as it is for me to. This guy took a risk, and fumbled it. If he'd taken the same risk alone, without another car in sight, what'd everyone have to say then? This guy was just a regular Skyline driver. -
What about an import with stock exhaust ??

Exactly my point. Thank you. You never took risks when you were younger huh? Not even the occasional skid? -

I wasnt trying to justify any kind of wrong-doing guys, I was saying that people forget the risk. On a wet day in a RWD car, the driver is more likely to priorities 2.5 seconds of fun out of the corner, than the risk of killing someone. I've seen enough people I've known personally, killed by exactly that. It's f**ked up. Like you said, a driver should always be in complete control of the vehicle. I was under the impression Barbs was more like $220+ membership + $65 entry per night + $80 CAMS, on top of transport and running costs, only be to completely annihilated by professionals funded by higher paying jobs and years of experience. I'll stop arguing my point because it seems you guys dont read the whole thing before responding, plus I'm with you on the fact that this event was f**ked up, and a reminder that driver's should invest just as much money into brakes, steering and suspension as they do into their dyno figures and tyres. -
I think we're being as bad as police here. Assuming he was being an idiot, because it was a Skyline. Remember, innocent until proven guilty. I've left some rubber on the kerbs on wet days where I've looked away from a straight road for "two seconds", and no, not in any HPVs I disagree about there being "more than enough" facilities in Perth or WA to drive a car outside of its design. We have one drag strip and one track. On opposite sides of the city. Motorplex launch a drag every 60 seconds, but look at how many cars rock up most nights, you don't exactly get alot of runs. Barbagallo puts alot of people off entering drift practice because of its fees, and need of a CAMS license, as well as the other shit you need just to go for a quick slide. Yeah, safety is a first, but there's no denying, all those costs add up, and unless you have a decent income, its out of the picture. By the time you drive to Collie, you're already down, you still need to be nice to your pig, unless you want to fork out more cash and time to have it towed all the way back to Perth. Im also completely against driving like a wanker on public roads, especially in city limits, but at the end of the day, knowing how much easier it is to drop 2nd into a corner or drag a car off a green light, its tempting not to, rather than put in the effort to do it legally.

Cool Yeah, make it un-stock, then drive it and tell us what you think Dunno why they sold poorely in Japan, as stock, theyre great for daily use.
-
+1 Above. They didnt mention the vehicle was possibly stolen, so why ask anyone who witnessed it to contact Crime Stoppers? If it was a regular accident, they'd ask the public to contact a local police station, but obviously since its a Skyline, its quiet clear he/she did a huge 7500rpm neutral drop from 2nd into the corner and held a nice long drift, almost killing 80 pedestrians aswell as him/her self and the passenger.

I've posted this up before w/ eBay pics, thought it was about time to make an official thread for progress. 1988 A31 Cefiro RB20DET 5 Speed HD Clutch 2 Way Diff Lowered/Stiff springs Imported in 98 as a N/A Auto, rego'd up until 06, de-rego'd, moved to QLD, converted to Turbo 5 speed, then I bought it off a quick owner, and had it shipped to WA. 91'700KMS, not too sure on this one, REVS matched the engine to the chassis, but the engine has a sticker for 100'000km service performed at 88'000km (in Japan), so unless the engine was imported and swapped right before de-rego, I'd assume it was wound back (gauge cluster is the original auto). Needs windshield, paint, exhaust fix, coilovers, new tyres (...hehehehe), certificates and a lovely emmisions test. HICAS isnt getting along nicely with the diff, not sure if I can pass the way it is, sometimes driving in a straight line is interrupted every few seconds by a diff lockup and a yank of the rear end by HICAS. "LOTS of work" ahead on this one, but so is any car. Will update when she is painted. Meanwhile, here is a pic I snapped today after I let it off the lead for a few laps around the block. Comments, critisicm, bashing etc, all welcome. -Nic
