  1. I have a magnet handy for such deceptions.
  2. Ah, it was yours I was thinking of Daniel, I thought you had a Haltech for some reason. I seem to remember Trent being worried about valve clearance, do you know what degree advance/retard you ended up getting out of it?
  3. It's been done with a Haltech already, I am sure most high end ecu's could easily manage it. You would want a good tuner though.
  4. I would love to, but the Stagea overheats in 3 laps of PI. At least the evo is nearly finished... I need to get back on the track.
  5. Send me a pm if you like and we can discuss it. I suspect this is true, as carbon buildup makes welding a biatch, it would need to be cleaned up very well, inside and out. I can get some pretty cheap stainless mufflers these days if that's what you want. I usually recommend Magnaflow mufflers though, or Varex if you want it quiet.
  6. Sounds a little unusual, obviously he doesn't read much online, or deal with ethanol converted cars with large injectors often. The Xspurts are modified in Melbourne, but as GTSBoy mentioned they come from the Bosch factory.
  7. As far as I know, no-one makes a female adapter to fit the reg to an AN fitting rail. It's just easier to fit an aftermarket reg. Otherwise retrofitting an RB25Neo rail is your only option.
  8. Most of the workshops in Australia buy Xspurts from my supplier. Some probably even tell you they are ID's, which they realistically are seeing they are the same injector.
  9. As long as the actuator is robust, such as the Neo one, I can't see why a second hand assembly can't be used. You don't see Neo's smashing valve gear... The VCT window can be actuated by many products on the market can't it? Not a big task anyway. Making sure you have the valve clearance would be the big stress.
  10. You are welcome to bring it down here, i'm in Hampton Park. Is it something you can get fixed under statutory warranty I wonder? I would be pretty pissed buying a car with problems. Was it through a dealer?
  11. Response is a pretty big aspect of how a car drives. It would help with midrange response and power which is worth more imo than top end on a road car. What if it could be done for $500, would it be worth it then? Perhaps someone should look into it further and work out exactly what's needed, and what it would cost to be made in bulk. The market is definitely there for a short production run I would think, especially if the positive results could be proven. If I had a head here I would look into it myself. I guess it comes down to how cashed up you are, and how early you want the 26 to spool.
  12. Sounds like the crappy plastic solenoid locking pin is buggered. Fairly common problem. You can get to it from behind in the Stagea...
  13. Hey Lom, welcome mate. These are fairly complicated cars to work on, for most maintenance you will need a scanner to diagnose, especially handy with faults like yours. I would start with making sure the revs are correct, it could help with the stalling to clean the throttle, but be aware, don't move the throttle plate when you do. Have you checked the plugs at all? What mods have been done? Havs the engine light been on at all? Probably best to get it checked over by someone who is familiar with the M35, there are a few common faults to look over which most have by now. Things like sway bar links, compression rod bushes, passenger side rocker gaskets and others will most likely need replacement if they haven't been done already. Where are you located?
  14. Thanks Adam. I aim to provide the best service and prices, but you are smart to research any products you are unsure of. I do. I find it best to search using google, and just put skylinesaustralia before what you want to find. The forum search bar is woeful.
  15. As we have discussed, that is a kit to hand it to you on a plate. All you need is a VCT actuator and a good fabricator/engineer to shove it in there, no need to spend 7k unless you wanted to sell multiple kits off yourself.
  16. Fark mate, doesn't sound good. Greg is upgrading to 1400's and has 1000's he wants to get rid of. I can ask him if you like. Or I can get new Xspurt 1000's modified to suit an RB26...
  17. Exactly. And getting a warranty replacement out of DW is like pulling teeth. I know from experience.
  18. 0.82 rear should be fine. It will help the turbine breathe nicely in the top end, and hold off the det a little longer. 0.63 might still be a little small imo. If only there was a 0.73 option... Perhaps Kando do one? So is it internal gate?
  19. Sorry, just going by the later VQ fpcm which actually controls the pump as stated in its name. I forget the ecu in the 32/33 is the only ecu in the car. Mine has 8. Bypassing the resistor to remove weight seems pointless. It weighs less than 1 sardine.
  20. No idea, all I know is the 3.5L was able to keep being produced after 04 due to it being OBD2 compliant, unlike the VQ25. I assumed the standard OBD2 readers would work. If they don't you are stuck with the usual Greddy touch or HKS OB link units, both of which work on the 2.5det. I have an OB link here I am trying to sell actually. Check it out..
  21. Sometimes it takes someone else saying the same thing.....
  22. I know I am. lol. At least I can put it to the ground though, rain hail or shine.
  23. No, you would need the short injectors which come in many sizes, to fit easily under the stock plenum. I think you can squeeze 3/4 length in there, but why bother unless you already have them. 34 Neo runs 3/4 (55mm) top feed injectors stock. ID are a US reseller of Bosch ev14's. Somehow they got the name as the only place that can supply decent injectors in the world. Other companies also supply exactly the same injectors and modify them in the same way, Xspurt is made by a local Australian supplier, with local warranty.
  24. I think he needs to learn a little more about his products, this is just plain wrong. The pump will flow much less as the pressure rises, as he would plainly see on the flow chart.
