Competitors cannot be blamed for having ugly or extensively developed aero packages, the problem is fundamental to the regulations. designers and builders would be remiss to not attempt to eek every possible advantage.
However I always thought time attack was more of a production based event, similar in many respects to Grp A and various touring car series around the world.
This isn't a stab at the event or organisers or the competitors, I went last year, loved it and I am going this year as well.
